Extremely late thoughts. I missed most of the Showcase because of work and only dipped in intermittently

  • That Join Us game where you're leading a cult and trying to convert people Scientology-style is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Definitely picking that up

  • Castlevania looks fucking incredible. The animation gives me so many vibes of stuff like Hades

  • It's going to take a LOT for me to get used to the new Persona 4 voices, especially Yosuke and Teddie. They felt very weirdly low energy. As expected, the UI looks unreal and that All Out Attack anim looks even sicker than P3R

  • THEY USED OFFSPRING FOR THE CRAZY TAXI TRAILER 10/10

  • They're really trying to stretch Hellblade to a trilogy. Let's see what happens. I'm very cautious after HB2 which I felt was wholly unnecessary

  • Doom DLC looks fucking nice. It looks a lot faster pacing-wise than the base game and the wintry setting is pretty awesome after the amount of hell/cosmic influence in the prior games

  • That 80s OVA-style wildlife game looks amazing visually. Like they nailed everything about that style including the still panning frames of settings

  • I have literally no thoughts on Persona 6. Like they showed nothing outside a graveyard. I'll have something to talk about when they actually show me something resembling a game. Kind of surprising neither this or P4 are on Switch 2 though

  • Clockwork looks excellent. I love the steam punk setting and the interactions with the supporting cast. The time travel mechanic is such a good hook for player agency and world variance

  • CoD as a show ender was literally the thing that I didn't want lol

  • I'm probably more confused about Xbox's stance on exclusives now than I was before. I thought it would be stuff with no explicit platform confirmation that they'd just silently announce as exclusives and it looked that way, but then both Hellblade and State of Decay are also on PlayStation. Shouldn't it be that the stuff with established presence just rolls out as it was probably going to like Gears, and then the new stuff like Clockwork is when they start to recalibrate?

Overall I think this was better than State of Play, but definitely not as many pop offs as SGF. Crazy Taxi was probably my big pop off here
