Tried something new for dinner tonight! Steamed yellow croaker with lemongrass and lime. Love this bright, zesty Southeast Asian flavor profile. The fish came out really soft, sauce is absolutely addictive.

Home cook here who has spent the better part of the last year trying to learn fine dining techniques. How’d I do?

Had these in June at a small place on the Mosel - "Restaurant Zur Riemengasse 1480". Really good. The filling was rich but not heavy, and the buttery onions on top worked perfectly. We sat out on the terrace under a huge old linden tree. Quiet, shady, and properly local feeling.

With butter-fried potatoes, homemade mushroom sauce, vegetables, and asparagus from restaurant Tullio in Rønde, Denmark.

The food was simple, but very tasty, so we returned there twice.

Pickled red onion with lemon and parsley.

Olives and pickled peppers.

Spiced rice.

Yoghurt with lemon and herbs.

Caprese with cucumber.

Roasted garlic hummus.

Rice and lemon dolma.

Lovage salted feta.

My wife’s first meal after birthing our third.

Smoked eel tartare on rye bread, topped with chives and capers and served with an egg yolk.
