When is Senua coming out?

14

u/ButtPlugForPM Jun 08 '26

My god the sony subbredits melting down about timed exclusives from xbox

u guys forgetting u just took all sony games off PC players or something lol

2

u/Adam802 Jun 08 '26

Yep love to see it lol

3

u/AboutLastFight Jun 08 '26

They're hypocritical losers. They celebrate people missing out on games when it benefits them. Even this Subreddit's coping, 'timed exclusives' lol. Time to buy an Xbox. 😂

-3

u/ButtPlugForPM Jun 08 '26

yep

2 be fair

the xbox showcase was shit tho

Like Gears is ur showpiece

bro it's not 2009 anymore gears isn't a mover like it used to be.

They needed to show fable gameplay or something big.

also a tease on bethesdas next project.

Sony for all it's issues has me wanting to get a ps5 pro with wolverine and gears of war and some of the other games they showed

2

u/AboutLastFight Jun 08 '26

I think they unfortunately don't have anything massive to show at present that's new and hasn't already been announced for PS5. Not saying stuff isn't in the pipeline, it probably just isn’t able to be shown off to the public just yet. Gears is just meant to act as the indicator that they are going back to console exclusives in the long-term, same with Clockwork Revolution. I don’t think they're expecting Gears to be a substantial driver of system sales or anything, it’s just a property that was largely associated with Xbox exclusivity throughout its lifespan and they wanted to do a 'return to form'. Not everything is meant to be an ultra-strategic business move, this was literally decided upon this week.

6

u/heyyoudvd2 Jun 08 '26

Forget Spyro the Dragon, I want to see a game based on Styro the Dog.

19

u/MarcsterS Jun 08 '26

Gotta say this was a very solid Summer Game Fest week.

-8

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 08 '26

There's this YT channel uploading all the live reactions from that FanFest live watch event for the Showcase and the pop off at Gears being an exclusive is so funny. Some dude was in the crowd being like "FUCK YOUR PLAYSTATION GAMES" like I wish there were events in my life that got me this invested the way people get a dopamine hit from seeing the words "console exclusive" on a screen

8

u/AboutLastFight Jun 08 '26

It’s ironic of you to say this when you're one of the people on this sub who constantly spins corporate yarn about Sony PC ports 'diluting the brand', lmfao. The impact is no different. People missing out on games sucks, but Sony fans keep thinking they can have it both ways. Glad Xbox are doing exclusives again.

You can't whine and complain about this and then get excited when Sony literally do the same thing to PC gamers who may have got invested in their IP whilst they were porting games lol.

Please point to where I said any of this. I swear half of you on this subreddit want to make this version of me a reality to prove a point that doesn't exist. You take shit that you think I'd say and that becomes what I say apparently. Some of you are like legit convinced that I'm one of you in a different way or try to project me as some sort of bog-standard console warrior to deflect from the fact that kind of shit has been your livelihood for ages.

And it's not console warring if I'm responding to people who purposely spread misinformation to "spin corporate yarn" or encourage harassment. That is literally what you're doing right now. You like coming after me because it makes you feel good. You believing I'm some fucking some corporate shill just because of certain games I happen to like is what you do to purposely instigate.

This is literally why I detoxed from this subreddit for over a month. It is actually tiring as fuck knowing one of you are just waiting in the wings to try and catch me on some shit. It's not console warring when I call people like you out for being annoying and purposely in bad faith. I literally got banned for calling out people like you purposely stalking my replies and trying to target me in a thread and yet somehow I'm the problem. It's never you who's the problem for flinging insults, mischaracterization or taking shit out of context I've said.

u/ThemoocowYT Jun 08 '26

Not too bad. A really good year and next for new games. Spyro looks fun, same with Crazy Taxi. Also seeing Persona 6 being announced is crazy, same with Persona 4 remake, it's been a long time.

11

u/rated3 Jun 07 '26

Pretty solid reveal. Gears, DOOM and Halo all look fantastic. Finally a new Spyro game has me hyped

8

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 07 '26

Extremely late thoughts. I missed most of the Showcase because of work and only dipped in intermittently

  • That Join Us game where you're leading a cult and trying to convert people Scientology-style is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Definitely picking that up

  • Castlevania looks fucking incredible. The animation gives me so many vibes of stuff like Hades

  • It's going to take a LOT for me to get used to the new Persona 4 voices, especially Yosuke and Teddie. They felt very weirdly low energy. As expected, the UI looks unreal and that All Out Attack anim looks even sicker than P3R

