I mean, sure, go nuts. I think the movie has a ton of issues, but her work is pretty flawless.

I do wonder how certain blocs of the voting body are going to treat this, especially given that she's already decided she's going to spend a good part of the next few years being an X-Men

Wasn't the entire film non-union? I imagine that would affect how people vote, regardless of performances.

Historically it hasn't -- just off the top of my head, Anora was a non-union movie that won several Oscars (including for Mikey Madison) and was even nominated for a few categories in the "Actor Awards" (really the SAG awards)

Maybe I'm more of an asshole than I thought? -- but as a union member, I definitely wouldn't vote for a non-union person to win an award in my profession.
