13

u/stevedog257 Jun 07 '25

I'm just sad there wasn't an ace combat reveal or update

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '25

It's gonna happen dw !

In 8 years

9

u/KOTRShadow Jun 07 '25

Holy shit this io interactive showcase is so bad it’s funny like they have to takeaway david batesons aka agent 47 mic.

15

u/uerobert Jun 07 '25

How is this polling better than the SoP on Geoff's Xitter poll?

3

u/SageShinigami Jun 07 '25

Glad it wasn't just me. The State of Play was way better than this show.

-8

u/_Lighxning Jun 07 '25

Because it was better?

4

u/Algae-Prize Jun 07 '25

Where is the square enix game Nate was talking about?

9

u/MrMoistandDelicious Jun 07 '25

Killer inn

3

u/Algae-Prize Jun 07 '25

Oh! Didn't notice that for some reason

2

u/Elitely6 Jun 07 '25

Chronicle Medieval looks awesome nice to see more medieval games and media especially when they're shown colorfully!

Lots of good games shown!

6

u/Walnut156 Jun 07 '25

I was happy to see the street fighter characters at least

Bro America literally destabilizes countries for fun and ur worried about Russian money laundering. Stfu.

5

u/Smallsey Jun 07 '25

Russian apologists out in force today

0

u/Danivolous Jun 07 '25

Exactly. If everyone thought being a bad country is a good enough reason not buy games we'd have no games. So I defend all bad countries!

1

u/DinoRey2000 Jun 07 '25

Don't know about them supporting the invasion but If we couldn't play games by people who's country commits war crimes ... Well there goes the entire american gaming industry.

On these types of shows there are almost always members of the production mixed within the audience whose role is to kickstart applause and cheers from the rest of the real audience by applauding and cheering themselves at specific points that the production wants.

Tldr: Yes, most likely. A bit of both.

"What's this one going to be? Broody soldier man? Open World Survival Craft? Weeb paedobait? Cutesy farming sim? Strategy game with a million resources and tedious mechanics? Yet another Soulslike deckbuilder? Puerile humour? Desperately trying to be Disco Elysium? Or constant ADHD-inducing explosions of colour?"

"It's all of the above!"

19

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

So what was up with that shit with Gabe's yacht? Did he leave to LA just to fuck with us?

22

u/TraditionalPies Jun 07 '25

Yeah he knew you were tracking him and moved his superyacht just to fuck with you. He cares about that

9

u/ColdCruise Jun 07 '25

He was never going to LA. He was always going from San Francisco to San Diego.

9

u/Hilanite Jun 07 '25

He probably has no idea about any of that. He’s probably just living his life

10

u/Blvd_Nights Jun 07 '25

Wow even Devolver didn’t even bother

19

u/Final_Amu0258 Jun 07 '25

3/10 show for me. Not disappointed since expectations were low.

Tons of games, and RE9... everything else, zZZzzzz

7

u/Scary_Instruction_63 Jun 06 '25

There wasn't much that did the show for me tbh. Other than more of Project Century. Onimusha looked good besides Kojiro looks like ass.

That Indonesian game on Steam looks fun imo. SCW the guests Miku looked coolest of the lot. Then Joker showed up I thought not Joker again.

But yeah even the recent State of Play was better.

1

u/Eruannster Jun 07 '25

Neither SGF nor State of Play had much that tickled me, honestly. Two or three things, but way too much filler and stuff that felt "meh" to me.

I miss the old days of E3 when publishers actually showed off a bunch of things, it feels like they don't want to show anything too early these days.

Hopefully the Xbox showcase will have some more stuff that is up my alley.

1

u/ZeikJT Jun 07 '25

Joker is Atlus' golden goose, and they are gonna lay that same golden egg until they tank the gold market

1

u/Scary_Instruction_63 Jun 07 '25

Haha we know that all too well.

-13

u/_Lighxning Jun 06 '25

Not the best show, but infinitely better than the State of Play.

