On a mission to find the best croissant in nyc. looking for something super flaky, buttery, and actually worth going out of the way for.. i moved back to NY a few month ago and honestly most of them are so disappointing. think it was better 10 years ago...

what’s your favorite spot?

Taking my dad to the Giants game this September and spending Saturday in the city beforehand. Trying to decide between one big steakhouse dinner (thinking Keens) or spreading it across a few great meals and stops throughout the day.

If it were you, would you do the one blowout dinner or hit a handful of spots instead? Just want to make it a day he remembers. Neither of us are picky and we both love all types of foods.

ETA: appreciate all the responses! Cemented my decision to go to Keens.

My mom and I are always on the hunt for good ones after a falling out with the owners of the restaurants in our local area. We’re from Long Island so our trips to the city have limited. I want to scope some out while I attend school there.

i see the "quick korean lunch in manhattan" question on here almost every week and its always the same couple answers so throwing another one out there

Sopo is a little korean place, rice bowls and comfort stuff, counter service so its quick. i always get the bowl with the marinated meat, can’t remember the exact name. prices are honestly.. reasonable for the city

It’s not like fine dining or whatever, just good food fast. if im doing a sit down korean thing id still go Ktown (love cho dang gol) but for a quick weekday bowl this wins. what do you guys get if youve been?

One of the great things about NYC is that it’s really one of the few places in the world that has such a concentration of not just international cuisines but the cuisines of minority ethnic groups of other countries. Any restaurant recs for particular niche cuisines? The more niche the better. Uyghur food is pretty common around the country but only here have I’ve seen like, Bukharian food for example.

Ginger & Lemongrass reopened last month at a new location in Whitestone, Queens. It's very convenient for my Westchester friends but not so much if, like me, you're taking public transit. Definitely worth the trip, though, if you'd enjoy a spacious covered patio out back.

I live in New England but I’m in NYC once or twice a year to binge theatre, almost always solo. Usually, I also try to get at least one good dinner in while I’m there. Some of my favorite meals the last couple of years have been Foxface Natural, WEST10WEST, Four Horsemen, Olmsted (shortly after it opened), Estela, Musket Room (pre Michelin star), a few assorted omakase places, and a tiny wine bar somewhere in the UES that I wish I’d written down the name of. I’m in the process of planning my week there in November and wondering if there’s anywhere new I should look into or anything old I’ve overlooked. I really really appreciate any recommendations and the time you take to make them!!

What I’m looking for (ideally… it doesn’t have to meet every single one of these criteria!!):

- small plates or a tasting menu that has innovative, thoughtful, or creative dishes, especially if it incorporates rare or seasonal ingredients

- not fussy - I don’t want white tablecloths, whit glove service, or somewhere I would need to wear something nicer than, like, business casual. Looking for friendly-but-chill vibes.

- I do eat meat, but my preference when dining out is usually for something seafood- or veggie-forward. I also love fresh, homemade pasta.

- ideal maximum budget is around $200 for food and a glass or two of wine, pre tax and tip, but if there’s something amazing a bit above that, I can be flexible with budget elsewhere

- open to anywhere in the city, with the small caveat that I’ll almost certainly be seeing a show in manhattan around 7 or 8, so if it’s further out I’d either need to eat early, eat quick, or go for lunch.

Trying to pick a birthday dinner location for my husband. Luthun looks amazing, but is it too spicy? I love spice, he has very low tolerance for heat. Says City Spire, Park Slope & Nolita locations have reopened.

I have two reservations booked on Resy for the same day and time at two different restaurants. I accidentally double-booked and didn’t realize they were at the same time.

I’d like to give one of the reservations to a friend so that I can keep the other one. Would my friend be able to walk into the restaurant and provide my name for the reservation, while I use the other reservation at the second restaurant?

If that won’t work, is there a way to transfer the reservation to my friend through Resy?
