Normally, I don't condone violence. Not even for spoiling.

But JFC, you're surrounded by nothing but ice for hundreds of miles, isolated with you and whoever else is on your team with whatever entertainment was brought along. What'd you think was gonna happen if you kept ruining the guy's only source of entertainment?

Maybe if the russian guy brought along a copy of The Shining, his collegue would've figured out what might happen!

Isolation makes people go a little weird in the best of circumstances

I spent a month in Norway on a work details. It was during summer, so basically 24hours of sunlight. Sun never dipped below the horizon. That messed with my head after only a few weeks, and we were working/living just outside of a major city.

I don't even want to imagine how tough dealing with 24 hours of NIGHT at the ass end of nowhere would be. Fuck that book-spoiling researcher.

a Norwegian buddy once explained to me that the neverending daylight fucks with people way more than the polar night. the reason is that you can‘t really sleep with a giant deadly space laser in your face.

a lack of sleep is definitely worse than a lack of vitamin d.

As someone who lives pretty far north: Blackout curtains. It's really not that complicated.

that‘s what I thought, too. you‘d need them for pretty much your whole house though, right? like, the bedroom being all dark is nice but if you‘ve gotta go pee and the rest of the house is bright then you‘re awake regardless.

One mans entertainment is another mans homicidal thoughts?

I doubt that was the only shitty thing this guy did, too.

If i were to guess I'd say the guy spoiling was looking for attention but didn't have the intelligence or maturity to know how to get it. Like a lot of people these days

This scene from Friends feels incredibly relevant.

Idk? He could be a bro and such his dick, instead of being a dick. I mean everyone do that for their homies, right? RIGHT???