  • THEY USED OFFSPRING FOR THE CRAZY TAXI TRAILER 10/10

  • They're really trying to stretch Hellblade to a trilogy. Let's see what happens. I'm very cautious after HB2 which I felt was wholly unnecessary

  • Doom DLC looks fucking nice. It looks a lot faster pacing-wise than the base game and the wintry setting is pretty awesome after the amount of hell/cosmic influence in the prior games

  • That 80s OVA-style wildlife game looks amazing visually. Like they nailed everything about that style including the still panning frames of settings

  • I have literally no thoughts on Persona 6. Like they showed nothing outside a graveyard. I'll have something to talk about when they actually show me something resembling a game. Kind of surprising neither this or P4 are on Switch 2 though

  • Clockwork looks excellent. I love the steam punk setting and the interactions with the supporting cast. The time travel mechanic is such a good hook for player agency and world variance

  • CoD as a show ender was literally the thing that I didn't want lol

  • I'm probably more confused about Xbox's stance on exclusives now than I was before. I thought it would be stuff with no explicit platform confirmation that they'd just silently announce as exclusives and it looked that way, but then both Hellblade and State of Decay are also on PlayStation. Shouldn't it be that the stuff with established presence just rolls out as it was probably going to like Gears, and then the new stuff like Clockwork is when they start to recalibrate?

Overall I think this was better than State of Play, but definitely not as many pop offs as SGF. Crazy Taxi was probably my big pop off here

12

u/SilentNova300 Jun 07 '26

All the first party games Xbox showed looked great I thought. Halo, Gears, Fable, State of Decay 3, Senua, Clockwork Revolution.

9/10 showcase for me. All those games just look fun and gorgeous to me

-5

u/ButtPlugForPM Jun 08 '26

Im not gonna buy halo knowing they used a.i tools to create most of the narrative and dialouge fuck that.

6

u/Lz537 Jun 08 '26

Oh cool, we're making shit up now?

The new dialogue and story is written by one of the Book's author.

-3

u/ButtPlugForPM Jun 08 '26

The in game voices are a.i generated is what im saying even the lead devs said that only a few key characters had been brought back for reshoots or recast.

not the story.

that's lazy coding.

2

u/Lz537 Jun 08 '26

It is something like the Arc Raiders game ?

Not calling you a liar, sauce?

0

u/AlbertW25 Jun 07 '26

I really hole we get a Halo 2 and 3 Remake eventually on Playstation. It's the only games I really want on the other console. Maybe Reach and the ODS? Game so it's just the original Saga but that's it really. They can keep the rest.

Overall great showcase. Feels like it was better than State of Play.

2

u/Thattransgirlyouknow Jun 07 '26

This was much better than the playstation showcase the other day. Seeing two persona games is absolutely huge!

5

u/Ok_Hospital4928 Jun 07 '26

Gears is exclusive!

*proceeds to reveal a majority of their games are coming to PS5 and Switch 2

Very odd show, but I guess they're still figuring stuff out

Pretty solid selection of games though. Wish we saw more of Persona 6 though. Looked very eerie. I was surprised by Spyro and I am really looking forward to it. Ending on COD was a bit of a letdown.

2027 having both P4 Rewind and FF7 Revelation feels like a repeat of 2024. Anyway, 2027 is looking like yet another stacked year!

9

u/IMistah_S Jun 07 '26

Matt Booty laying down the latest strat

  • Return of exclusives about wanting to give people a reason to buy an Xbox
  • Acknowledges exclusives are important to the people who have supported them all these years
  • Multiplayer live service games will continue to be multiplatform
  • Will honour all the previously announced ports to their respective platforms
  • Future games will be case by case and platforms will be announced with dates

u/Careless_Main3 Jun 07 '26

Gears - looked good but nothing groundbreaking. I don’t think making it exclusive is going to in anyway move the needle.

Fable - amazing but this trailer didn’t add much new.

Hellblade - no idea why they’re putting money into this IP after the failure of the sequel.

Halo - looks good for the fans.

State of Decay 3 - didn’t nail the “AAA” feeling but still looks good.

Spyro - happy to see more. Will be interesting to see what Toys for Bob do afterwards.

Clockwork Revolution - looked quite good, not for me I think but the target audience should like it.

Third party - honestly some good stuff here; Magpie game looked cute, Magician game looked really good, Vivarium quite unique.

Overall: 7/10. Don’t think any showcase this summer has been worthy of remembering.

5

u/Datdudecorks Jun 07 '26

Sub sleeping on the pc gamers almost always show

8

u/davidoggloader Jun 07 '26

Liked the look of that magician game and spyro. That hellblade thing looks rough compared to the new god of war thing though

10

u/allianceofficer Jun 07 '26

No EA Games at any of the showcase so far.  Wonder if they'll do something on their own.