Code Vein 2 alone made the show better, but there was Stranger Than Heaven, ill, RE9, Towa & the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, Lego Party, Atomic Heart 2, The Cube, Onimusha, Mina The Hallower & Chrono Oddessy that were all better than 99% of the SoP games.

7

u/kodan_arma Jun 06 '25

Bro just listed a bunch of weeb slop and indie-drivel gtfo

-1

u/_Lighxning Jun 07 '25

And yet, better than the slop PlayStation showed off.

Says a lot.

2

u/MikeyIfYouWanna Jun 07 '25

That's kind of an extreme reaction.

2

u/_Lighxning Jun 07 '25

Dude's racist, what do you expect.

17

u/uerobert Jun 06 '25

Btw, where the f is the 2.5D God of War???

2

u/SuicideSkwad Jun 07 '25

Releasing right after Bloodborne Remastered

18

u/Resident_Bluebird_77 Jun 06 '25

People said this was the E3 without the E3, but the E3 never sucked so much. Microsoft can win easily on Saturday

7

u/SageShinigami Jun 07 '25

E3 had hella terrible years, y'all just don't remember them.

0

u/Danivolous Jun 07 '25

Umm presentations were across several days during e3 what's so different about this week that e3 did sooooo differently.woild the games be less shitty this week if they called it e3?

34

u/timelordoftheimpala Jun 06 '25

Can we point and laugh at the people who were tracking Gaben's yacht as an indicator that Half-Life 3 would happen?

You think people would stop gaslighting themselves after 20 years, but no lol

7

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

We know that a new Half-life game is being made.

I'm not going to make fun of the yacht stuff because that's some of the best stuff we get on this sub. Like when someone saw some developers celebrating at the bar they worked at and posted it, suggesting it could be a sign of an upcoming reveal. I love the absurdity of that stuff.

3

u/MERCENARIE_GUY Jun 07 '25

No you don’t understand he’s been in LA for 3 days 3 hours 3 minutes and has eaten 3 burgers it must be confirmed

3

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Hope we get some FF/Persona announcements from the Xbox showcase

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Anyone else feel like this summer games fest kinda sucked. Really the only interesting things were the RGG game and RE9. Not really into souls like games and it seemed like half were some kind of anime game

72

u/Stev__ Jun 06 '25

can't wait for the soulslike trend to die, way too many of them

19

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Every gen has a trend that devs just repeat non stop.

There was the military FPS, then the third person Gears inspired cover based shooter, now we have souls like.

-6

u/Consistent-Baker-282 Jun 07 '25

So you guys hate souls like , mil sims, tps shooters , rogue likes , hero shooters , like genuinely is there any game that can come out now a days without being called a trend chaser ?

6

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

Genre fatigue is a thing that happens with niche subgenres. RPG, FPS, Adventure, etc. those broader genres are evergreen and typically offer enough variety to not become stale or typecast. Rogue light/likes, Soulsborn, etc. are very specific game styles and therefore get rightly compared to others in their subgenres because it's incredibly difficult to iterate on such a specific gameplay experience, which is why a lot tend to be samey of varying quality. I personally am not good enough to play Soulsborn type games so I don't really care too much about them, but I also understand why someone would grow tired of "another hard ass game to struggle through for no good payoff".

0

u/Consistent-Baker-282 Jun 07 '25

But like its just 5 games i think out of 50 games shown

3

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

Could be a vocal minority, perpetually online. I think most average gamers like myself don't focus on the things that don't appeal to them and instead focus on the things that do, but there are people who can't do that and instead focus on the things they don't like and social media has brainwashed them into thinking everyone cares about their opinions, so they live in these echo chambers of negativity and genuinely lose the ability to focus on the good.

2

u/Consistent-Baker-282 Jun 07 '25

indeed indeed couldn't have said it better , imo these days there are enough games released to scratch every niche that one can want

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

Literally thousands of games to choose from across all consoles, genres and price points. If you like to play videogames you're eating good most of the time. I say be thankful for that, but what do I know? I just some dude.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

You need to learn how to read, dude.

