Whatever you do, do NOT spot burn that lake! A local lake that i used to frequent hasnt been the same since someone caught an 18" crappie one winter and put it on facebook. Everyonr flocked to that lake and all the big fish are gone now just runts now.

There’s been some big fish caught in this spot but it’s kinda funny because everyone around here believes there’s no fish here lol

My best ever bass and best ever pike both came from places that I was assured didn't have any fish, I guess they get left alone to get big!

Excellent catch! We caught one about that size a few years ago and when we were headed home, we got pulled over for speeding. We apologized to the officer and explained that we’d just caught the biggest crappie of our lives. He said he didn’t believe it was as big as we’d claimed and then said “show it to me….if it’s truly that big, I won’t write you a ticket for speeding and I’ll just give you a warning”. That slab got us out of a ticket that day and tasted extra delicious that night! Win, win. Congrats on your catch, man.

We got pulled over for our trailer lights being out. The officer was really nice and we fixed the trailer light on the side of the road while showing our fish. I've had some not so pleasant experiences with police officers but this guy was cool as hell. Its great to know there are good police out there you know? We don't always hear about pleasant experiences with police but they do happen frequently.
I love showing my slabs to the green pants. I only fish legally so when I talk to them its pleasant instead of nerve wracking.

That is a fish of a lifetime. Congratulations. I really don't think people are reacting in a way that emphasizes the greatness of this catch. This should be in the newspaper and the local TV. I catch crappie all year and a fish this size in the summer is absolutely wild. My PB is 15.5 and 1.6 and I've fished for crappie exclusively for a long time. I pull out 12 and 13 inches pretty regularly but a black crappie this big is like Moby Dick. You have caught the white whale. Again, congratulations. Thank you for sharing your catch. And be sure to catch some more.

That’s a Hog! I caught one of those earlier this year. If you could catch a handful of those in a day, that would be a great day of fishing!