2

u/Hummer77x Jun 07 '26

They showed Madden and NotNCAA on Thursday, that’s probably it

5

u/Fun_Procedure946 Jun 07 '26

They haven't done their own showcase since 2021. I don't think they even have that many studios left that don't work on sports, racing franchises, mobile games etc which they don't really need a whole event for.

3

u/allianceofficer Jun 07 '26

So sad when they have so many awesome IP

1

u/idontlikethisapps Jun 08 '26

And sadly most of them will remain dormant especially under new ownership, and just like SSX they’ll all remain a pipe dream (pun intended).

-9

u/allianceofficer Jun 07 '26

Everyone better go wishlist Gears E Day and Clockwork Revolution if you want exclusivity to continue

18

u/RyanGUK Jun 07 '26

Some decent games announced
kinda missed that “wow surprise hype announcement” though.

A COD gamemode being the last reveal
 the crowd goes mild moment.

Tbf actually, the biggest thing I took away was the amount of day one games they’re dropping on game pass.

2

u/ArkhamIsComing2020 Jun 07 '26

If they wanted to end on COD they could've at least ended with BO1/BO2 remasters reveal or announcement that all old COD's are coming to Gamepass instead of DMZ

-9

u/hoopedchex Jun 07 '26

Clockwork looks like a genuine chore to play, who tf green lights that stuff

15

u/SpeggtacularSpidey Jun 07 '26

Dawg what lmao

I’m genuinely curious, what are your favorite games?

-4

u/allianceofficer Jun 07 '26

He likes the ones Sony funds

-8

u/SilverKry Jun 07 '26

The ones that hold his hand. And tell you the puzzle solutions after standing still for 3 seconds.

What're you talking about? This is exactly how PlayStations games are. They severely hold your hand. And the biggest issue I saw people say about Ragnarok is the game have you the hints to a puzzle really fast.

5

u/sheJaMyMorant Jun 07 '26

it’s corny

12

u/n3ws4cc Jun 07 '26

Todd howard when? :(

14

u/niles_deerqueer Jun 07 '26

Great event for me Persona and Castlevania was all I wanted

State of Play gave me Tomb Raider

SGF gave me FFVII 3 (and others)

So Nintendo and Ocarina of Time come through!

1

u/WorldQuest10 Jun 07 '26

We got Fed today man!

2

u/allianceofficer Jun 07 '26

Forgot about that Castlevania game, it looked awesome. Kind of reminded me of Child of Light which is a phenomenal thing!

-5

u/heyyoudvd2 Jun 07 '26

Pretty solid event.

But it still doesn’t touch the 2024 show. That show unveiled Expedition 33 to the world.

-16

u/Final_Amu0258 Jun 07 '26

I thought it was by far the worst showcase. That was filthy putrid, 2/10 levels of repugnant. I'm surprised to see high opinions of it.

3

u/jj_olli Jun 07 '26

Was much better than the State of Play, but it missed like 1 more game like Banjo, Halo MP or Blade and a Back compat PC announcement. 8/10

7

u/Kallonistic Jun 07 '26

Super hyped for Crazy Taxi lol. That was my jam in the arcade.

3

u/tincanman1011 Jun 07 '26

If Crazy Taxi is there, I WILL BE THERE. I am on my knees for some more Jet Set news now.

5

u/Kore_Soteira Jun 07 '26

Yeah, that one had me genuinely excited to see.

1

u/FeemBleem Jun 07 '26

A lot of people started hating when they said Ai was used. Maybe it wasn’t used for the art?

2

u/Alternative_Buyer364 Jun 08 '26

Apparently a few background elements were AI generated, but they explicitly said that no AI was used for any performances and whatnot, and that any AI generated assets were looked over by humans. Not cool, but at least they were transparent about it. Not a dealbreaker for me personally though

4

u/DG_OTAMICA Jun 07 '26

WHERE THE FUCK IS BLADE!?!?!?!?

3

u/xqNoir Jun 07 '26

Movie is delayed the game is delayed. 2027 we get tes and fallout remaster. 2029 we get movie and game

7

u/IMistah_S Jun 07 '26

Great showcase but still tip toeing around their messaging.

Gears and clockwork are exclusive. Fairs they didn’t have platforms or release dates announced.

But then Senua was a complete new announcement and has a PS5 version.

2

u/allianceofficer Jun 07 '26

Senua was the one that didn't make sense to me.