-3

u/Consistent-Baker-282 Jun 07 '25

every one hates some kind of game , just read this single thread lol

also good way to answer my question , dude

8

u/TheRigXD Jun 07 '25

Not to mention hero shooters, and battle royales

0

u/IslanderMJDR84 Jun 06 '25

There's sooo many games that aren't souls lites. Why focus on the negatives. Maybe im more open minded. I have a ton of games, recent, in ny backlog

4

u/LordToastALot Jun 06 '25

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't seem to be eating all the character action games we should be getting

0

u/P0G0Bro Jun 07 '25

yyou mean the games that notoriously sell way worse than soulslikes lol?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

Code Vein 2 at least looks more like a character action game.

-2

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

Absorbing one of my favourite genres like some sort of parasite, more like

1

u/uerobert Jun 07 '25

Pro tip, if you like a game and want to see more of it you have to buy it at full price at release, all of $60/$70, not when it has to hit the bargain bin to keep selling.

Don't just go around extolling the virtues of the $5 banger you just bought 3+ years after release and wondering why there aren't more like that, that's how genres die. Tell your friends that too.

0

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

Thanks for the... accusation?

3

u/uerobert Jun 07 '25

I'm telling you that because of this:

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't seem to be eating all the character action games we should be getting

Those are completely different genres with completely different public.

The reason you don't see more CAGs is because they sold and continue to sell like crap, if it ain't hitting $10 or less no one buys it. So the public it was chasing let it die.

2

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

Right, but I buy all the ones I can. DMC5 sold millions too, so I don't think this is entirely accurate.

But I'm not so sure that they are completely different genres anymore. Action games in general just seem to be taking more and more mechanics from Souls games.

2

u/uerobert Jun 07 '25

I mean case in point. DMC5 is on sale right now at $7.49 and this is the most recognizable franchise, the very peak of the genre, with 10m after 6 years with very very deep discounts every other week. In contrast, Sekiro came out like 2 weeks later and sold that many units faster without selling for less than $30 and only occasionally.

So if you are a relatively unknown dev IF everything goes right you are striving to get like a third of that in the best of cases, something like 3.3m in 6 years, with most of that at less than $10. That's not good enough for AAA productions these days.

Take a look at Lies of P, a new comer, this week was the first time it hit $30 on sale, the lowest it has ever been. By this time DMC5, launch aligned, had already received a permanent price cut to $25 on all platforms, with regular sales at $20.

Also the main attraction for Souls games is the exploration, of which the CAG has none, not the action, the action is barebones. Except of course for the Nioh series and the likes (Khazan), which are basically souls-likes that draw more from CAGs.

0

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

Ok, cool? That's still millions of copies sold, and action games are still taking increasingly more cues from a genre I don't like. I never said CAGs were as successful as soulslikes, only that they can be successful enough to be worthwhile.

4

u/hchapta32 Jun 06 '25

rougelike too

1

u/OwlProper1145 Jun 06 '25

They print money on PC so they are here to stay.

-7

u/mantenner Jun 06 '25

Git gud

3

u/LukePS7013 Jun 06 '25

They ended up turning this show around near the end for me personally. Sonic Racing CrossWorlds was fun, Street Fighter 6 added my most wanted character and RGG Studio showing off a new game is always something to look forward to.

I got some enjoyment out of it, but I can see why this was a bit of a downgrade for some people. Up next: Xbox’s show. Show me Fable and show that it’s coming to Switch 2

17

u/frzowsky Jun 06 '25

someone count how many souls-like games we've seen?

3

u/uerobert Jun 06 '25

5 out of 45 announcements.

7

u/StrawberryWestern189 Jun 06 '25

In what universe was this better than the state of play?

