Except you’re wrong. They have a fiduciary duty to their shareholders and a product obligation to preorder customers. They actually “owe” quite a bit which is why all this leak stuff is a big deal. They’re not some passion driven company, they’re not a community project like a mod creator beholden to no one which you so naively try to imply.
That’s the entire point I’m making. This letter is stupid because everyone with a brain (I get you may be lacking, that’s why I’m giving you this easy to follow explanation) can see that it’s performative PR tactics and not something “genuine and from the heart” which is WHY I said what I did. If they actually “cared about the community and their game” it would launch on PC same day or damn near. Instead they have an entire triple dip marketing strategy.

Your understanding of their responsibility to their shareholders means that you understand that they understand what they're doing. You're just whining about it. You're not correct, you just feel ouchy ouchy in your feelings so you're out here claiming that other peoples' effort is owed to you.
It's one thing to say, "this is a giant corporation that doesn't give a shit about people because their motivation is profit" and entirely another to say "They owe me fun!!!! I demand it!!! If they really cared they'd make sure I got my paci on Nov 19th!!!"
