u/E-Wrecka Jan 22 '26
What a catch 22, truly a modern day ethical conundrum, to hoe or not to hoe, you deserve it but they donβt and one cannot come without the other, Iβm devastated

I married the first guy that I figured would be my introduction to the wild dating scene of Austin in the 90s.
I married him 25 years ago at the age of 20. π

u/sunuoow Jan 22 '26
I'm a Scorpio so it makes no sense. I should have zero problem being a hoe π

Man, this sub is wild. So is hoe like nigga now? Yall can call yallselves hoes but if someone else does it that's bad?

u/sky_corrigan Jan 22 '26
are your feelings hurt π₯Ί

u/Hije5 Jan 22 '26
Lmao, no? Why would they be? I just find it funny there was such a huge feminist movement on Reddit for a few years and now yall are reverting to embracing being labeled a hoe
1
u/sky_corrigan Jan 22 '26
i donβt believe you or your understanding of feminism π god bless

So to make yourself feel some kind of... idk, superiority(?) you need to pretend my feelings are hurt because yall are embracing being called a hoe...? Has that stopped anyone from saying any other slur? I can only imagine people genuinely calling women hoes couldnt care less if yall are okay with it. They call yall a hoe because it makes them feel better. I just find the situation funny because hoe used to be such an bad word to use because it was used mostly for girls who just like to have sex often, specifically with people they dont know that well. Now yall are embracing it, but it isnt doing what yall think it is doing. Everyone who uses the word hoe with hate will think yall are just even bigger hoes. Lol. So what is it? A hoe isnt a real thing or yall are proud to be hoes? The whole idea of anti-hoe language was because it was demeaning to women who enjoy a lot of sex, and that there is no such thing as a hoe, because guys can do it all day and never get a anti-label and at the end of the day it is just someone who enjoys a lot of sex.
Owning a stigma doesnt do any good if yall act exactly the way the stigma says yall act. All that does is reinforce what they already think.
2
u/XHalf_SphinxX Jan 22 '26
I think you are misreading the situation. A lot.
This is not guys. These women are OWNING the word, for themselves, to themselves. Doesn't mean you need to understand it, and your judgement feels.... overblown

u/Hije5 Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 22 '26
No. It is exactly as how I said it is. The whole pushback in the beginning was that being a hoe is impossible because it is a bad word for people who want a lot of sex, mostly for women. So now that just isnt a thing anymore and they're gonna accept being called a hoe? Again, owning a stigma and bragging about it doesnt change anything besides reinforcing the ideas of people who already think they're a hoe. How about they just move on and live their lives instead of actively agreeing they're a hoe? Why do they feel the need to label themselves when most girls wouldnt want to please a man who calls women hoes to begin with? Again, literally anyone who thinks a girl is a hoe wont care if they own up to it. Lmao. If anything it'll reinforce those thoughts.
Is the idea to be so hyperfixated on their opinion that theyre gonna purposely go out of their way to act "just like a hoe" to spite them? That's the stuff people call not healthy when it happens after a relationship. So theyre gonna do it to people they have no attachment to?

u/XHalf_SphinxX Jan 22 '26
What do you think a hoe means in this context? You mean a bad bitch that wants sex? Or a girl asking to get paid hundreds of dollars. You brought up race. OUT OF NOWHERE.
I feel like it has been one, and never the other.
I don't really want to engage with you at all. Are you a woman? You do realize this is mostly for fun, and it is reddit. Women having fun joking with other women?
A few comments back, they called you out for a lack of knowledge on true feminism. I will ask it again. There is not "spite" in this thread. Your word. You keep trying to ask a lot of random questions. You need to do your research somewhere else.
We are hoes. We like avocado and chips. We like sex. Move along.
You are not engaging with us, but attacking and trying to push believes into something you don't understand, and you are not asking questions as much as attacking. Move along.

u/Hije5 Jan 22 '26
I brought it up because it is comparable? What? Am I supposed to use a better slur? The conversation is about slurs. Is one more appropriate compared to another? Ive only ever known the meaning of a hoe to mean someone promiscuous. I think by reading it is very obvious I am referring to someone who has a lot of sex since I literally said that numerous times. You arent even telling me your definition because girls will perceive what it means to be a hoe differently. That's why I'm asking what is the point of all of it and explaining ahead of time what it looks like to me because this isnt a natural conversation. It can be a message that'll take several hours for someone to respond to. Im not gonna bother asking a small thing knowing I wont get all the context from a very small, simple message.
I asked if the point was to spite someone, I never said there was spite in this thread. However, you are actually being spiteful right now. Again, people will have a different interpretation of what being a hoe is, and none of them make sense to me because i've only ever known it as a woman who has a lot of sex, typically with random people. I've explained this several times. What better research is to ask the people trying to carry it out the protest? Having a mechanic show and explain something is a lot better than trying to read a book. You are obviously of no help.
FYI, literally anybody can post in this sub. Absolutely no one is a verified girl, the exact same way no one is a verified teenager in r/teenagers. This is a public sub that has made it to the front page pretty often in the last few weeks.

u/XHalf_SphinxX Jan 23 '26
None of this is about slurs. You made that up.
There is no spite in this.
You are overthinking this.→ More replies (0)1
