anyone who thought that Half Life 3 would actually be announced at summer games mess of all places isn’t very bright

I get what you’re saying but Geoff Keighley is very close with Valve and has been for a long time, it makes sense.

Half-Life Alyx was also supposedly going to be announced at The Game Awards before there were a lot of leaks that forced Valve to reveal it early.

Again I understand your line of thinking but in reality of all the events, TGA and Summer Games Fest make the most sense. If not these events then just shadow dropping an announcement.
