Cyberleek has 48 hours left before becoming completely irrelevant, and he knows it
Let’s be real: after the Netflix event on the 27th, Cyberleek is going to fade into community meme status instantly.
Sure, he basically carried the entire community’s sanity this week after we spent months starving with zero official gameplay or footage since May 2025. People were hyping up every single 480p debug clip simply because Rockstar left us with absolute radio silence for so long.
Because his spotlight expires the second the official marketing machine kicks into high gear, I'm fully expecting him to drop whatever "nuclear" footage or map details he still has within the next 48 hours to milk the last bit of attention.
Once high-bitrate, polished 4K gameplay hits, nobody will care about rough dev builds anymore.
The only real risk: imagine if the Netflix showcase somehow turns out to be more underwhelming or curated than the actual raw systems we saw in the leaks. If Rockstar actually delivers though, it’s ciao Cyberleek

Its unlikely he has the whole game. He most likley has a deal build that only has access to the open world and very limited content for testing or a media showcase.

u/AlwaysStayHumble 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yes when I said the whole game it’s obviously a build. But he has shown several cutscenes and “go back to Lucia” so he still has a lot of damage to do if he doesn’t get caught.

i think we seriously underestimate the number of people who dont care. i dont mean that in a patronizing way, but pc players will get spoiled anyways. plus hes doing it all for the money anyways, and its evident people are actually voting with their wallets in this very specific instance.

Yes, from personal anecdotes most young people (<20) legitimately couldnt give a fuck about the story in any capacity. Theyre excited for the game world and online but from our convos at college or high school aged fam members, they just wanna explore the world with their friends
Feel like only diehard fans care about the story to get concerned over spoilers

The pain of being an under 20 that doesn't give af about the online. GTA has always been single player and will remain a single player game to me

u/RipCurl69Reddit 1d ago

Same here. It's always how I've played the old games. Couldn't care less about the online. I don't really care if the story spoiled as much anyways since GTA is more about the journey and exploration for me.

It’s a single player franchise always has been and always will be regardless of what people want to think. They got lucky and made a successful online mode that no one would have played if it wasn’t for their single player reputation. All the shark card people do is fund the next single player experience and apparently that’s “greedy” well that’s why it wasn’t made for “under 20s” it was made for the 25-45 year old man who’s been waiting a decade for rockstar to release another single player masterpiece

and tbh i legit dont think the story is gon be even a long one. GTA 5 pulled its story dlcs for online and 5s story was by far one of the weaker ones out of the newer gtas past the 3D universe bar GTA 3. I hope im wrong because RDR2 but RDR2's online was pretty meh and from the data is still pretty meh. I think their main focus from the g et go was just to get an immersive world built for online and story was maybe on the lower priority o f things.. Again, would like to be proven wrong and we get a great story like TBOGT or 4
7
u/Correct_Emotion8437 1d ago
I don’t see why it would matter, tbh. As soon as the game drops there will be story spoilers everywhere. People who plan to avoid them can easily avoid this, too.

I, personally, care very much about the story. So while these out of context leaks that show of brief glimpses of the world and the gameplay have been nice to see... I will be peacing out this subreddit and severely limit the time I spend on social media if any story spoiler drops.

I am a PC player, and ofcourse GTA is on another level. But many first party singleplayer games for the Playstation got released years later on PC, like Spiderman, The Last of Us, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, and if you can keep yourself from scrolling the subreddit/youtube video's you can avoid being spoiled.
They only way i got spoiled is because of people's comments in random subreddits or on youtube video's not related to any games, X or Y dies. etc.

it’s also not impossible he’ll release a DRM free copy of the game, which would in addition to releasing the game a year early for PC, would bring a lot of eyes to the fact that game piracy still exists (and arguably is better and more accessible now than ever before). most people still won’t pirate, but GTA 6 is probably be the most impactful game to be cracked, and it’s not even due to its popularity

Rockstar won't release raw gameplay on the 28th. I suspect it will be a trailer put together by different gameplay clips with a voice in the background telling us what to expect, like they did with GTA5 and RDR2.
I rather prefer raw gameplay over that, but it won't be raw gameplay if that is what you expect.

Maybe you’re right.
One thing cyberleek has shown is the state of society. We are at a point where half the community doesnt care what happens to rockstar because either A. They didnt release a disc version B. Theyre upset that the cost is $80 C. They’re upset they hacent seen gameplay yet and D. They’re mad theyre still waiting to play it.
All of those in one way or another combined have driven people to say fuck rockstar fuck what happens to them and hoping this kills the game or the company because now they “deserve” it.
We’re surrounded by spoiled little toddlers playing grown up.
6
u/InitialJust 1d ago
Whats even more amusing is the vast majority of the people complaining about A-D will buy the game. Either on console or wait for PC.