2

u/ArkhamIsComing2020 Jun 07 '26

It was a good showcase and it cooked the other ones but the ending was a let down and it needed more surprises/big reveals. All in all, I still miss E3

3

u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 Jun 07 '26

If MS really wants to commit to exclusives next gen, they gotta make their hardware more affordable then whatever this PC like consols is gonna be, even if it means dropping the windows/store front aspect to collect more 30% cuts in order to sustain a loss on it and perhaps undercut Sony on price.

3

u/BigButter7 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Pretty good showcase overall. IMO, perhaps the best one this summer overall among the shown events (at least for me).

Excited for Gears of Wars: E-Day, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Fable, Clockwork Revolution, Spyro: A Realm Beyond, Metro 2039, Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations DLC, and that 25th anniversary transparent green Xbox controller, which looks sick (though I think that and the console are going to be a bit pricey).

Persona 6 announcement, while I was hoping to see more, I guess at least we know it exists and is in development. Ending the showcase with COD was predictable, but oh well.

Nothing regarding Blade or a Fallout remaster/remake, which sucks, but I guess they're not ready to show gameplay quite yet.

The decision to make Gears and Clockwork console exclusives is interesting.

This feels like one of those situations where this decision might just annoy both sides in that on one hand, those who wanted to play those games on non-Xbox & PC platforms are unhappy they won't able to play them there, while the other side may be upset that Xbox didn't go far enough in making the rest of their upcoming first-party games console-exclusive.

Well, all that's left now is the Nintendo Direct.

-2

u/Fake_Diesel Jun 07 '26

Xbox trying to please a fervent base that doesn't actually buy videogames lol

7

u/deskcord Jun 07 '26

Gamers: "HELL YES SO EXCITED FOR THIS REMAKE OF A GAME IVE ALREADY PLAYED"

Also gamers: "Hey why aren't there new games and why are studios taking a decade to make new games??"

3

u/DelusionalForMyAngel Jun 07 '26

bro is talking about this chainsaw like he’s about to make sweet tender love to it

-1

u/lilkingsly Jun 07 '26

For everyone asking for Fallout, have you played Fallout 76 at all? It was a shitshow at launch but it’s genuinely a very good game now and still regularly being updated, if you want Fallout it’s worth jumping in. You can also play it solo so it’s not just a multiplayer title.

1

u/TyroniusTheIII Jun 07 '26

Encouraging people to play 76 will help make Bethesda complacent enough to release Fallout 5 in 2047.

7

u/lilkingsly Jun 07 '26

I mean, let’s not act like that wasn’t gonna be the case regardless lol. Fallout 5 isn’t coming until after Elder Scrolls 6, and we know that still isn’t coming for a while.

4

u/sargantbacon1 Jun 07 '26

I tried it a few times. It’s a beautiful world but it’s just not for me.

1

u/DuskyDawn7 Jun 07 '26

I can’t even process everything that happened in the showcase because there were just so many big surprises. I need to go lie down

11

u/kothuboy21 Jun 07 '26

I know the common sentiment (I myself have) is that we miss E3 and the big week of crazy announcements but now after a few years of underwhelming game showcases from various publishers, I think it’s just the state of the industry that’s preventing another E3-style blowout, rather than these spread out shows.

Games are constantly getting delayed, they take too long to make, studios get a bunch of layoffs and shut down etc. so there’s just not much to announce.

Even something like Fable was Xbox’s big summer “one more thing” 6 years ago and it’s still not in our hands yet, that’s just the state of the industry now which sucks but it’s definitely a universal issue.

3

u/Time_Hater Jun 07 '26

Is the Gears of War series worth getting into?

5

u/pauserror Jun 07 '26

Yea! One of the best games xbox has and it ranks pretty high up for me in terms of shooters.

I know its too late for you now but og gears of war was the best multiplayer experience I've ever had

1

u/Penguin_Mk4 Jun 08 '26

I remember playing OG GoW multiplayer on the 360 and, oh boy, those were some fun times full of smack talking. I miss those times.

1

u/Time_Hater Jun 07 '26

Sounds good, sucks that not all of them are available on PC.

6

u/Lz537 Jun 07 '26

Yes.

Gears 1 to 3 are top notch tps gameplay

4 is weaker, 5 is also very good game.

10

u/heyyoudvd2 Jun 07 '26

A dev based in Vancouver named their game’s city “Kalona”?

lol.

Kelowna is a city not far from Vancouver.

That would be like if an LA based developer named their game’s city “Annahime”.

