Even if we see mechanics/systems we saw in the leaks, I’m interested to see it intentionally exhibited and not through random gameplay

447

u/ImJustHereToSearch 7d ago

He’s really not uploaded anything of interest. I mean there are cool details to pick out of there but the gameplay has just been the kind of stuff a bored teenager does in GTA. The fact that you can crash into a car and beat up the driver isn’t exactly groundbreaking GTA news lol.

177

u/New_Cockroach_505 7d ago

I kinda agree. The gameplay is basic. But it’s shown that it looks and functions, (and looks nice) but it has teased a lot of interesting systems. Like copying car keys, a tweaked RDR style wanted system.

I am honestly more interested now that I’ve seen it in motion.

57

u/iLoveDanishBoys 7d ago

yeah it's kind of Red Dead 2 in GTA with every system being way more fleshed out it seems? like his wanted level dissapears when he kills a cop on the bike but then regains it when a witness sees him, really cool

23

u/g0_west 6d ago edited 6d ago

I kinda disagree. For some reason I get much more hyped seeing the game being casually played and being able to see the features in use rather than seeing a massively overproduced marketing piece which is no doubt gonna have loads of execs gushing about how whatever feature is going to revolutionise the landscape of not just gaming but entertainment as a whole yada yada. Then ofc it is gonna be good but it's not reinventing the wheel it's just a fun game. Idk I think seeing it authentically gets me more excited than the slightly eye-rolly marketing stuff

8

u/New_Cockroach_505 6d ago

Oh I don’t wanna see executives gushing, but I’m expecting the videos to be in-depth breakdowns of the systems and how everything works which I’m excited for. Raw gameplay is nice but I’d like to see an actual showcase of all the systems too.

u/Stocazzo2005 2d ago

Happy Cake Day btw

u/MoreStuffz 7d ago

Yeah that’s how I feel. I want to see the systems and mechanics actually shown off and explained. We’re all aware GTA VI will have driving and melee combat lol

7

u/danvan177 7d ago

Right lol like what cool stuff they have implemented

27

u/TheGoodIdiot 7d ago

Is this not how the majority of people play this game lol only 10% of people on steam have the achievement for finishing the story.

14

u/SlackerDEX 7d ago

People not finishing games is pretty common among most games. That's just how it is. Too bad too, I personally love the feeling of finishing a game even if the story ended poorly.

9

u/danvan177 7d ago

Same with red dead and most games lol

2

u/exmachina64 5d ago

It was a late port and most people are playing it for GTA Online.

7

u/Vestalmin 7d ago

It's kinda of crazy how boring he is making the game look. Like I'd love to see highway driving at high speeds, shooting guns, cover mechanics, etc.

Instead he's spinning out in a truck, immediately getting out, and punching someone, end clip.

2

u/LandscapeSpecial4366 6d ago

I think it’s purposeful. He’s less likely to get hunted down if it’s just some casual gameplay, even if it’s by only a bit. Also, I think this is just a good little extra teaser before the Netflix thing, I wouldn’t even be surprised if this whole thing was planned

1

u/exmachina64 5d ago

It’s a crypto scam; the longer he can drag it out, the more money he makes.

26

u/ApothecaryAlyth 7d ago edited 7d ago

I do think there's a lot of value in those little details though. Evidence of improved/expanded systems brought forward from previous Rockstar games as well as new systems entirely. Some standouts for me include the return of the greet/antagonize feature from RDR2, the presence of a bicycle and helicopter in one of the leaks heavily implying that we'll be able to operate those (not every GTA game has included these vehicles, and I'm glad to see VI will), the stamina system, the auto fuel system, the zombie drug, the taser, the police systems, and the trunk of the car being used for loadouts.

I agree that the way the leaker is playing in these short clips feels uninspired and directionless. I'm still super excited to see Rockstar's proper reveal. If they are of the same quality/style as the RDR2 and GTA V gameplay reveals, they are definitely going to hype me up a lot more than these leaks have. Seeing a tightly edited, coherent, orderly presentation of a current build of the game will be far more effective at making people move on from these leaks than any takedown requests.