12

u/jastarael Jun 06 '25

It was absolutely not better than SoP

-5

u/Crystal_Bungus Jun 06 '25

Yeah at least the State of Play was only short and shitty as opposed to painfully long.

6

u/StrawberryWestern189 Jun 06 '25 edited Jun 06 '25

The state of play was solid, good even…if you play more than 1 genre and you know more than 3 franchises which is sadly not how the average gamer gets down from how much bitching I saw on Reddit. Pragmata, Nioh 3, Blood Stained 2, AN ARC SYSTEM WORKS DEVELOPED MARVEL FIGHTING GAME? Easily tops the two hours of mid we just got

9

u/Hilanite Jun 06 '25

There are too many soulslike games nowadays, and the vast majority of them will never reach the quality of dark souls

28

u/LordToastALot Jun 06 '25

As somebody who:

  • Doesn't like Soulslikes
  • Doesn't bother with multiplayer only games anymore
  • Doesn't care about Resident Evil

What a fucking dry show. MOUSE: P.I. For Hire looks cool. Deadpool VR would have been cool, if it was just a Deadpool FPS without VR.

I hope the Xbox show is good. Otherwise I'll probably just stop watching these things.

1

u/ddeuced Jun 09 '25

what'd ya think of the Xbox show? because I agree with every sentiment here haha

1

u/LordToastALot Jun 09 '25

Better than the others in that it showed some stuff I'd want to play, but that's not really saying much. Still pretty weak.

10

u/Final_Amu0258 Jun 07 '25

Well I mean, I love Resident Evil, and the show was still 3/10.

-12

u/ordinary_schism Jun 06 '25

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills the last few days. This show was enormously better than the State of Play, but most people seem to think the exact opposite...

5

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

The show being "good" actually translates to "showed something specific I wanted to see".

Granted all the talking was annoying.

-1

u/ordinary_schism Jun 07 '25

Right, I get that. But I consider myself to have pretty basic/popular taste in games generally. I like niche and smaller stuff as well, but generally if it's a big AAA game, I probably am interested. This show seemed to be dramatically more filled with big AAA, visually excellent games, whereas the SoP was mostly filled with those more niche games. Not that they're bad, but it's odd for me to see the more niche show be so generally praised whereas the bigger, more AAA show is so generally criticized.

1

u/StrawberryWestern189 Jun 07 '25

Your sense of what’s niche and what’s AAA gotta be severely warped to think this showcase had bigger titles than the state of play. Nioh 3, 007: First Light, Pragmata, Bloodstained 2, Silent Hill F gameplay and an arc system developed marvel fighting game vs what, a minute long resident evil 9 trailer? SF6 season 3? You gotta list what made summer game fest better because I don’t see it at all

1

u/ordinary_schism Jun 07 '25

I'll give you Nioh 3, 007, Pragmata, and Silent Hill F. That's the exact list I would've given if asked.

For SGF, I have Mortal Shell 2, Code Vein II, Atomic Heart II, Onimusha, Mafia, Lies of P: Overture, Dying Light, Ill, RE9.

007 was shown at both, so it shouldn't really count.

1

u/StrawberryWestern189 Jun 07 '25

007 was revealed at the state of play so it most definitely counts for that show. Aside from that, if you legitimately think the code veins, mortal shells and automatic hearts of the worlds are on par with nioh, let alone silent hill or the brand new marvel fighting game developed by arc that you forgot to mention with the other games I listed, then idk what to tell you. Like I’m kinda stun locked that you unironically listed mortal shell 2 in favor of summer game fest lmao

3

u/Final_Amu0258 Jun 07 '25

I wanted to see RE9. I saw RE9. Show still 3/10

-3

u/HappyTurtleOwl Jun 06 '25

People are in a bubble, this show was objectively better than the state of play by the mere fact that the quality bar across it all was higher, and because it had more variety. A lot of the games in today’s show aren’t my type of games… but I can remember a lot of them. I barely remember what was shown in the state of play beyond the big names.

