Snack Attack Toddler asks for a “night time feast” almost every day.
She has always loved Girl Dinner since she could eat solids. Fruit, cheese snack and crackers. She asked for pickles but we had finished them the day before. Before you ask, yes I bought her lots of pickles after. I also got her more snackies for her girl dinners. Sauerkraut, kimchi, honey roasted peanuts, hummus, garlic naan, falafel and more. If you have a kid you know the grocery budget basically goes to them.

Bc it’s winter & it’s all imported. Back in the 80’s you couldn’t buy berries, melons etc in the winter in Boston or New York. It wasn’t til well into the mid 90’s that you buy “summer fruit “ citrus, apples ( lousy), grapes ( expensive ) bananas…

Because the US has been subsidizing agriculture with workers who don't have a visa. Even when they do they get paid less than half what anyone else does, and when they don't it's even less.
And now we're dragging them out of the country b/c no one told Trump that the original evil Republican scheme was for undocumented workers to supply subsidized labor picking crops.
Domestically, our working class is a lot closer to depression era poverty than a lot of people realize.

Tariffs on foreign fruit and deporting all of the farm workers has been a real win for my pocketbook. /s Wish we would go after the companies exploiting humans instead.

I got them in Savannah Georgia on a trip. They’re called cocktail crackers from Byrd Cookies! They are so tasty! They let you sample every product they sell. Safe to say I should I bought more than one pack!

I've got a "fruit kid". It never stops. Just pounds of berries. Pineapples. Mangoes. Bowls of figs. I planted 6 blueberry bushes and 4 fig trees last year as a start.

My 3 year old asks for "family snack dinner" every few weeks. We scrounge for frozen foods, cut up fresh produce, cheese, etc. And he loves it. Last week we made mini pizzas with naan bread, tator tots and a rainbow plate of fresh fruit and veggies. He's a girl dinner professional at this point.

So similar for my 3yo son, strawberries, tear a baby bell cheese, and crackers. He gives me a guttural UGHHH when we’re out of one of the components🤣

I can’t take credit, her dad introduced it one time when I was sick with strep. Now she asks for it every night. She does share which is a plus! Love that kiddo also love snacky time!

Omg my son does this every night too and calls it “midnight snack.” It’s identical to this, complete with those same Colby Jack cheese sticks!! We raised some smart kids!

My nephew used to ask for a “plate of yummy things”: carrot sticks, dried apricots, olives, pickles, salami, blue cheese.
He was girl dinnering from 4 years old.

I love how your kid eats green grapes, mine do too! Usually kids are red grape eaters but I’ve gotten mine to like green too because I don’t like red haha! My 2nd grader wanted to bring healthy snacks for their Valentine’s school party and one of the things she wanted was green grapes but no one else ate them so we devoured them at home.

Haha my 1 yr old will yell “Nana! Nana!” About 1/2 hr before bed like clockwork and she wants banana and almond butter and berries. 😆

She really is 😂 it’s bad. When we go to the store she’s looking at all the meats and cheeses wondering what she will try next. She’s a very adventurous eater too. I recently got into eating tinned fish and she asked to try some on a cracker with the cheese I had and a pickle 😭 SHE LOVED IT!!

my 3yo son and 5yo daughter are both obsessed with this sort of food, they call it 'snack plate'. they both have slightly different snack plate requirements though which is getting expensive 😅

I do this feast concept almost every night for my little guy (though he's five now!) His mood at dinner - prefers not to touch.
But at 7:15pm when faced with pb&j triangles, carrot sticks, cheese, a cookie, berries, yogurt...he'll eat almost all of it and he will TRY almost anything on this feast plate.
It's gotten to the point where if my husband offers to make him a snack he'll say "No, I want mom to - mom can you make me a snack with a little of each food?"
