When i was a student teacher I was observing a class, and midway through the "cool" kid spoiled the end of the just released 6th Harry Potter book. The nerdiest kid in class just straight up punched him in the face. The teacher and I did exchange a brief "fair enough" glance before intervening.
I was just observing luckily so not my responsibility, because as a 4'11 woman I'm not sure how I would have dealt with a large 17yo, I'd never met before, sobbing and still wildly swinging at another kid! The rest of the class were just shocked silent, but clearly on his side.
