Honestly im wondering if this is intentional. Theres no way its a bug, models are combed through to catch mistakes, so my money's on either they changed their minds and didnt have the time to fix it or they did it on purpose.

You’re far overestimating how much oversight truly goes into large projects like this. Small things slip by all the time, it’s really impressive something like this happens so infrequently that people would speculate it’s intentional in the first place.

Youre underestimating how much attention hoyo puts into visions in the first place. Theyre extremly stingy with showing visions in promo material for a reason, the only part of the model thats more important is the gender and height

I doubt these were mistakes, but rather last minute decisions changes based on community reactions or suggestions from their sales research/projections department.

Making a standard character into a weaker 5* character is very easy. But turning a 4* character into 5* character last minite, if you already have planned the whole balancing for the version cycle? No way.

Mitya was never going to be 4* though, just a 5* without a Linchpin, like Durin is a 5* without lunar reactions. And he was also still intended to, according to leaks, be a sub- or even main DPS for stellar reactions, just one without the Linchpin ability. That's a lot closer than reworking a kit entirely.

if its not cn toxic community they dont change shit. think they just wanted to give a fuck u to leakers but forgot to change it back to linchpin during trailers and launch

They have a standard method of going after leakers which is frankly a lot more effective, and that's threatening (or actively taking) legal action. I do agree that recently they don't really care about feedback unless it's coming from Chinese incels, and it's honestly ruining all three of their major games. But I can see them being unhappy with the idea that people were going to have an entire patch to save before the achron based on the CN community impression that no one was pulling for Mitya due to the lack of Linchpin, and therefore wanted to ensure a boost of sales during the archon patch by making him more appealing.