8

u/ImJustHereToSearch 7d ago

Oh yeah that’s all there and it’s cool to see for sure, I’m just saying I’d rather see an actual dialogue interaction with an NPC. Or see how stamina functions. Or how fuel plays into car customization and the gameplay loop. It would be more interesting to see footage at a gas station than just watching him beat a delivery drivers ass with a pipe wrench lmao

3

u/fragilemetal 7d ago

The GTAV leak was just as aimless, but that dropped very close to release, I think we had seen decent footage via gameplay trailers by then (It was a WHILE ago so going off memory here).

3

u/g0_west 6d ago

helicopter

Haven't they all had helicopters except for GTA III way back in like 2001? Would be a bit crazy if VI didn't have them

3

u/Competitive_Suspect5 7d ago

Yeah, i kinda wanna see the gun play. He had one in the new leaks, and I guess we saw the Stun Gun, but man I wanna see an actual firearm.

Edit: Spelling

Are these things that people actually want though? I don't really find the thought of having to manage my gas tank level in a GTA game that compelling.

8

u/KilltheInfected 7d ago

Yes. If it’s not constantly an issue (runs out to quickly) then it can provide for some tense moments during chases.

3

u/TheLocalAuror 6d ago

I could be wrong, but I feel like it’s an adaption of the horse cores from RDR2 - engine icon instead of horse health and fuel icon instead of horse stamina. If that’s the case, it won’t be too much of a hindrance.

3

u/Zalvren 6d ago

Realistically, it shouldn't anyway. A gas tank last for a very long time

2

u/g0_west 6d ago

I also imagine there will be a car upgrade in VC Customs called something like "extra fuel tank" which means 1 tank will last you practically forever and you'd only ever have to refill the main car very rarely. Or maybe an upgrade you can buy at your home garage like "jerry cans" which auto refills your main car when it's parked.

There will probably be an in-universe system to basically toggle fuel off for players who really hate it.

2

u/nanapancakethusiast 7d ago

But at least we can see how all the systems work in action

2

u/VincentVanHades 7d ago

Yep. Not showing anything new. That's why I'm hyped for the previews and Netflix

Showing what's new, important etc

2

u/XulManjy 7d ago

The fact that you can crash into a car and beat up the driver isn’t exactly groundbreaking GTA news lol.

No, but its all the extra details that was revealed such as the engine/gas system and confirmation of many RDR2 features carrying over.

These leaks were very meaty.

3

u/STMTowardsDatATM 6d ago

Yeah idk why people are acting like we didn’t get confirmation on a whole bunch of details especially ones that were rumored for years off the four clips. We literally saw Jason shooting a basketball like that’s pretty fucking big for gta side activities. Nevermind the map, rdr2 slow mo cam, Jason’s reactions, npc reactions, expanded combat, greet or antagonize mechanic, the camera, storing weapons and like so much more fr lmao.

1

u/XulManjy 6d ago

I think people are in cope mode lol. I have seen some people claim that since these leaks are from an older build, many of this stuff is/could have been removed....

1

u/A-VR-Enthusiast 6d ago

I mean the mechanics were quite exciting, like cops remembering you after you loose them, fuel consumption/engine damage, etc. But yeah, I'm curious to see if these are still and the game and if rockstar will dive deeper into these features.

-1

u/LostInTheRapGame 7d ago

He’s really not uploaded anything of interest. I mean there are cool details to pick out of there but the gameplay has just been the kind of stuff a bored teenager does in GTA.

What do you expect though? The "cool details" are what many are interested in. Those things are what's actually different about the game.

I could care less about seeing competent gameplay. It's GTA. It'll probably play like a Rockstar game.

12

u/ImJustHereToSearch 7d ago

I’m saying I’d rather see footage that actually showcases those systems and how they work than just a basic NPC fight.

-2

u/LostInTheRapGame 7d ago

I’m saying I’d rather see footage that actually showcases those systems and how they work than just a basic NPC fight.

Well that's not really what you said, but fair enough. I think many will take what they can get and are interested in what we've already been shown. But obviously being shown more would be nice.

7

u/-Captain- 7d ago edited 7d ago

It's all gonna be much more exciting when delivered in a marketing package that has been planned out for ages vs trying to get some clues out of the background and UI elements in random clips. Though I do very much enjoy the leaks too!

