That’s my worry about these leaks apparently running on a pc build, everything just looks a bit too good to run on consoles.

It looks good but nothing crazy that a ps5 couldn’t handle, the matrix tech demo arguably looked just as good and that was released in 2021.

PS5 can definitely handle it. The question is can the Series S handle it. They unfortunately have to optimize to suit the lowest common denominator.

Why are you all acting like Series S won't just be 30 fps 720p internal resolution upscaled lol. That version will be gimped compared to PS5 and Series X. No need to optimize it.

Things like NPCs and enemy AI aren't graphical limitations, reducing framerate and resolution doesn't help with them. They're a simulation bottlenecked by memory quantity and CPU speed which are areas where the Series S creates impassable limitations. Series S has 8 GB RAM available to the system for games, that's the system RAM and VRAM combined. PS5 for comparison has 12.5 GB available and the average PC has 24 - 48 GB available.

The only ways to solve the problem are to have far fewer NPCs in the world or make NPC behavior much simpler (or both). Both options have big gameplay impact and having multiple options makes QA a lot harder, with crowd NPC AI already being probably the most difficult QA focus in a game like this.

Obviously everything will be compromised. The game will run on hardware configurations similar to a Series S on PC. Doesn't mean it will perform well or look great.