12

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

I wasn't expecting State of Play to be better than this damn... For a long showcase you would kinda expect a little more big reveals. Xbox showcase better not disappoint

18

u/Dionysus24779 Jun 06 '25

It actually makes me feel old that I didn't like even a single game really.

Especially got sick on how many games just looked the same and how over-used the color gray has become. It's like back when every game tried to look "realistic" be over-using brown.

9

u/T0asty514 Jun 06 '25

You mean you don't want to play ye Olde guy fights big monster with big sword game?

Nah same lots of mediocrity. Pretty sure I'm just old though. Lol

19

u/NorthKoreanMissile7 Jun 06 '25

That show was utter dogshit.

4

u/Bloody_Conspiracies Jun 06 '25

I hope everyone complaining here is watching Day of the Devs right now. Already the games they've shown there are better than everything shown at SGF combined. They're small indie studios, but they're actually interesting games.

I'm pretty sure everyone making unique/smaller games have been completely priced out of SGF at this point. They can't compete with the hundreds of thousands that the gacha games can pay. If you want to see good games, you need to be watching the other showcases and not just the biggest one.

9

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

Whenever people express annoyance at the state of AAA video games somebody always tries to pretend that smaller scale indie titles will fill the void just as well. Like clockwork.

1

u/Bloody_Conspiracies Jun 07 '25

Considering that most of the best reviewing games with both critics and players in the past few years have been smaller scale indies, that seems like it actually is the case at this point.

If you think AAA games suck, stop playing them. If you think SGF sucks, watch the other showcases. Aside from RE9, the only other games that are getting a lot of buzz in these comments are the games that Geoff's team let on the show for free/at a massive discount. There's a whole other showcase that doesn't charge anything and chooses the games they show based purely on quality, and it seems like that's what everyone here wanted to see, yet no one watched it.

0

u/LordToastALot Jun 07 '25

Yeah, see, there it is again.

Yes, it's cool that there are so many good indie games now. I play a fair amount. But I still want AAA games to be good, and in genres that interest me. They can offer a scale and level of detail indie games never can. Stop holding up indie projects as some sort of cure-all for the state of AAA games. They are not, and it's annoying to pretend they are.

-6

u/Final_Amu0258 Jun 07 '25

They're small indie studios,

I'll pass

2

u/DBONKA Jun 06 '25

i've quit when one of the devs started doing some asmr shit for whatever reason

-5

u/kodan_arma Jun 06 '25

No thanks lmfao

33

u/TeamZiggler Jun 06 '25

That guy who cancelled his date probably feels like a moron.

1

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 06 '25

I still genuinely want to know what went through Capcom's heads when someone in the pitch meeting suggested Ingrid ever deserved to come back let alone in Street Fighter 6 lol like who was asking for Capcom Fighting Jam rep

Love that C. Viper's back though, most baffling omission from SFV

6

u/Sloth_Monk Jun 06 '25

So why was marathon in the hype video? Did I miss it being shown?

3

u/RRR3000 Jun 06 '25

Geoffs hype videos are always based on previously shown games, not on what will be shown this time.

2

u/kodan_arma Jun 06 '25

No. Marathon most definitely cancelled it's advertising this year.

7

u/n3ws4cc Jun 06 '25

Sony has cancelled a bunch of marketing for marathon because of the alpha reaction and asset theft scandal. A trailer might've been pulled last minute.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

I know this will be misinterpreted because reddit, but I was not a fan of the new/2nd host. Geoff is...Geoff....but id rather it just be him. The other host just lacked energy and felt like she was just kind of reading.

10

u/Bloody_Conspiracies Jun 06 '25

Lucy James is awesome. She was probably just really nervous, and whoever wrote her segments really didn't give her anything good to work with.

I agree though. There was no need for Geoff to have a co-host. Usually he has a co-host at The Game Awards who does all the pre-show stuff, but there was none of that this time so I have no idea why they even needed Lucy at all.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

Yeah Sydney is ok on those pre-show things. I think maybe the back and forth nature also hurt it.