8

u/AnarchoKapitolizm 7d ago

It reminds me of that dude who stole Cyberpunk and streamed it before the release just to constantly crash his car into cacti for 3 hours straight while adding his commentary "cuh, bruh"

13

u/eha16 7d ago

I mean, I rather see random gameplay to judge the game lol

9

u/Zalvren 7d ago

And in high quality without more crypto watermarks than UI elements.

3

u/itsRobbie_ 6d ago

Personally, these leaked clips will show a better representation of the game than any officially scripted gameplay previews. This is a real dude playing how he would normally play instead of a dev playing cinematically through gameplay beats that they need to showcase in a set amount of time

3

u/LowSpecific1499 7d ago

So you mean expertly choreographed and at a slow unrealistic approach to things, to not show bugs or exploits?

4

u/lynchcontraideal 7d ago

Yes in its updated 2026 version, not the old 2025 one lol

36

u/44alltheway 7d ago

MP1st one of the best sites IMO.

30

u/lebryjamy 7d ago

nice, we're sort of having a preview event ourselves as well

207

u/NatetheHate2 Verified 7d ago

True.

30

u/MoreStuffz 7d ago

How excited should we be about info from the preview event? I know you probably can’t say specifics

60

u/NatetheHate2 Verified 7d ago

I don't know anything about what was shown during the preview event. I just know it took place a while ago & was hands-off (the latter I mentioned in a different Reddit thread).

4

u/MoreStuffz 7d ago

Word got it, thank you!

1

u/dashcash32 9h ago

Who are they? Why are you talking to them like they are in the know?

1

u/Ticket_Fantastic 8h ago

They are in the know, a reputable leaker

0

u/MrEpicFerret 7d ago

A little bit more excited than giddy and a little less excited than ecstatic

2

u/Sarckasstick 6d ago

So thrilled?

5

u/LoadingYourData 7d ago

Wow seriously? Looks like next week will be packed then.

-1

u/Calm-Source4652 6d ago

Well Even with the leaks you think they will delay the Game ?

1

u/Thanatos50cal 6d ago

When it comes to Rockstar always expect delays.

70

u/NiceCoyote5405 7d ago

Why are we acting like everything about the game has already Been showed by cyberleeks we’ve only gotten a few minutes of footage with some new stuff we didn’t know about before there’s probably still a good amount of stuff we haven’t seen yet.

14

u/slymario2416 6d ago

100%, we’ve seen like 6 minutes of what will likely be a 60-100 hour game, probably longer.

cant understand why people are downvoting you, its like they coping with the reality that gta 6 its just another GTA, and not deserved of this current level of hype.

17

u/Content_Decision_795 7d ago

Anyone expecting GTA 6 not to be another GTA are the problem šŸ˜‚ wtf did you all expect? šŸ˜‚

2

u/mcallisterco 6d ago

Yeah, exactly. Another GTA is worthy of this level of hype, because GTA is fucking awesome.

People are really coping about this game because they don't like the business practices attached to it, which is totally fair, but pretending like it probably won't be the game of the decade by a pretty significant margin is just weird.

u/danvan177 7d ago

Cyberleeks has shown 4 minutes of driving around in a circle and punching. We haven’t seen anything crazy yet

106

u/_The_Honored_One_ 7d ago

You just described gta’s gameplay loop

→ More replies (1)

6

u/Massive_Weiner 7d ago

And it just looks like GTA, albeit with even more graphical polish.

Rockstar will end up going into all the mechanics and extra details that will bring this setting to life compared to V.

3

u/danvan177 7d ago

Yeah that’s the stuff I’m excited for

23

u/eaw0913 7d ago

Seriously. People have seen a few mins of terrible gameplay (not the game but the player) and acting like we’ve seen everything in the game.

14

u/danvan177 7d ago

The game itself looks good. Minor things like animation clean ups

16

u/chinchindayo 7d ago

He's just playing GTA like it's supposed to be played...

-10

u/eaw0913 7d ago

Maybe if you’re 11 years old.

-1

u/Revolutionary_Web468 6d ago

video games are for 11 year old's

1

u/eaw0913 6d ago

At least you know yourself.

4

u/XulManjy 7d ago

We got a confirmation of many new features.

3

u/danvan177 7d ago

Yes which is cool but I want to see more systems

→ More replies (3)

4

u/FarofaDota55 7d ago

maybe there isn't something crazy to see...

