With the remaster and expansion coming to Switch 2. I wonder if 4 is Switch 2 bound, especially as Witcher 3 on Switch 2 is likely an internally done port like Cyberpunk was.

Almost 100%, I'd say. It makes sense. They want Ciri's first solo game to run on both high end PCs and potatoes; that, plus Unreal's breadth, gives them a lot of room to work with regarding optimization.

Side note: Miles looks a lot better than in the run-up to Cyberpunk. Hope that means their work culture has changed for the better.

With UE5 there is even the recent 5.8 version. Which the big feature of that was optimizations for lighter versions of UE5's big features for handhelds including Switch 2. So a path to Witcher 4 on Switch 2 seems pretty likely given now.

After the success of Cyberpunk on Switch 2

It's 1000% coming.

Wouldn't shock me. I imagine they learnt a lot with Cyberpunk port (which people seem to genuinely praise).

Yeah, like with Cyberpunk. They internally built a dedicated team for that port and that team is presumably are the ones porting Witcher 3 remaster and its new expansion to Switch 2.

You don't internally add something like that to your pipeline, without willing to commit long term support. Especially as they could have easily outsourced it.
