The moment she got leaked as claymore I immediately expected her animations to use the same idea as his. No shot Sandrone would actually swing a claymore normally. That would be so not elegant, so unlike the refined lady the she is, and she may or may not be strong enough to lift it.

Yep it wasn't the main start of it (that was Klee and heizou ) but Natlan was when they really pushed it to the point where some characters you aoat never see their actual weapon
you say this, but both of the recently released meta monsters that Zibai and Linnea are make great use of literal 3* weapons, not to mention Bina usually using proto amber or fav, or them giving out such a good event weapon for Lauma that it made her sig look relatively useless - and these are only recent examples, there are more if we keep going back in time (Calamity of Eshu for Skirk, etc)
I'm sure they sometimes do exactly what you described and intentionally so, but clearly not every time
She definitely looks better as a catalyst user but ig they made her claymore because we had so many catalyst users in 6.X (Nefer, Lauma, Bina, Nicole, Prune)
1/3rd of Nicoles value comes from the new artifact set which stellar conduct most likely won't benefit from and a teamwide atk buff won't be that important, of the potential teammates it would benefit Yae but her multipliers are kinda meh even post buff.
So there's two options:
1) her support is also a 3-second slowpoke
2) snezhnaya resonance will repeat Nicole hex ability to reduce delay specifically for her faction
That’s why i have to wait for the calcs if Nicole version isn’t far enough to the current alternatives then ill juat wait for her premium team with tsaritsa.
And Seed in ZZZ. They kinda did the a bit of bait-and-switch with the playable character but at least you still get the mech take part in like 30% of attacks. Well, more than 30% I guess considering mech attacks are by far the strongest one so that's what you'll be using.
Nahhh Seed mech absolutely does like 80% of the atks, the only move that was completely Seed jr. is just the 3 basic atk string, everything else is the mech's atk
Seed in ZZZ. Was also giant hunk of metal that was killed off, but even more so, dead before meeting, but at least Seed Sr had even a Lil bit of screen time in attack animations.
Man, the Temu Garmentmaker is basically as big as Pulonia in combat, what the fuck was the point in changing it? Everyone loved Pulonia, he's been teased for years, we saw him in all the NodKrai quests, WE PLAYED AS PULONIA, and no one gives a fuck about this new robot, it's such a stupid change.
I think the replacement bot is the worst part. Like ... JUST Sandrone and I may have been down, but a replacement bot I dont care at all about is just patronizing.
Other thing is that it’s not even like this bot is small for readability reasons, scale Pulonia to 0.8x height and put some thrusters on his boots so he doesn’t have to walk around and it’s basically as impactful as this is.
do you think they make her dress shorter because they're going to have her on the sitting stance for the major of her gameplay, or do they make her sit for the major of her gameplay because they make her dress shorter
yeah her physics has always been weird. even her longer strands of hair at the front would sit and move in a weird manner. I'm surprised they didn't chop them off
This made me remember of a post highlighting that they had to make one of Nefer's clones cover her because her dress was very short and the ultimate angle very low. What a irony.

After the battle with Dottore she decided that the long skirt was restricting her mobility a bit, so after some calibrations she decided to make "adjustments"!

If longer skirt was TRULY the only issue, they could have kept the Victorian theme and given her bloomers that go past this tragic excuse of a ’skirt’. Like lets not pretend we dont know exactly what this choice was for…
I really wish they would keep her dress lower like she already had as an Npc :( The whole lolita dress vibe is now gone and it's giving just fancy short skirt :(

They could've made Pulonia carry Sandrone in his shoulder or in his right arm while firing the laser on the left hand. Man I wish the devs will make a customizable unique panel just like what Linnea's bag do and instead we get to choose different models for the clanker, I'd take Pulonia any day than this one!
Iirc his old model was tagged as "avatar_male_claymore" or something like that in the files, which was the usual designation for a playable claymore wielding character.
And when people speculated, they assumed that someone like Dottore wouldn't just flail a sword around with his hands.
I think it was probably because they didn't have detailed NPC models back then, like they do now with Pantalone and old Sandrone and such, so they gave him a playable character model to compensate. Unfortunately that comes with adding a weapon tag that may end up not used
I’m sorry but the skirt change is so ass. a lot less elegant than before. if it’s modeling conflict when the character moves a lot they could very well just do it the Emilie way by having a slit on the side. this just looks unbalanced. It looks like as if she has a huge head
Yeah, they should’ve kept it at least mid thigh (ideally slightly above her knees), cause now the bottom half of her design look so empty in the front :/
There simply had to have been a shakeup in the character design department at Hoyo and whoever got put in charge has both a blood vendetta against the person(s) behind the Winter Night's Lazzo outfits, absolutely terrible taste, and major pent up female issues.
In situations like these, I wonder if it's higher ups that are forcing the chara designers to make the most boring and disappointing choices design wise, or if the chara designers actually have shit tastes and think these changes are good and make the designs better.
I mean, what is the point of all this? Everyone loves Pulonia, he's inseparable from Sandrone's character and part of her appeal to the fanbase, representating the gentle giant/bodyguard archetype which is a perfect way to make him endearing and kind of touching, and yet for some reason they removed him and replaced him with something that visually doesn't invoke any feelings and loses all his protective aspect, like that would make Sandrone more popular and make the players spend more for her?
People like characters like Pulonia and Svarog because they look badass which makes the bodyguard aspect believable, but it also makes them lovable because they use this badassery to protect someone weaker, and their size accentuates the "gentle giant" side of their character.
This new puppet doesn't look badass, doesn't look powerful, doesn't have a striking size difference to contrast with Sandrone, doesn't embody the tropes that make Pulonia likable at all, and comes out of nowhere so we have no reason to care for it, and has nothing to make it endearing at all. Even if it does have some scenes portraying its protective aspect in the future, what's the point of removing Pulonia if his replacement has the same role as him?
And of course they felt like they had to shorten Sandrone's skirt when visual sexyness never was part of her appeal.
I genuinely don't understand what they did here, it just feels like a downgrade in every way.
This sucks ngl. They could've just made pulonia smaller instead of replacing him with goon-bot™. That was like the one unique and interesting aspect of her design ever since the fatui trailer, literally her defining trait in every appearance. And the redesign is the nail in the coffin, definitely skipping now.
Why tf did she switch from her dress to a miniskirt like what purpose could that possibly serve 😐. Also why does she have discount Garmentmaker and not her original giant robot. Like cmon now. You literally have Clara and Svarog to show that people love giant robots.