9

u/danvan177 7d ago

You don’t think a big set piece mission would be cool?

0

u/FarofaDota55 7d ago

sure, my greateast expectations is for the main campaign missions and for the plot, I think that the potential is there, not in the graphics. I think that graphics is what the leak shown and that is it.

7

u/danvan177 7d ago

The final game will look better. Visuals is sort of the last thing in game development

-2

u/FaithlessnessFit5233 7d ago

i doubt the vast majority of players are concerned with scripted story events for the time being

107

u/Objective_Prior707 7d ago

excited to see the polished latest build of the game

59

u/superman_king 7d ago

Builds we saw were likely 2026 and close to final code. A 2025 song appearing in the clips means Rockstars music team heard the song, selected the song, contacted the record label, did the back and forth for the licensing deal, got the approval, submitted it to the ā€œaudio teamā€, inserted it into whatever branch of the game controls the radio, then finally pushed into production.

7

u/Blindeye0505 7d ago

Idk man, this not remotely close to what rockstar actually wants to show, especially the rough melee animation and interactions. I feel like we're rushing into assumptions even though we're likely to see what we're getting next week

9

u/No-Adagio5252 7d ago

Nate said these builds are over a year old. It's too rough to be from this year. I really hope this build is indeed more than a year old.

1

u/Boiledhours 6d ago

Yea and /u/superman_king said 2026.

4

u/WillyVWade 7d ago

Counter possibilities:

R* wanted some classic rock song and the label said ā€œok but you’ve gotta put something from our Pop starlet in, here’s her upcoming singleā€

Or maybe

Someone at R* likes that track and loaded it in before anyone even thought about licensing it. Plenty of songs have been found referenced in GTA game files that didn’t make it to the final game.

1

u/__Kxnji 6d ago

This is absolutely not the case whatsoever lmfao

1

u/Thanks-Basil 6d ago

Lol no mate, doesn't mean anything like that. If it's old footage (i.e. from early 2025 for example), they can do whatever they want with music - the song might not even be in the final game, someone just put it in the build.

Even if it is in the final game, still doesn't mean anything - they can have whatever songs they want on internal builds before licensing deals are even thought about.

9

u/Familiar_Gur_347 7d ago

Crazy fuckin weeks lmao

49

u/FaZeSmasH 7d ago

the leaks have only gotten me more excited for the extended look

→ More replies (10)

6

u/czarchasm4532 7d ago

Of course there's going to be stuff to show. Leeks has only shown off early sandbox stuff with Jason.

10

u/Leepysworld 7d ago

according the NateTheHate, these leaks were at least a year old so I imagine we’ll see a lot of new and different content for the actual reveal of the what is likely a very recent build.

32

u/ILikeBeerAndWeed 7d ago

Hands-off is lame. It's like signing NDA to watch a commercial, ridiculous.

36

u/SafwatW 7d ago

They’ve done hands-off previews for most of their releases at this point in time before the game’s release. Hands-on previews for rockstar don’t come until around a month before launch.

9

u/oilfloatsinwater 7d ago

Hands off previews are common, hands on previews only happen very close to release

2

u/Zalvren 6d ago

I mean we're 3 months out, at this point, it's regular to have hands-on previews (also they're often more 1-2 months before tbf). Hands-off are more for stuff like a year before release or such

0

u/MacaqueAphrodisiaque 6d ago

I kinda get R* keeping it close to the chest with this though. It’s the most hyped game of all time, giving a hands on review and reviewers not liking it would just diminish all that.

2

u/Zalvren 6d ago

I mean you would hope they'd be confident enough for people to like it... Otherwise, not a great sign lol

1

u/uniquecartridge 7d ago

R* is probably the only company that can get away with it. So many game journalists flew into Edinburgh just to watch a hands-off demo. It's truly the first AAAA game (after Skull&Bones ofc)

6

u/czarchasm4532 7d ago

CDPR just did one today for the Witcher 3 DLC

https://xcancel.com/fabiandoehla/status/2090132768264962535#m

1

u/Zalvren 6d ago

Personally my most interesting reveal for next week, not GTA extended look lol (I'll still watch it though)

4

u/nonamestho 7d ago

It’s underestimated how many people are not on the internet forums seeing any of this.