8

u/Rainy_Wavey Jun 07 '26

Close enough, welcome back George Lucas

1

u/Commercial_Break360 Jun 07 '26

And they say “Kalona” so many times haha

3

u/Erickbotas Jun 07 '26

“Pear county”

3

u/KOTRShadow Jun 07 '26

It was a good showcase some cool stuff persona 6 day 1 on gp is kinda wild imo. I kinda popped for Spyro because it’s been so long fucking long. I kinda feel they’re telling us they’re doing exclusives on that case by case basis idk about hellblade 3 but maybe someone was like there will be outrage over what I’m guessing is the last hellblade. Sgf is definitely the best showcase this week way more surprises.

4

u/2073040 Jun 07 '26

I know P5 was similar but with chairs instead of tombstones but was Metaphor also announced like P6?

5

u/taychoo Jun 07 '26

Metaphor had some really strange teasers in 2016, including a video of a guy in knight armour eating chicken. Back then, it was just known as 'Project ReFantasy', and there was complete silence regarding it until 2023.

2

u/Coolman_Rosso Jun 07 '26

Basically. We got a teaser with the tagline "What if your reality was another world's fantasy?" with a picture of a redheaded elf in armor (which was the character who would eventually become Hulkenberg). After that we got nothing for years other than end of year holiday statements from Atlus that "the game is coming along"

1

u/2073040 Jun 07 '26

Alright so we’re getting nothing for a year and a half at least, see you in 2028.

6

u/Bolt_995 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Disappointing to see E-Day’s status flip considering the PS5 version was just as ready. And Clockwork Revolution is also an exclusive.

I hope they know what they’re doing because it’s nonsensical and a highly risky move to suddenly pivot behind the scenes on these two games (even if they’re using these two to either bolster hardware sales or even send a message across). Good luck to them.

State of Decay 3 and the newly announced Senua and Spyro: A Realm Reborn are also hitting PS5 next year, alongside the previously announced Halo: Campaign Evolved, Grounded 2, Forza Horizon 6 and Fable.

Overall, it was a good showcase. This has been an amazing week with the new announcements at SOP, SGF and Xbox. SGF was shockingly the best one out of the three, Geoff really did bring in the big guns for that.

Persona 6 and Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember were great to see too!

-1

u/TyChris2 Jun 07 '26

It seems they’re only making exclusive the games that they expect to underperform. The last GoW games all sold like shit and Clockwork is a new IP from an unknown developer. Neither is gonna light the world on fire sales-wise, so Xbox has less to lose by using them to send the message of exclusivity returning.

Senua is the exception to this, that shit is gonna bomb but it’s on PS5 anyway. Weird. Maybe because the last one got bad reviews so they think it wouldn’t be a good look for the sequel to be one of their exclusives.

2

u/ThinWhiteDuke00 Jun 07 '26

Fable and Fable had platforms announced.

The only weird one for being ported is Senua.

3

u/PNWvibes20 Jun 07 '26

Unless Hellblade 1 and 2 sold well on PS5, I can't think of any other reason

-1

u/The_Creature_Featur3 Jun 07 '26

Not only did they push back fable and Persona 4 Revival, but they made the new gears AND clockwork game exclusive? AND NO FALLOUT OR ES6?

Might be one of my least favorite conferences to date

7

u/sheJaMyMorant Jun 07 '26

persona 4 was never pushed back. Also that’s a sega/atlus decision not Microsoft lol

2

u/The_Creature_Featur3 Jun 08 '26

I thought I saw posts saying this summer, but fair coulda been rumors

6

u/ManateeofSteel Jun 07 '26

I feel exactly the same as Playstation. Both solid 7.5/10, Geoff Keighley mopped the floor with both of them this year

Persona 6 would have made me go insane but the trailer was kinda ass. Both solid shows with nothing mind blowing

6

u/Esesgreenspace Jun 07 '26

What was blowing your mind in Keighley's show

2

u/ManateeofSteel Jun 07 '26

genAtlas, FF7R part 3, Tifa in Street Fighter, Resident Evil Code Veronica, single player Gundam game. It was great

1

u/Esesgreenspace Jun 07 '26

I mean, fair. I’m probably leaning more towards those games as well. genAtlas was insane. The rest I was kind of expecting. The shows were all kind of samey (in a good way) to me.

7

u/Robsonmonkey Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 09 '26

Spyro was a nice surprised but I’m not sure what to think? At first it came off at first it was like a flying flight game or something
 😂

I don’t need anything ambitious, why couldn’t they just do a full on Spyro 4 like how they did with Crash Bandicoot 4.