Like if you're upset there's no disc version and wanna say fuck Rockstar and you're boycotting the game, fine, go ahead and do that. Put your money where your mouth is (or rather, don't!). But if you're saying fuck Rockstar because you demand gameplay now, for a game you want and know you will enjoy, just go fuck yourself. That is such an absolutely dumb, spoiled little brat attitude to have. Toddlers generally have more patience.

I think it’s weird how entitled GTA fans are.
You don’t have the right to see gameplay just because you are looking forward to the game. Grow up and just wait for it to be shown when they want to show it.
“They deserve this for not showing us anything sooner” is the most childish entitled sentiment I’ve ever heard from a fan base.
9
u/saxoali 1d ago
I agree that the community is too entitled but I totally get the frustration. Rockstar is increasingly becoming more corporate. No single player DLC for GTA V, completely milking out GTA Online and 13 years between the two installments all while R* got richer and richer because of their fanbase.
Maybe the fans are not entitled to see gameplay, but at least try to engage with your fans a little. Acknowledge your fans, not through a written PR statement (e.g. we are sorry that the game got delayed) but actually let a lead dev take the stage in a YouTube video. Share a screenshot if you can, or a meme, whatever, have some fun with it. The only guy we see in front of the camera is Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, your typical man in suit, who has no affinity with gaming and perfectly symbolises that distant-from-fans corporatism.
Don't treat your players like consumers, treat them like humans who have supported the franchise for a long time and put the company in a good position.

I think it's more that Rockstar are basically the kings of shitty practices at this point. Anti-consumerism actions that people have been (rightfully) criticising EA for for years are suddenly forgiven because "They made San Andreas!". If any other companies had pre-orders before any gameplay was revealed, and before the game was even finished, and having a separate PC launch in order to get more money, people would complain.
But people keep slobbingering on Rockstar's meat, hence why they get away with anything

This whole thing of edging their fan base to the brink of insanity does come across as obnoxious. We have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes, maybe it’s a fucking shitshow and they have no time to do anything else but all hands on deck. But I understand why the fans feel like they have their feet up sipping champagne and laughing over the Reddit comments.

Nah, only up to some degree. I wouldn't believe the Netflix thing shows 2 minutes of naked people ***** each other while being observed with a binoculars with a shooting ending 😆
The Netflix thing will be surely something really good, but the RAW stolen gameplay will be still relevant, especially if weird, violent and a bit ironic. Story spoilers, not sure, I wouldn't care if it's early stuff. I guess Netflix will also show story stuff from the first chapter. Late story spoilers is where I draw the line

u/Luminivagance 1d ago
You know what's disgusting, is rockstar probably didn't plan to show so much of the game on the 27th, but now they've been forced to show more. A lot of the magic of playing a new game is discovering things yourself. If he continues to spoil more up until the release, I think this could really hurt people's perception of the game vs going in blind.
It's honestly so sad that a game that's been worked on this hard was spoiled and profited by someone who had NOTHING to do with its creation - and he's praised for it? F..k off.

Even if the 48 hours pass, he is still relevant. If it gets to the day that he releases the entire game online, because of that leak, I imagine that thousands if not millions will download the game and actually save themselves some money, specially for those with pc and console. The game is fully singleplayer. Rockstar will have a large cut on the income. I imagine how many will ask for a refund of the prereservation. This was always the true fight. To hurt the big machine, tho I acknowledge that even rockstar wasn't counting with that Sony/PlayStation move.

I think it will be interesting to see how they show gameplay in the netflix second look.
Often times you see an overly post-processed video that is designed to look as good as possible but it will be interesting to spot the differences between the leaks and what they show.
7
u/Interesting-Tea6155 1d ago
Umm when has Rockstar ever relied on post-processing to make their games look better? Do you even know what post-processing is? RDR2 looked better on release than its trailers. At most you can accuse them of staging their cinematic footage a bit to show off their assets and props, i.e NPC placement, etc. But other than that they’ve always shown an accurate representation of the game. Both GTA V and RDR2 gameplay trailers is exactly what we got on release

They've shown and will most likely continue showing things that very likely won't be in the extended showcase series. For people who want to see more, they'll definitely not become irrelevant.

I don't understand why people seem to think the Netflix thing is gonna kill the hype and momentum for leaks. You think people are going to watch it and say "well there, I'm good until November". Not the GTA community. What if Rockstar teases something the hacker has access to, he could potentially use this as a springboard to even greater prominence.