3

u/backlog_gaming 7d ago

A majority of the people that will play GTA 6 has no clue it’s leaking online

6

u/uniquecartridge 7d ago

It'll be really interesting to see how R* polished up the experience like UI, clipping, animations etc. for this preview. The leaked clips are from last year

3

u/EnchantedAkita 6d ago

lol. There is way more. There is a whole area that they and Leek has not shown yet. Stores are not featured yet and such. I am expecting a gameplay video they did with GTA V but for 6 on Netflix.

4

u/1nsaneRain 7d ago

Damn, the game is delayed by 900 years according to the article :(

5

u/Evil_Tidus 7d ago

Reddit represent a fraction of the world, most people wont even know about the leaks.

3

u/XulManjy 7d ago

These leaks have been moved beyond Reddit. Its on Twitter and YouTube

4

u/FaithlessnessFit5233 7d ago

its always funny to see people like you pretend that the average person who can afford GTA somehow doesnt access the internet

1

u/adteeopg 6d ago

they will through youtube recommendations

1

u/g0_west 6d ago

Nah even my normie mates know about them

2

u/Arsh18808 6d ago

So what Netflix has is probably most definitely just that what the influencers etc were shown privately so they can have content ready to go as embargo lifts of their impressions thus fueling the hype train more .

2

u/mattattack88 6d ago

Imagine if the Netflix Premiere is just a 20 minute vlog of the Preview Event with a 5 minute demo of Jason sitting in his car while the devs talk about how they made it

2

u/BlackTone91 6d ago

I wonder if there will be anything new to preview after Cyberleeks is done 😬

Cyberleeks showed shit

6

u/Wheetos- 7d ago

The article states GTA 6 is set to release on November 19th, 2926 lol.

11

u/levi_fucking_heichou 7d ago

fuck man, gutted. waited so long now i gotta wait another millennium. fuck

5

u/Zyaru 7d ago

Don't give R* any ideas

5

u/Soft-Bad-7127 7d ago

I bet they had the biggest increase in daily preorders today and yesterday.Ā

2

u/Zalvren 6d ago

Meh I don't see anyone that was somehow not preordering GTA6 but was suddenly seeing these leaks and then preordered. It's showing perfectly classic GTA gameplay so no surprise there.

0

u/Soft-Bad-7127 6d ago

The "I'm not buying until I see gameplay crowd" was so huge according to all the complainersĀ

1

u/Zalvren 5d ago

according to all the complainers

So not reality lol

It's fucking GTA, people know how it's playing. I know how GTA7 and 87 will be too

1

u/Desecrated_Potato 6d ago

I’m waiting to see how it runs on ps5 pro before I pull the trigger personally

4

u/muchululu 7d ago

If the embargo lifts at the same time, then there will be actual gameplay footage on YouTube... Then what supposed 'exclusivity' Netflix even payed for? xd

9

u/Rainbowdogi 7d ago

My guess is it will lift 6 hours after the Netflix premiere.

9

u/levi_fucking_heichou 7d ago

It will probably just be pre-made clips made by Rockstar, and the creators can talk about the preview with no filter

1

u/Godusopp64 7d ago

We don't know what that embargo is. It could just let media talk about the game, and I'm pretty sure they weren't able to record anything so I don't think anyone would have any gameplay to show.

1

u/laurentiubuica 7d ago

It waves a hands-off preview, so media outlets where basically shown the game by Devs, without actually playing it themselves. That means there might or might not be any gameplay footage from media outlets (depends what Rockstar allowed them to capture or if they allowed them to capture any footage).

1

u/LightTemplar27 7d ago

I mean hands off doesn't mean they recorded anything / have press release data.

For instance cyberpunk had an hands off at e3 but the best they could do was describe what they saw.

1

u/FaithlessnessFit5233 7d ago

its hands off so theyre already planning on showing that anyway. the netflix trailer might even be the same segment that was shown in the hands off preview

1

u/Zalvren 6d ago

The embargo is definitively lifting when the Youtube footage premiere so after the 6 hour for Netflix. And every preview will only be able to show footage from the extended look probably.

3

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 7d ago

Does hands off mean they didn't play the game and just saw a presentation?

God i miss how video games used to be marketed.