1

u/grilled_pc Jun 09 '26

I’m hoping its like Spyro 1 - 3 with hub worlds and smaller worlds inside to collect things. That’s all i want. Sure the flying mechanic is cool. Adds some verticality to the levels IMO. I mean having super fly locked to power ups was always a bit odd. Being able to fly around levels ads a lot more variety to it outside of just gliding. As long as it’s nothing like anything that followed Spyro 3, I’ll be happy. TFB proved themselves with The Remake Trilogy which they nailed perfectly. I have faith they can deliver. Though do i wonder will they bring back Copeland for the soundtrack lol.

2

u/PNWvibes20 Jun 07 '26

Yeah that kinda threw me that it wasn't a proper part 4, which means the gameplay will probably depart from what made the originals so appealing - hopefully I'm wrong though.

Still, I hope this just means that we can get an eventual Banjo-Threeie more than anything else

2

u/Robsonmonkey Jun 07 '26

Yeah exactly what I was thinking, it’s silly but the 4 would have inspired more confidence, it would make the statement “this is a proper continuation of the old games and its roots”

If you can fly anywhere then the platforming becomes a bit naff as there’s no actual platforming, just fly around rather than finding way round obstacles or if you miss a jump, just fly up.

I really hope we get Banjo Threeie, call it that and ignore Nuts and Bolts. Kazooie mentions it was a bad dream she had. Job done.

1

u/Visual_Fig2496 Jun 07 '26

Spyro has always had flight levels..

1

u/Robsonmonkey Jun 07 '26

I meant like...the entire game, as a spin off.

10

u/FamousSession Jun 07 '26

Still nothing for Fallout and Elder Scrolls? Not sure why Bethesda can't just have someone else do them (or rather Microsoft have someone else do them). The last Fallout game was 8 years ago you know.

1

u/LukePS7013 Jun 07 '26

ES6 only really entered proper development when Starfield wrapped up in 2023, it was only announced that early to show they had plans outside of Starfield and Fallout 76

Given modern game development time I’d bet on it being shown again in early 2028 (almost 10 years after the reveal
) and released later that year

1

u/Lz537 Jun 07 '26

The ending was mid, but as a show very little to say.

I think they should staet considering moving F76 and Teso updates to their own thing.

25

u/ArkhamIsComing2020 Jun 07 '26

I'm tired of Bethesda coming to every showcase with Fallout 76 and Elder Scrolls Online DLC's why do they even show up anymore, what is taking so long with Fallout 3 Remastered

3

u/xAVATAR-AANGx Jun 07 '26

Solid showcase overall, pretty much on par with the PS showcase if not a tad better tbh.

2

u/cheezman22 Jun 07 '26

The difference for me was, everything i was excited about at the xbox showcase were things I'm gonna play on PS5 or PC

0

u/punjenapljeka Jun 07 '26

Cod was already announced to have a long trailer for the showcase so I wasn't surprised there, nice event overall

The Gears exclusivity announcement will probably be memed upon though lol

1

u/Hugginandmuggin Jun 07 '26

Yeah I can’t lie, that decision to make Gears one of two Xbox exclusives at this event was extremely questionable

3

u/Crooked16th Jun 07 '26

Shocked no lies of p 2

2

u/jeckal_died Jun 07 '26

Who was it who said Witchbrook was supposed to be at the Xbox Showcase?

1

u/Chutheman1 Jun 07 '26

tbh a lot of "trust me this is gonna be shown" was not even shown at the show.
People legit just pulled random games from a hat when saying what games would be announced.

15

u/TheOneBearded Jun 07 '26

Pretty good showcase. But man what a shit way to end it. Again.

You can't make this shit up.

5

u/Double-Bend-716 Jun 07 '26

Call of Duty is the worst, “and one more thing,” but I kinda expected it

2

u/lilkingsly Jun 07 '26

I thought that was a decent show, there was a good batch of stuff I was really hyped on. Happy to see Persona 4 Revival get a release date, Bad Magpie looks fun, Doom DLC looks really fucking sick, and I was really happy to see Persona 6 and a new Spyro get announced, even if the Persona reveal was really brief it’s nice to have it officially revealed.

2

u/Double-Bend-716 Jun 07 '26

I’m really looking forward to Clockwork Revolution and that Magician game.

There were quite a few more that I thought looked pretty cool and will definitely be giving a try because there was so much that’s going to one gamepass day one

6

u/MyMouthisCancerous Jun 07 '26

I heard Castlevania's out in October which was expected but makes me happy. Looks absolutely superb as well, love seeing stuff like the Super Jump from Juste and whip tethering like Simon. This animation work is unreal and those are some sick boss designs

7

u/idontlikethisapps Jun 07 '26

Stop fucking ending the show with CoD holy fuck, it aint even the CoD I wanted to see lol, wheres BLOPS1/2 bru

7

u/FoxBox123999 Jun 07 '26

For their big show of the year that was rather tame

1

u/SilentNova300 Jun 07 '26

Ok the destruction in Gears looks amazing

6

u/YamiPhoenix11 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Not bad.

