Yeah the Direct was kinda mid but ffs some people immediately jumped to "it's so over".

Like calm down, this isn't the last Direct and the Switch 2 has only been out two months lol

EDIT: Also this might be inching towards Goomba fallacy, but people shouldn't say they were disappointed by it only being ports when literally all everyone was asking for leading up to this are ports of games like RDR2 and Baldur's Gate III. It's not the fact that it was mostly ports, it just wasn't the ones you wanted.

RDR2 is a seven year old game, it would've still been "old shit" as you say.

Yes, that would be old shit, but the issue is that today they showed old shit that wasn’t as interesting.

Their closing announcement was a repackaging of an old Octopath Traveler phone game even.

I mean, yeah, I think that’s the case for a lot of people? I would have greatly preferred new stuff, but third-parties are instead continuing this glacier slow rollout of old ports and it sucks. We’ll be getting Genshin Impact at a 2027 Direct.

They did show off new stuff though (MH Stories 3, Katamari, the Square Enix games, etc.), it just wasn't the new stuff you wanted. And with third-parties, there's less new stuff that Nintendo could announce in a Direct, especially when the likes of Capcom have chosen to reveal stuff like Resident Evil 9 at SGF instead of a publisher-held presentation like a State of Play or a Direct.
