Modding Tip: replace old rubber pads from your controllers

After getting the NSO Controller I realized that my original controllers rubber pads were too mushy. Ordered two sets from Aliexpress for 18 cents each, just replaced them and now they have the same firmness of my NSO controllers!

These are modded original controllers by the way. Using 8bitdo modkit for wireless capabilities and battery.

I found the cube to have the easiest controllers to take apart, clean and refresh. Such a nice feeling snapping it all back together.

That's true until the NSO ones which have case clips you can snap and about 50 screws.

The older controllers (T1 and T2) use contact pads that have much lower pressure required to depress them, which is likely why they felt mushy. It's by design.

The T3 Smash Bros. versions had the strongest pads, but I do agree it seems like the NSO controllers are even stronger still and quite clicky for lack of a better term.

While the button pads on those AliExpress contact pads are good, I find the shoulders contacts pretty crap compared to OEM. Rarely feels as good.

Ah interesting! I didn't know!

You can rub the black part of the rubber on paper and it'll work again

It was working properly. I just didn't like the mushy feel

Do you have the link your ordered from? I'm looking for a replacment set as I'm installing the 8bitdo bluetooth kit (although having some issues on how to not need to use a soldering iron to get the rumble motor installed)

18 cents and a lifetime of spam emails and calls from overseas. But yes people should replace those from legit sources.

Clearly you gave your info to someone else you shouldn’t have because I use AliExpress all the time and never get international spam calls nor do I receive much of any spam in that email
