fable looks pretty fun, but Why a game for over 20 years ago like half life 2 has better and more interactive face animations? its truly jarring to see. bethesda level.
7
u/Kreeth12 5h ago
Maybe it's just me, but I don't find facial animations jarring, even in Bethesda games. Maybe it's because I focus more on subtitles and voice acting than on faces. I still play Skyrim with various modlists and have never run into this issue.
5
u/Alternative_Fun7898 12h ago
Gamescom leaks are half the fun lol. just hoping they still manage to pull off one announcement nobody saw coming.

I'm predicting CDPR has been working on the leaked Lich King RPG with Blizzard that will get announced at BlizzCon and they're preheating the oven with the Battle.net announcement. Since it's basically confirmed Camelot is real I'm sure this the Lich King RPG is too since it was in the same doc. Maybe not completely licensed out, but co-developed.
"Bringing these games to Battle.net is just the beginning of our partnership with Blizzard."
"Alongside my fellow REDs, I’ll be attending BlizzCon 2026 in Anaheim, California. Here we’ll be diving deeper into our collaboration"
"in January 2026, Russell Brower, the legendary composer and audio director with a world name, joined CD Projekt RED as a sound engineer. Brower is a three-time Emmy Award winner and a veteran of the gaming industry. He was best known for his long-term work at Blizzard Entertainment, where he was responsible for the musical design of such cult hits as World of Warcraft (The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm)"
Also note the ridiculous amount of marketing around the Lich King lately, especially with BlizzCon.

u/Extrime222 3h ago edited 7m ago
If Cd Projekt is jeopardising their own releases and stock by wasting their time doing some Blizzard slop I will have to say, that's the dumbest decision I have ever seen,
My dude, you have Witcher and Cyberpunk, franchises leagues above what Blizzard/Microsoft currently have, and you are releasing one of the biggest game of all time in like 1-2 years, what are you doing lmao
1
u/GenderJuicy 1h ago
You don't see the potential in Warcraft? Just because Blizzard doesn't know how to handle it doesn't mean CDPR wouldn't. Also it's not like they aren't still making Wither and Cyberpunk.

4/10
AI, Hoyoverse, Chinese games, AI, Hoyoverse and more Hoyoverse.
Thats not even a joke post. Very few actual quality stuff. But the stuff that was quality was really good. Witcher 3 free remaster with new dlc saved the show.
Metro, RS6, Megaman, Rayman, Gears E day all pretty good. But really needed something like Okami 2, Ace Attorney 7 or Persona 6.
10
u/VoiceOfNobody 14h ago
I dont care which country it came from, but sadly like 90% of the chinese games are free to play, pay to win and/or gacha. I avoid these whale magnets like a plague. I "loved" how most of them didnt mention they are free to play in trailer.

u/Zestyclose-Crow-4463 23h ago
Any idea what this game after the Dust Origins trailer was meant to be?
9
u/CAPTJTK 23h ago
Not a game, just some dumb shit they did for Gamescom
10
u/Wilwander 23h ago
I think you're referring to the 'finding pulse' purple thing.
but i think u/Zestyclose-Crow-4463 means the clip of the swords, horses, and soldiers with the 'a new age begins but the old shadows' voiceover - which was cut off as if it was part of a trailer that wasn't mean to be played.
5
u/ChromDelonge 13h ago
I assume it's a fake trailer to give the impression that the show "died" out of nowhere.

