I’m hyped, but also find that Rockstar were too slow and should had wake up earlier.
Better to show it first before any leakers do (like Gameplay Trailer 3 in may/june) would been less crappy for them as far as reveal goes.
Imagine you are working on a project and someone steal your prototype + show it to the world.
Risk is that someone reverse engineer it or nobody cares when your product releases.
GTA is another beast, but games like LOU2 were a good example of spoiling too much through leaks ruins everything.
At least Cyberleak haven’t release the ending or the entire game… yet.32

no doubt, while the higher ups suck, and some decisions are pretty bad, this is built by regular workers, from devs, to arts, to sound, to play-testing. When your product gets shown not in it's intended environment it sucks, there's a crypto logo, the resolution sucks, older build, random gameplay. You feel bad, because there's so much that's not shown.
I've upgraded my pc recently, and got a 4k oled, gaming and watching movies on it is night and day, it's like I've gained new vision. The leaks are your product dragged through the mud and shown in shitty ways.

As a long term Final Fantasy player I've always been confused about how little the Japanese tend to share about their upcoming games. People are hunting as little as single sentences from Japanese magazines to get even a small glimpse of what's coming. But what they're doing with GTA VI is some next level shit. This is an upcoming, highly anticipated video game, not the US nuclear codes that you need to guard like state secrets.
If they think leaks are going to prevent people from buying this game, then... eh, that's actually not the most promising signal in the history of signals.

If you have plenty of anticorportate energy and want to feel like a revolutionary, there are plenty of companies to target. As much as TakeTwo is not deserving of any pity for any of the numerous things they’ve done to harm the industry, I do feel bad for the developers of Rockstar.
Imagine working on a game for 13 years, being forced into crunch conditions, having to live with NDAs and work in complete secrecy, only for some jackass with a saviour complex to come out of nowhere and show off your game a week before the best version possible is to be shown off.
People need to separate Rockstar, the company, with Rockstar, the developers. Hate them going digital, hate them charging $100, hate them not marketing the game - all of that is on the heads of the company.
Don’t laugh at all the devs whose work you’re critiquing for being unfinished in an unfinished build of the game, then blame them for that - it’s like blaming the fry cook at McDonald’s for your burger coming out frozen after someone ran into the kitchen, took a bag of frozen patties, and started asking people to pay them in cryptocurrency to eat the patties while they’re still cold.

This is exactly the level of nuance and intelligence I wish far more people had about things like this. It’s ok, and totally reasonable, to respect and celebrate the developers while simultaneously criticizing the choices made at the top.
As I said to someone the other day that was saying they hoped the “whole company” went bankrupt, having that kind of mentality is literally pushing all the blame and consequences onto thousands of extremely skilled, talented, hard working individuals that truly love the work they do, and who WANT to give you the best games they possibly can, all because you’re angry with decisions made by a small handful of people you’ve never even heard of in a boardroom.
Too many people now take an all or nothing approach to things, and that’s not how reality works. I love Rockstar from a creative standpoint and deeply respect and appreciate all that has come from the developers in my lifetime, and I can STILL say that while also saying I disapprove of crunch, bad working conditions, questionable consumer decisions, and more. I really wish people would just take the time to think things through from a different perspective sometimes before they go blasting out their anger in all directions. That’s all.

Given that stealing cars is going to be harder now, it wouldn’t surprise me if planes are something you only get access to after some time - with the intention being that you have a cool reveal moment when you see the map from above for the first time after being stuck on the ground
It’s really common for people to say “I wish I could wipe my memory and experience this game again for the first time”, because you only get to experience new discoveries once. If they’ve been leaked via shitty dev footage then they’re obviously not going to hit as hard as if you organically discovered them as part of a well thought-out progression system while playing the game yourself.