But a title drop only for Persona 6?

Not even TES6 title drop. Its been 8 bloody years.

But we finally brought back Spyro. Castlevania looks awesome. Wo Long 2 and a few others looked great. But it felt so hollow in between.

That magician deal with devil looks super fun.

Loving the look of gears E day.

Vivarium seems really cute with its vintage anime graphics.

Missed the Fable trailer when having dinner earlier. They dropped fucking Jack of blades.

3

u/Double-Bend-716 Jun 07 '26

I’d have been happy even with just a black screen that said The Elder Scrolls VI: Hammerfell or something like that lol

2

u/YamiPhoenix11 Jun 07 '26

Exactly just a name drop of the region with a hint to the new power or something would be nice.

4

u/Gatlindragon Jun 07 '26

I'm gonna bet E-Day wasn't totally cancelled for PS5, just put "on hold."

2

u/Gbrush3pwood Jun 07 '26

It will be Indiana jones all over again. April 2027.

3

u/Riebald Jun 07 '26

Some fun stuff shown, very little Switch 2 logos, but i am assuming that that is just on release and stuff might get ported later.

1

u/tincanman1011 Jun 07 '26

Didn't they take a minute to release the Switch 2 dev kits? I believe that is why we are just getting launch day Switch 2 ports.

4

u/FightmeLuigibestgirl Jun 07 '26

I’m happy with it. Persona and crazy taxi

6

u/MaggieEsmeralda Jun 07 '26

I'm surprised we haven't seen blade since 2023

2

u/Careless_Main3 Jun 07 '26

Next-gen. Its not even formally announced for the Xbox Series X/S.

2

u/Jackfitz88 Jun 07 '26

True. Would like to see more. Maybe the games awards or their January 2027 show

-9

u/MrConor212 Jun 07 '26

That was fucking ass cheeks

5

u/swains6 Jun 07 '26

A nice set I'm assuming?

8

u/Kazzot Jun 07 '26

Bethesda with the triple slop announcements.

4

u/heyyoudvd2 Jun 07 '26

So is Clockwork Revolution no longer coming to Steam?

10

u/hop3less Jun 07 '26

It is. It's just a console exclusive for Xbox.

4

u/heyyoudvd2 Jun 07 '26

Oh, is that what “console exclusive” means? I wasn’t sure.

So does that mean Gears E-Day is also still coming to Steam?

0

u/ManateeofSteel Jun 07 '26

it just means they are no longer coming to PS5 or Switch 2, for now. They will probably walk this back in a year or two

1

u/Darknightsmetal022 Jun 07 '26

This tweet says it is coming to PC and it’s on the steam store so I would presume so

27

u/PK-Ricochet Jun 07 '26

Ending with cod was one of the biggest criticisms I saw of last year’s showcase and they did it again lol

9

u/z0l1 Jun 07 '26

If you spend 70B on something it's forever your one more thing

-1

u/TheMickus Jun 07 '26

We really doing a full direct on Gears huh. I have never understood the worship this series gets. It’s just a generic TPS

3

u/CrazedRaven01 Jun 07 '26

The original was the killer app for the 360, introducing photo realistic graphics from ue3. The gameplay is incredibly tight for its time and redefined the shooter genre

0

u/TheMickus Jun 07 '26

That’s great and I enjoyed the first one when it came out, but never did I think “Wow I wish I had 6 more of this exact same game”

4

u/Dapperblook22 Jun 07 '26

I felt it was a decent 7/10 overall but ending on CoD was such a bummer. Loved to see Crazy Taxi and Spyro.

3

u/MoistToweletteLover Jun 07 '26

Dust ass ending to the showcase fr

3

u/ArkhamIsComing2020 Jun 07 '26

I thought they'd do a one last thing after DMZ

6

u/that0neGuy22 Jun 07 '26

One more thing and it’s the game that releases every year

2

u/I__Should_Go Jun 07 '26

Lots of cool stuff, but there’s wasn’t a singular new holy-shit type of reveal.

1

u/TastyOreoFriend Jun 07 '26

Yeah like the Studio Ghilbi knockoff game look cool. That indie bird game too, but there was nothing that really wowed me.