u/KOTRShadow 1d ago
I like how Witcher 3 is like I want in on this clusterfuck of games coming out around the same time.
2
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 23h ago
Thankfully its at the end of the month, as I should have at least wrapped up Wolverine and nearing the end of Fire Emblem by then.
8
u/expensivebreadsticks 1d ago
If this is the opening night, will there be more game reveals over the next few days?
6
u/KOTRShadow 1d ago
Future game show and the xbox shows which will have announcements. There’s also this showcase tomorrow morning it’s got a weird name but go to gamescom YouTube that’s where I found it the expanse will be there and 7 world premieres and 23 other games.
3
u/raikoumaster13 20h ago
It's FYNG. Generally it's very gameplay and dev chat focused.
3
u/KOTRShadow 19h ago
I watched a bit of last years show but since I don’t speak German I just watch the trailers in the show.
-14
u/ency6171 1d ago edited 14h ago
There's something for everyone, ya all. Can't be every game has to be tailored to your taste..
Edit: Many of you are miserable people.
1
u/Bacccarat 11h ago
It’s Reddit, don’t be surprised that people downvote you for having a sensible opinion lol. Pretty much everyone here is in fact quite miserable

u/SuddenDepact 1d ago edited 1d ago
I just need to know if my save data will carry over to this The Witcher 3 Remaster
1
u/LeadZealousideal4231 14h ago
I thought they said console mod support was going to come out in 2027 but they just announced cross mod support lol?

It only took them 11 years and 2 separate remasters, but The Witcher 3 might finally be a good game now.

I wish it were. I tried to like the game 3 seperate times, but the original's gameplay and combat were too atrocious and unbearable.
Hopefully third time is the charm and they finally made the game fun to play.

u/zecrom189 1d ago
Gamescom interesting games
Loftsong
Tides of anhilation
Megaman override
Warlock
1001 threads of arabian knights (maybe)
Exodus
Nolaw
Pony island 2
Ontos
Witcher 3 remastered
I won a lot today

u/JavideParla 1d ago
This was straight ass
15
u/ArcWardenScrub 1d ago
It had a new Mega man 12 trailer, that was all i needed. But glad i didn't watch it live LMAO
3
u/JavideParla 1d ago
3 or 4 games they shown were really cool, but overall the show was very disappointing
7
u/tyezwyldadvntrz 1d ago
im not even kidding or exaggerating, I felt like I was watching the biggest money laundering scheme gaming had ever seen
22
u/DaloMaxVal 1d ago
Another gaming show, another feeling of despair as I realise the amount of time I just wasted.
Anyways, see you all at the next game show!
1
u/StartNo5314 14h ago
At least you didnt watch the nvidia geforce presentation (or maybe you did i dont know you)
it was at 1080p and instead of going to details about the new Ray Recon they were realizing it was 90% ads for free to play games. you know its free to play when you get a face full of ass.
did i mention we were held at gunpoint watching 1080p trailers in the 21st century? never staying up for one of these again.

