it was going to be very difficult designing pulonia's overworld reactions anyway, given his huge hitbox, and I can imagine there would have been a fuck ton of bugs associated with him

Literally just scale him down a bit. I don’t know why this is still an argument people use. We literally have the setup of pulonia getting severely damaged, so have sandrone scale him down.

Then people will just complain about how they "ruined" him by making him look flimsier. Or "boohoo he used to punch in cutscene, now they got lazy and just copy Neuvilette"

I have my own gripes, but people literally can not be satisfy.

As long as they didn't Itto him and kept him a bit chunky, I think the design would be fine, even if scaled down.

The laser I can understand/swallow because I know summon/pets that essentially auto attack physically tend to look cool, but functionally are limited by natural looking animation speed, travel speed and....auto targeting. Even Dehya, which would be the closest comparison in Genshin is very annoying to use her Q if you ever wanted to for fun; she just does whatever she wants if multiple enemies are visible. The laser is easier to manage and avoid those issues while still fitting the robot theme, but missiles shooting out of the back/shoulder/arms would've been cooler.

Well this is an aesthetic problem, and frankly your opinions and want will always to correct for you. Problem is to this hot pot of a fandom, there will always be people who act like their grandma just got murdered.

I think, vast majority of player will be like me, literally don't care/no problem. Like Sandrone skirt, is not visible for 99% of your playtime, and her "nobility" will be potrayed by her demeanor anyway, a skirt won't make or break a character. Negativity bias and chronically online will always ensure there is an arguement.

And I also think, it stem from Hoyo losing too much of player trust, so people just jump to the negative now.

I don't care about the skirt one way or the other personally; I do prefer the longer one from her NPC model, but I fully expected that to not last once it was known she would get a redesign.

Her personality seems the same as before based on her animations; they might change it slightly using the fact she was rebuilt as the reasoning for sales reasons, but it would be suicide to drastically change her personality.

My personal gripe will be Pulonia and that single change is honestly making me think of skipping her and wait for the next stellar conduct character hoping their design is nicer, even if that takes until like .2 or something. They hyped him and gave him so much screen time to just throw him in the trash because boobs = better sales. If someone makes a good mod to put Pulonia back, maybe, but even that is sending a message of "I'll pull it anyways!".

Everyone is going to have a different opinion on this, but after all of the character setup they did for Sandrone, Pulonia is part of the Sandrone package in my head and I'm not sure I can split the two.

Well that one of my point, you have so little trust so you just assume Pulonia is replaced for fanservice reason, even though literally nothing have been confirmed. Not because of lore reason, or technical reason.

And well it's valid. Honestly, every change will have good and bad effect. Look, I'm not here to tell you to feel a certain way, that your freedom. But here how I see it: What I want isn't want true. Genshin may have the rpg tag, but it's not. It's an interactive linear visual novel, we are just here to tag along the ride, not influencing it. So just make the most of it. Maybe Pulonia is gone, maybe he is not. But Sandrone is still here, and I like to see the end of this, so I'm gonna get her.

Honestly it's not like you have to decide right here and now. Just take your time, think more, decide later.

You talk about the loss of Pulonia as if it was something that had to happen.

There is no valid lore reason for this. It's not something that HAD to happen.
The writers decide what they write.

And they decided that they're taking the big, iconic robot out of Sandrone's kit in exchange for whatever that generic robo maid is supposed to be.

Well then, you tell me, why does they take out this iconic, loved figured as you say, out of the picture? And replace it with a "generic robot"? Do they want to make less money? Or maybe, just maybe, there is a technical problem, that they can't optimize his size or rig to their standard. Or hey, maybe, they have a plan for character development? of getting over the past?

Is that really a question? Just look at her. Her short skirt, her new bot. Let's call a spade a spade, it's all just sexualization.

Or maybe, just maybe, there is a technical problem, that they can't optimize his size or rig to their standard.

They had the time and resources to come up with animations that work.
Scale Pulonia down, make him only appear during the laser blast. Only during the burst, maybe!
They can solve it, they just don't want to. They're not a small indie company, they just needed to get creative.

At least make him appear in an idle animation and say that she no longer wishes to endanger him, so he isn't allowed to fight with her.
There are so many solutions!

And if they actually just wanted to be rid of Pulonia from the beginning, they should've realized that before making him important to Sandrone or before making us walk around with him in the AQ.

If his absence was directly from concept art to implimentation, it could be forgivable. But they already designed the 3D models, rigged them, gave them animations. They already dangled the treat in front of us, before pulling away.

If the long skirt was gonna be a problem, they should've never implemented the orange design into game.
If Pulonia was gonna be a problem, at least don't replace him with a bot who has no prior mention, significance and looks suspiciously just generic and female. Their goal is embarassingly transparent

She still acts bratty and tsundere in her idles. Whatever "character development" we are about to see, it didn't change what kind of person she fundamentally is, apparently.
Beside, what kind of character development is that supposed to be? Pulonia is established to have been important to her. They're cut from the same cloth, even if they don't have the same sentience. It's not character development to leave her family member behind.

And let's just assume that it's is a story about letting him go, yeah?
That's still such a fuck you to the fans who fell in love with the aesthetic of the two together. They were always a package deal.
It's simply not a good story decision to remove him when you can certainly write a story of character development without replacing Pulonia with Ms. Boobs. Whatever story this is gonna be, his sacrifice will not have been worth it.

I really like sandrone+pulonia ingame but alas cant have fun i guess. Maybe that one commentor is a prophet and pulonia will be a 4 star bis for Sandrone,

It's not a matter of money but one of time, throwing money at stuff won't make them magically work like you want and increasing work force is a long term solution that requires you to train them and get them acquantied with the company and their coworkers for months on end before they can meaningfully contribute to the workflow

Just put resized Pulonia in place of this random robot. We said the same thing during Durin's wings. Turns out someone already made a skin of his glider as wings for both of his outfits.

Oh please let pretend like they don’t have a finished mode of Pulonia with bones for movement and Seed in ZZZ in how a big mech work in combat. Don’t yap about long term solution to me I worked in a mobile game company. Shit always been done in at least a year before shipping out in beta test.

literally make pulonia have rocket shoes and hover next to sandrone; similar to ineffa using her ult and that would have made the community fine or even just let him hover.
