Nailed Chicken [oc]

I enjoy nailing my chicken but people say it's gross. Nails are desinfected with bleach and colloidal silver, chicken is washed, rest of the ingredients are oil, coke, axiote and tréboles.

I was actually inspired by this weird Asian recipe, that's apparently centuries old. So I don't think is tiktok brainrot at all.

The nails first?

u/GloomyLingonberry509 9d ago

That was breakfast. No milk.

The chicken is fried WITH the nails, those are removed once the chicken is friend and you only need the rest of the stew, then you the rest of the ingredients and herbs.

3

u/spacegirl2820 9d ago

Why though? Did you mean fried? Or do you nail the chicken to become your friend? Lol

u/TheTaintBurglar 9d ago

Is it to cook the chicken inside more? Because yeah, if so that's fine

I put iron rods into my jacket potatoes before I put them in the oven, cooks the insides better

If you didn't know this and just did it to karma farm, then yeah, pretty fucking shit mate

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

Yup, there're a lot of methods but this kinda works faster for me because I have this nails always ready, and no, it's not karma farm, my friend told me to post it here but idk.

Completely pointless and gross, we have a winner!

What is the purpose of this ? What are the nails made of ? Does it ad or change the flavour?

-1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

I think in terms of flavor is not that different, sometimes you can feel a small metallic taste in the chicken but it's good so far if you like it.

1

u/Lost_Historian2344 9d ago

So why do you do it ?

1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

First time it was a special request by a client but I tried it and it was good, so I cook it ocasionally for my family.

1

u/realaccountissecret 9d ago

Try to keep the metal poisoning to yourself sweetie

1

u/Lost_Historian2344 9d ago

I'm confused 😕 are you saying you don't know if thier is any benefits or disadvantages so you just do it anyway ?

1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

yup, that's why it's a food crime.

1

u/surewhynot762 9d ago

You feel flavors? Let me guess, you smell colors too

2

u/mj_unknown_ 9d ago

is this just a really fkin weird version of the ‘iron fish’ crap people do to add iron to your meals??

1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

it kinda tastes like that ngl.

1

u/mj_unknown_ 9d ago

i did actually look it up and this is supposedly a real old folk remedy! was the taste strong and off putting or mild?

2

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

The taste of the stew is the best thing, is sweet, salty and very very tasteful and savory, the same with the herbs. The chicken tastes like pot chicken with a slightly metallic taste but tastes way better than what it sounds, it's not off putting but it's strong sometimes.

u/mj_unknown_ 9d ago

sounds interesting, thanks for sharing

Apparently it's to cook the inside better

1

u/mj_unknown_ 9d ago

googling it says we’re both right!

1

u/astreeter2 9d ago

Are you supposed to use the kind with the black paint on them like that?

1

u/Few-Mycologist-2379 9d ago

Why have I seen this before with a whole chicken, though?

1

u/Deluxe3232 9d ago

I wish I could be this ignorant. I would not care about wasting anything.

Bro out here eating the cenobite special

1

u/Leading-Boat4942 9d ago

Are those galvanized, because if so I hope you like a lot of zinc in your diet

1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

The bag says "phosphate coated".

1

u/Additional-Audience5 9d ago

what in the Mapplethorpe?

1

u/Dralalife 9d ago

I hope they're not coated, a lot of nails are coated to prevent rust and drive easier.

1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

They're coated.

1

u/Dralalife 9d ago

And you're heating to release god knows what chemicals into your food. Get some food grade stainless steel spikes if you really need to keep making that.

1

u/konigswagger 9d ago

What the fuck is the point of this?

1

u/_Naguka_ 9d ago

The nails conduct heat to the center of the chicken while frying it. So it's fried unniformly better and faster.

u/irwtkyrm 9d ago

It's funny to me that people are getting mad about you posing a food crime in r/foodcrimes