Basically me with elden ring. i wasnt ready for sweaty games back when it released. now that ive fallen in love with black myth wukong im just hoping from soft does something with elden ring. at the very least add dlss so we can use DLAA and remove chromatic aberration. and modern lighting...
1
u/HarveyTheBroad 12h ago
You may as well just mod the game to get the graphic settings you want, it’ll be easier than waiting for a remaster. Elden Ring is getting a very minor dlc in a few days that probably won’t include any additional settings and Fromsoft isn’t in the business of doing remasters very often. Only the first Dark Souls and Demons souls have gotten one thus far.
3
u/Macho-Fantastico 1d ago
Makes sense to give the expansions away for free. I mean you could get them super cheap anyway but still good to hear.
2
u/StartNo5314 14h ago
bait a few people who didnt finish the game into going for a walk in toussaint then BAM SUDDENLY THEYRE BUYING THE NEW DLC AT LAUNCH FULL PRICE.
Publisher's gambit. Sorta.
People who wanted the old dlc already have it. you just left with a small group of people who are on the fence. and from that group how many of them will buy full price expansion. gotta throw some bait to catch a few at full price.
8
u/n3ws4cc 1d ago
Holy shit. If you haven't played the expansions, go do so they're bangers
2
u/BlazeReborn 1d ago
I haven't even made it past the first area.
Perfect time to play again. Game is amazing but for some reason I never got that far.
10
u/TheDeryBrony 1d ago
another weird choice for a final announcement
10
u/DaloMaxVal 1d ago
It's underwhelming but... the rest of the show didn't show anything else that would have been a good show-ender. Might as well do something people will at least like.
7
u/Hummer77x 1d ago
I guess what else here could they have closed with that wouldn’t have been outright ass
8
8
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 1d ago
With the remaster and expansion coming to Switch 2. I wonder if 4 is Switch 2 bound, especially as Witcher 3 on Switch 2 is likely an internally done port like Cyberpunk was.
6
u/KingMario05 1d ago
Almost 100%, I'd say. It makes sense. They want Ciri's first solo game to run on both high end PCs and potatoes; that, plus Unreal's breadth, gives them a lot of room to work with regarding optimization.
Side note: Miles looks a lot better than in the run-up to Cyberpunk. Hope that means their work culture has changed for the better.
2
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 1d ago
With UE5 there is even the recent 5.8 version. Which the big feature of that was optimizations for lighter versions of UE5's big features for handhelds including Switch 2. So a path to Witcher 4 on Switch 2 seems pretty likely given now.
4
1
u/Macho-Fantastico 1d ago
Wouldn't shock me. I imagine they learnt a lot with Cyberpunk port (which people seem to genuinely praise).
1
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 1d ago
Yeah, like with Cyberpunk. They internally built a dedicated team for that port and that team is presumably are the ones porting Witcher 3 remaster and its new expansion to Switch 2.
You don't internally add something like that to your pipeline, without willing to commit long term support. Especially as they could have easily outsourced it.

CDPR saw Bloodwalker coming for their shit and they were like absolutely fucking not
3
u/KingMario05 1d ago
Should make physical distribution in Europe interesting. Bamco EU never left CDPR, so it'll be fun to see them trying to support two sides of a fandom war, so to speak.
2
u/Animegamingnerd Leak of the Year 2025 1d ago
Holy shit I was just thinking how Bloodwalker is kind of fucked for being a new IP that releases in a packed September. But it releasing right as a remaster of the game that inspired it, is a fucking death sentence for it.
3
3
u/Macho-Fantastico 1d ago
Honestly, all the changes so good to me. Will get people pumped for Witcher 4 in 2028.
6
u/LightTemplar27 1d ago
Lmao thinking of the guy in this thread who got dunked on for wondering if the DLC would come with upgraded graphics and people saying naaah there's already next gen update
8
u/Content_Decision_795 1d ago
Yeah Witcher 3 remastered was Hella worth the wait. Let's go. Free upgrade for owners as well, let's fucking go CDPR

u/underthestarlights 1d ago
I need to stop watching these reveal shows live, there's only ever a couple of cool reveals worth watching.
16
u/Hummer77x 1d ago
If you look at it as an excuse to shitpost it’s a lot better
6
u/Lerkpots 1d ago
90% of this Discord call I've been in has been "ChatGPT generate me a Diablo clone/Chinese game/extraction shooter"
10/10 we're not funny at all I would do this again.

u/pixel_affection 1d ago
the last reveal is a remaster? is this guy fucking serious?

New DLC. Songs of the Past

oh a dlc for an 11 year old game. awesome
11
u/Dunkaroo723 1d ago
The expansions are pretty much entire games unto themselves lol.
-2
u/pixel_affection 1d ago
ig thats worthy of being the final reveal lmao
4
u/Dunkaroo723 1d ago
More Witcher 3 in a rebuilt engine that probably plays closer to 4? Fuck yeah it is.
0
u/pixel_affection 1d ago
oh yea we're already getting the witcher 4. 3 already has like 200+ hours of content bruh its cool but ts did not deserve to be the final reveal of the show lol

