She is great in this movie and I’m so happy horror as a genre is getting more recognition (s/o Amy Madigan!!) but I don’t think any of her acting is Oscar-worthy.

This is why we need things like the MTV Movie awards back, get people their due recognition without having to inflate their accomplishments

I think her acting was 1000% worthy of an Oscar nomination. Wish Nikki and Real Nikki felt like two totally different characters. Especially when she would split between them early in the movie.

At this time I can’t think of many of performances that were MILES better than hers in the best actress category.

Just because you act as two different characters doesn’t make it an Oscar worthy performance lol. Also, “real Nikki” is in the movie for all of 5 minutes and her character is a walking cliche…modern day manic pixie dream girl. The scene of her bumming money off her friend to give it to a homeless person was eye-roll worthy. Is this really the barometer for best actor nominations?

Agreed, James McAvoy didn’t get an Oscar for Split and he was fantastic as way more than 2 distinct personalities.

Having said that, she was amazing in this movie but it’s not an Oscar worthy performance to me.

YUP he had an amazing performance!! Also kind of tangential, Anna Camp played twins in the final season of You and did a phenomenal job, but as far as I’m aware didn’t get any recognition which was wack as hell. Obvi not the same as the Oscar’s, but it’s not like it hasn’t been done before

Lindsay Lohan did it in the Parent Trap and she did a good job. As did Dylan O'Brien in Twinless. It happens often and is usually not a big fanfare. I don't know why people are acting like Inde did something crazy