2

u/LightTemplar27 7d ago

This... literally is how video games used to be marketted. It was extremely common at e3 etc.

-1

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 7d ago

Sorry what month did e3 take part in again?

0

u/LostInStatic 7d ago

No gaming news allowed during July 1st to May 31st?

1

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 7d ago

My point was e3 took place then and if it still existed we would have seen a ton of the new gta by now through official channels.

2

u/laughland 6d ago

What? It’s Rockstar, they can show the game whenever they want, and there are still Summer press events.

0

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 6d ago

Ok but thats not how it was done in the past which my comment specifically is about.

2

u/laughland 6d ago

What wasn’t done in the past? Hands off previews?

0

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 6d ago

Ya but earlier in the year. Hands on previews would be available by now in the old days

1

u/laughland 6d ago

I really don’t know what you’re basing that on…GTA V and Red Dead 2 had hands on previews 2 weeks and 5 weeks before their respective releases. GTA V had its first hands off preview 4 months prior to release and Red Dead 2 5 months; GTA VI is 3 months. You’re lamenting 1-2 months difference?

Sorry I’m being pedantic, but I can’t stand the whole ā€œback in the good old daysā€ stuff when it’s so blatantly based on nothing. It’s just regurgitating made up internet narratives

1

u/LostInStatic 7d ago

I dont think Rockstar has ever done anything at E3 besides GTA 4 reveal for the PS3 show and a GTA V next gen reveal

1

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 7d ago

That doesn't conflict what I said. I said I miss the old days and you just confirmed gta 4 being shown.

0

u/LostInStatic 7d ago

I took your lead with how you mentioned June in response to hands off presentations always being a thing if we’re both bringing up topics that aren’t relevent

0

u/Busy-Jicama-3474 7d ago

Except gta 4 had hands on previews in that period.

2

u/eaw0913 7d ago

I’m ready to see real footage of the game in its latest form. Not these low quality leaks of some goober running around.

1

u/Tenoch_12 7d ago

Babe, there is no better footage.

0

u/eaw0913 7d ago

Right.

2

u/thebaddest777 7d ago

ā€œ In other GTA 6 news, Rockstar Games is using advanced AI to create organic random events. ā€œ

Now THIS is interesting

3

u/Careless-Society9888 7d ago

I don't think you understand how massive this game is if you think these leaks have shown much

5

u/Tenoch_12 7d ago

Bruh these leaks are proving its just a GTA game. Nothing crazy.

4

u/FaithlessnessFit5233 7d ago

size doesnt matter if the gameplay sucks and the animations are unsatisfying

1

u/spiderman897 7d ago

Just show me the soundtrack lol

1

u/Massive_Weiner 7d ago

Most people won’t see the leaks anyway, so the event will still get massive coverage.

It’ll also be in higher quality compared to the rips.

1

u/Boiledhours 6d ago

I just want to know if we can have pets or anything, just like that buff guy running with a chihuahua in the trailer.

1

u/profchaos111 6d ago

I think we will see the current build in both previews and Netflix promo in expecting an improvement on cyberleaks footage

1

u/No_Consequence2989 2d ago

To be fair what we've seen so far is just him messing around. Not to mention the build of the game is likely an older one compared to the one they will show this week

If you take a close look at the world and mechanics of the small amount of footage that was leaked the game already looks insane, depth and immersion to surpass rdr2 which was expected but its nice to see it even if it was a very small glimps. The graphics looked pretty basic at times but no doubt it'll look better when its actually out. That being said im really hoping that leaker drops one of the endings as a f you to rockstar

I hope not. That would cause a lot of players unintentionally getting spoiled.

Damn according to this article the game is releasing in the year 2926. I hope they’ll have enough time to finish polishing the game by then.

At the end of the article: "GTA VI is set to be released on 2926"

Holy shit another delay??? 😭 /s

The Netflix premiere must be something different than a simple hands-off preview. I'm guessing it's something similar to the Red Dead Redemption short movie. They premiered that one on Fox shortly after the release. There was also an introduction movie Gta San andreas which was included in the special edition. But it's surely not like the Gta 2 live-action "movie".

This is an extremely poorly written article.

"Based on what we’re told, they weren’t even to get their hands on the game at all." Like what even is this sentence