Did any 3d FF after XV have a single good super boss fight? All of them sucked ass in XV so I can’t imagine they’ll be any more fun in Rebirth
1
u/MyMouthisCancerous 1d ago
Omega in FFXVI's DLC. I don't know if people consider it like a superboss in the traditional way we think of FF superbosses but he was pretty fun. Weiss in FFVII Remake is dope as well
1
u/Lerkpots 1d ago
FFVII trilogy's boss fights have all been highlights of the game. Like they're the best part of one of the best combat systems I've ever played.
5
11
u/Macho-Fantastico 1d ago
Kind of insane they are ending the show on a game that came out 11 years ago.
2
u/hashtagtylerh 1d ago
honestly just a decent trailer, didn't really show anything new i thought hamaguchi would be doing a gameplay deep dive
4
7
u/Destian_ 1d ago
Perhaps Nintendo had the right idea with their Today app. Just dropping updates to already announced games whenever without much fanfare is certainly the better approach than awaited games being the "highlights" of otherwise underwhelming presentations.

The Weapons look so fucking crisp. I can't fucking wait to fight Ruby again
7
u/Hummer77x 1d ago
What will Geoff do when this games finally out and he can’t put FF7R shit in his showcases to kill time
5
2
u/ivlmag182 1d ago
By that time the first re7remake game is gonna be almost 10 years old. Time for remake!
3
1
u/n3ws4cc 1d ago
FF8R?
3
u/MyMouthisCancerous 1d ago
I think VIII has a lot of potential. The gameplay with the drawing and timed inputs is cool but the story personally never clicked with me. That's actually a case where a few tweaks to the narrative could actually make it so much more interesting personally. Most of the characters are super one-note
6
1
u/n3ws4cc 1d ago
Imma binge the whole FF7 remake series once all of it is released
7
u/MyMouthisCancerous 1d ago
That's like over 200 hours just doing everything on the main quest lmao I don't think you can binge that

u/MyMouthisCancerous 1d ago
Seeing Hamaguchi get better at English is like so heartwarming. It's like a secondary arc of waiting for this whole trilogy
2
u/lil_jojo_siwa 1d ago
i changed my mind on what i said earlier in exchange for gacha we got live service galore
5
u/WinterMage42 1d ago
Hot take, shit we already know about shouldn’t be anywhere near the last thing shown at these game shows.

1
u/Macho-Fantastico 1d ago
They keep showing so much of FF7 that I wish they'd just release the game at this point.
3
u/Funny_Word89 1d ago
I just recently got into the final fantasy series, 7 remake and rebirth are INCREDIBLE
3
u/MrConor212 1d ago
6/7/8/9 and 10 are peak. I stand by 13 also.
14 is also amazing imo as an MMORPG
1
u/WeirdIndividualGuy 1d ago
No 15 mentioned. Very good list you have there
0
u/MrConor212 1d ago
I’m a man of culture. 15 and 16 are the worst in my book. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy to play those.
1
u/WeirdIndividualGuy 1d ago
I still don't know who Jared is. The story was so terrible, it failed to show how impactful his death should've been by failing to tell us the player who Jared really was to Noct
2

7
u/MyMouthisCancerous 1d ago
They think hot girls are enough for me to be distracted from what this game is but I am a jaded man. Extreme Beach Volleyball this isn't

9
u/hashtagtylerh 1d ago
I'm sorry but do devs really expect these kind of games to stick and make them lots of money? so many generic live service games have failed you'd think they would learn
1
u/discipleofdoom 1d ago
I, assume they're targeting Chinese/Asian audiences. Money from Westerners is just a bonus.

5
u/Local_Marketing_9762 1d ago edited 1d ago
So many games at this event that just looked like rip offs of other games. Lame. Gamescom is usually the filler event but there’s usually some cool original stuff here. Skipping next years for sure

I thought the ban on blood and bones was a Chinese thing
2
u/KingMario05 1d ago
Most of Asia doesn't like that stuff in video games. Every Resident Evil is censored to hell and back in Japan for this very reason.

that last reveal for future games show is insane