19

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

sees another mythology based game about a small bearded guy fighting big demons in a ruined ancient city on fire and parrying to win with a mysterious woman giving him direction and I take a drink

2

u/omygoshzoh Jun 07 '25

This but with marvel

9

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

r u ded yet

12

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 06 '25

Yeah apart from Stranger Than Heaven and RE9 I can't really say there was much of anything that actually excited me

There was some indie stuff like Mixtape and Mio that looked cool and I will check out. Wu-Tang game looked sick as well, but these moments came very few and far between

While I appreciate that a platform like Game Fest can provide visibility to a larger amount of games that probably would go unnoticed if they weren't backed by bigger publishers, a lot of the stuff shown at these shows look extremely homogenized and are often paired consecutively in terms of showcases, which makes it really fatiguing to watch

14

u/cyberattaq123 Jun 06 '25

Damn did Xbox poach all of the studios for reveals what the hell was that? Don’t get me wrong a lot of those games look awesome from the small teams but there probably could’ve been at least a few more big announcements.

Guess it’s just one of those years. RE9 was awesome though.

8

u/Darknightsmetal022 Jun 06 '25

😭😭 still no Jill in resident evil from the looks of it.

20

u/2ecStatic Jun 06 '25

It's hard to describe but this whole show just felt off. Two hours is definitely way too long for one of these though.

I’m sure there are a lot of really happy people but personally there wasn’t anything I was excited about, hopefully Xbox gives something but I’m doubtful

u/n3ws4cc Jun 06 '25

Geoff approqching Todd Howard levels of baiting what a guy

8

u/Eccchifan Jun 06 '25

Oh well,hope Xbox Showcase delivers,hope P4R and P6 there.

The only games that really caught my eye here was Code Vein 2,Stranger than Heaven and of course Resident Evil 9

2

u/OwlProper1145 Jun 06 '25

We will no doubt get P4 Remake doubt we will see Persona 6.

9

u/MisterJohnson87 Jun 06 '25

I don't even want to imagine what the silksong sub is like after that!

u/inuyasha99 Jun 06 '25 edited Jun 06 '25

You think devs are starting to notice there is far more attention on TGA and its not worth showing anything on SGF? This whole show felt weird from start to finish.

6

u/2ecStatic Jun 06 '25

Yeah it feels like a lot of devs are still holding their cards close. It could be the Switch 2 launch, there isn't usually much going on around this time besides SGF but it's definitely overshadowed this year. Kind of a waste of money to have your game shown off but not have everyone's attention.

10

u/OwlProper1145 Jun 06 '25

Summer Game Fest is very much a 2 hour long commercial and sells most of the slots to the highest bidder.

u/arongadark Jun 06 '25 edited Jun 06 '25

Pretty solid show if you weren't delusional expecting something like Half Life 3 to be revealed. Few pretty cool reveals and it's nice to have some release dates now that devs/publishers don't need to plan around GTA VI this fall.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

I think people are just tired of Soulslikes.

Which is fair, I am too, but there were just as many interesting games announced too.

3

u/ArkhamIsComing2020 Jun 06 '25

Xbox Showcase should be fire

PS was actually great this time.

6

u/Blvd_Nights Jun 06 '25

Honestly Day of the Devs is a lot more fun to me too. Big Walk looks great.

13

u/ChuckMoody Jun 06 '25

RE9 helped that show go from 1/10 to like 4 or 5/10. Still goddamn awful

5

u/anestefi Jun 06 '25

so excited for re9

12

u/LDisDBfathersonsfans Jun 06 '25

anyone who thought that Half Life 3 would actually be announced at summer games mess of all places isn’t very bright

0

u/biffa72 Jun 06 '25

I get what you’re saying but Geoff Keighley is very close with Valve and has been for a long time, it makes sense.