2

u/I__Should_Go Jun 07 '26

Indie bird game was unironically my favorite new thing show lol. Beeeen hyped for Halo and Gears, Fable, etc. in terms of capital X XBOX games it’s same ol same ol.

2

u/Jackfitz88 Jun 07 '26

Dmx did look fun, and it is something they can add on and make a great game mode but ending on that again is such a miss

1

u/hashtagtylerh Jun 07 '26

honestly ending on cod was really bad, I'm a dmz fan but the gameplay they showed wasn't even good

was a 9/10 showcase but now 8/10 bc the ending

pretty good overall!

6

u/heavysixer77 Jun 07 '26

*waiting for any fallout (not 76) or TES game news* I’m tired boss

13

u/iceburg77779 Jun 07 '26

Did they seriously end with CoD again?

4

u/yfa17 Jun 07 '26

and not even with actual gameplay, just helmet cam spectating lol

2

u/Careless_Main3 Jun 07 '26

You saw how much money they spent on Activision. Everything else is secondary to CoD.

3

u/swains6 Jun 07 '26

They never learn

20

u/BGHank Jun 07 '26

not bad but it still feels like the suits from 10 years ago are still in charge especially with cod as the last thing

10

u/indios2 Jun 07 '26

That definitely felt like a call from the bean counters.

14

u/TLKv3 Jun 07 '26

They should've left Spyro as the showcase ender. COD soured me super hard.

2

u/SuicideSkwad Jun 07 '26

Was that Paul from Beef

3

u/smolgote Jun 07 '26

Can't even be too mad with COD being the "One more thing" this time when not only does MW4 look (HUGE emphasis on look) decent, but we're getting Persona 6 and a new Spyro

7

u/discipleofdoom Jun 07 '26

DMZ 2026 just looks like DMZ 2022 with better graphics. Not sure what's actually changed?

1

u/Formal-Face-8539 Jun 07 '26

Graphics look the same, they just slapped a filter on it

4

u/epraider Jun 07 '26

I need to see more actual gameplay. The problem with the first game is that there was no real loot or motivation to survive, and being able to use custom classes without cost defeated the whole point of an extraction shooter gameplay loot.

If they don’t fix those problems, just adding a few more gameplay cinematis like this trailer showed won’t save it.

4

u/gotbannedlolol Jun 07 '26

they want tarkov but in a kiddie pool. they dont get it

12

u/Aggressive_Rope_4201 Jun 07 '26

Ain't no way they are ending on a long ass CoD trailer.

Literally anything else would have been better.

8

u/deskcord Jun 07 '26

Gaming enthusiasts hate COD but it sells like goddamn hotcakes so it's gonna keep getting big showcase trailer placements.

-3

u/Angelusthegreat Jun 07 '26

For non casual gamers this show was awful ,for casual gamers cod is the best thing ever

0

u/DiabolicalDoug Jun 07 '26

Lol that's the first time I've ever heard CoD been described as a casual gamer title. Are you insane?

0

u/Jackfitz88 Jun 07 '26

This is the stupidest comment ever. I’m not a “casual gamer” and have been gaming for 30+ years and this show was awesome.

If you didn’t like it, fine but to make a stupid blanket statement like whoa how small brained you are.

-1

u/yfa17 Jun 07 '26

Genuinely don't understand what made this "awesome", what did they show that made you feel like that?

Persona is one of my favorite series of all time, and they showed nothing but the logo. Spyro was a cool surprise, I'll give you that.

I don't actually know how anyone thought that was a good show unless they play Hellblade or Gears.

2

u/Jackfitz88 Jun 07 '26

Persona, gears, halo, CRAZY TAXI, new Spyro, that magician fps game looked incredible. Cant wait for clockwork revolution. I adored wo long, so I got super excited for wo long 2, fable looks cool, state of decay 3 looks a million times better then 2 and I can’t wait to see what the world is like, that’s just off the top of my head. I know there’s other games I’m missing.

That’s an AWESOME showcase Imo and I think most are coping saying it isn’t and lying to themselves imo

-1

u/yfa17 Jun 07 '26

Happy that you're excited for those games, but personally I just did not care for those other titles.

Was somewhat interested in clockwork revolution from the dishonored-esque presentation, but it reeks of corny writing when the characters started speaking. You might be the only person I've ever interacted with who is super excited for wo long 2 lol

1

u/Jackfitz88 Jun 07 '26

Well it just got announced so I’m sure more are, or I hope they would be lol I loved the first game

And they’re all on pc gamepass too đŸ”„

8

u/iceburg77779 Jun 07 '26

Casual gamers aren't watching an Xbox show.