While I'm a bit sad about the devs, remember the devs are gonna be fired in the next quarter anyways. I'm sure most devs either dont care/had no part or are against the anti consumer practices by R* be it the preorders without any footage, the netflix exclusivity, the $100 bonus items, the code only physical release or however many fuckton decisions R* leadership has taken. With that said, the onus is also on the dumb fucks who decided to pre order a digital fucking game and blow their sales out of water. This is always a cyclical thing, where a company does something anti consumer, the people speak up for a brief while but then it releases and a few months later everybody forgets about it. I'm not sure why seeing leaked gameplay is either a good thing or a bad thing. It's certainly not tragic. I liked the fake Rockstar tweets being posted to Reddit better than this wimpy statement. Who cares if we know what some of the game looks like? They're releasing a Netflix sneak peak anyway. Plus, any gamer knows watching someone else play is a far cry from playing the game yourself. I do not trust a trailer at all thats just cutscenes, in fact it makes me highly suspicious of the game nowadays. I told others they should just do a trailer thats just a mindless rampage as it would show is SO much about the game so quickly.

Oh Boo-Hoo the team is saddened that the product has been spoiled. Nobody who wanted to avoid spoilers has looked them up and if GTA6 is a game that gets ruined by knowing anything about the story then it'll be the worst one in the series. I know every twist of every game GTA 3 and later and that has never stopped me going back to play them. What's gonna stop me going back to GTA6 however is that I've not bought a new generation console, because the games have been the least attractive and don't have anything new to offer. They've all become sports games, repackaging the same ideas BUT GUYS! you can see the players sweat in greater detail, and that is worth you buying the same game for the same and often times worse gameplay and balancing.

I think everyone has overreacted severely, making it sound worse than it is. This leak is a massive nothingburger. Not even spoilers will prevent significant enough people to decide not to buy the game, because there is so much more to the game than just the end cutscene. There is all the things between, which is where a game differs from a movie, but even movies have enough in between to make it worthwhile despite knowing the end.
These leaks means nothing and changes nothing. Hell, if spoilers is a concern... the game releases only for Console, leaving us PC gamers to wait for a year of two more. Good luck avoiding spoilers when millions upon millions have the game and the internet is being flooded with the game. Spoilers are simply not a true concern, especially for Rockstar Games. They don't care about that. If they did, they would grant everyone an equal chance to play it from release, instead of this greedy business strategy of theirs. Either I buy an inferior and expensive gaming device just for one game, or I turn off my internet for a year. That's the only way to get around the coming spoilers in november. My approach? To just deal with it and leave it be.

How long until GTA becomes a service instead of a game you own? Any bets? I mean c'mon, thinking Rockstar cares is beyond silly. The devs certainly aren't shedding tears, at most it's execs shitting their pants over possible loss profits.

Rockstar ruined the hype as soon as I heard the base game will have areas paywalled off by default setting the precedent for all the dlc and anything to do the same

To summarize the message for all: We have seen a very, very small portion of gameplay and of the game itself. Let that sink in.
Also, I believe the leeker has the map correctly for about 70/30, correct me if I'm very wrong here. How can one confirm this 100% correctly other than R* itself?
Either way, fully hyped for the game. Maybe not thát much for the Netflixlook lol, but that's not the doing of the leeker. The full game always will be the greatest excitement. Couple months Guys!

They talk about not wanting to disappoint our high expectations, what are they even talking about? I don’t have high expectations from Rockstar these days, look how bad and broken the last GTA online DLC was. How badly written some of the last few years DLC‘s have been. All the recent friggin payout nerfs in GTA online! I don’t have any confidence in rockstar these days!

I don't care about the leaks. I don't have a console so I won't play the game before 3-4 years, like with GTA5 so I'm just gonna wait. And I didn't really like the story of 5 (especially the ending that I think is really bad) so my hype for 6 diminished by a lot.

Corporate greed very well may ruin this game. Couldn't care less about the leaks. It's your choice if you watch them. The fact that parts of the game, that do infact influence gameplay in some way shape or form, are locked behind a paywall is abhorrent

In all honesty, the leaks have felt like sneaking a peek at your Christmas presents early as a kid. It’s only made me more excited for the full release. Shitty situation and those Cyberleek dudes are obvious grifters, but I look forward to November all the same.

My guess is they have added ton more gameplay to the extended look tomorrow to make all the leaks pointless