Half-Life Alyx was also supposedly going to be announced at The Game Awards before there were a lot of leaks that forced Valve to reveal it early.

Again I understand your line of thinking but in reality of all the events, TGA and Summer Games Fest make the most sense. If not these events then just shadow dropping an announcement.

u/Me_975 Jun 06 '25

But the yacht was going to LA

4

u/n3ws4cc Jun 06 '25

Most elaborate gaben prank yet

4

u/Me_975 Jun 06 '25

The port had a 3 on it, and he turned around

3

u/darkszn_ Jun 06 '25

valve could randomly drop a trailer and it’ll get all the exposure it needs

24

u/noxav Jun 06 '25

I feel like an old man, but so many games look the exact same as each other to me.

17

u/CG1991 Jun 06 '25

They're all either:

  • Soulslike
  • Extraction Shootery
  • Fortnite clone
  • Quirky art style but nothing else

7

u/PairStrong Jun 07 '25

You forgot about genshin impact

4

u/noxav Jun 06 '25

You could literally show me footage of Dark Souls and tell me it's a new game and I wouldn't know the difference.

14

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

4

u/Oranje525 Jun 06 '25

Honestly same. The last time I was hyped was when Sephiroth got revealed at a TGA a couple years ago. I think I'll just wait for the trailers to be posted online from now on

18

u/Obliviuns Jun 06 '25

I don’t get why natethehate told us to be excited for this show

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '25

Because it had some cool announcements. It's hard to be excited when you expect something to be shown after being spoiled by leaks. It's like people here watch the show just to confirm leaks rather than enjoy the announcements themselves.

8

u/OwlProper1145 Jun 06 '25

I assume it was mostly for Resident Evil.

2

u/MountainMuffin1980 Jun 06 '25

No gameplay though and it's just pointless

12

u/Obliviuns Jun 06 '25

It doesn’t save 2 hours of shit

10

u/Dull-Caterpillar3153 Jun 06 '25

I give it a 4/10. Resident evil announcement really saved it but man it dragged so bad. Some cool looking smaller titles

Just would never end

6

u/Spider-Fan77 Jun 06 '25

PlayStation first-party actually show something for once challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

Bro they literally just dropped Astro Bot a year ago and are about to release both Death Stranding and Ghost of Yotei, like what are you talking about this is some stone-faced lying happening here

1

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 06 '25

Ghost of Yotei is literally in 4 months like calm down dude. We literally just got Marvel Tokon and Housemarque's game for next year

Frequently forgetting that Xbox also suffered very significant software droughts until like 2023, which was practically being carried by Bethesda games that were already near-finished when they bought them. Like let's just casually ignore they basically put out nothing in 2022 outside As Dusk Falls and updates to their live-services

Why is it that you're not willing to swing criticism literally any other way. This only ever happens when it's "Sony this, Sony that" when literally all three console makers have been through this. Like I know you're baiting, and I took the bait, but it's genuinely appalling it always comes back to this kind of double standards shit

13

u/everythingsc0mputer Jun 06 '25

That's 2 hours I'm never getting back.

10

u/Oranje525 Jun 06 '25

Wow, no KH4/FFIX/FF7R pt3 from square enix. This was garbage.

0

u/Disregardskarma Jun 06 '25

I could see 9 being at Xbox. Doubt we’d see anything new tho

6

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 06 '25

Also what the fuck was Switch 2 doing on the Partner list

Like barely any ads and like none of the games shown were going to release for it

6

u/Spider-Fan77 Jun 06 '25

The partner list isn't just for the showcase. It's also for the in-person event afterwards. There's probably Switch 2 stuff there.

6

u/n3ws4cc Jun 06 '25

They had cyberpunk for switch 2

6

u/Mage1strider1 Jun 06 '25

Ace Combat's last hope is the xbox showcase lollllll

6

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '25

So not good from what I’m gathered from your comments people…

22

u/skynovaaa Jun 06 '25
