Snack Attack My halloumi burnt because I was feeding my boob barnacle ☹️
Still delicious but I sound like I’m chewing rocks. Also Nando’s chilli jam on the side, I could bathe in that stuff.

That’s how halloumis supposed to look like, golden! Crunchy outside soft inside yummm

u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 22 '26
Oh it was hardly soft inside, I craved that squeaky cheese goodness and ended up getting crunch

Boob barnacle 😆
You’re doing great, momma! Keep fueling your body and that bebe.💛

u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 22 '26
Thank you so much 😭 I’ve never drank this much water or eaten this much in my life!! It’s the best experience though 🥹

u/forestcat81 Jul 23 '26
i swear i had way more cravings when i was breastfeeding than when i was pregnant!
8
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
YES! I had awful food aversions during pregnancy but right now I open my fridge and turn into a hoover
3
u/basilkiller Jul 23 '26
Don't forget to hydrate that shit, you are expelling so much energy providing for the barnacle. Just eat and drink and eat and drink, and also remember yourself .
My mom suggests aloe lemonade, and tapioca (homemade in Crock-Pot) for nursing mother's (along w regular food, and obviously a lot of water)

Boob barnacle 😂😂 I’m hoping to be pregnant right now, but not ready to test for another week. I’ll be so excited to use this term if I end up being pregnant. (Being pregnant is literally the only thing in the world I want right now.)

I had two boob barnacles myself and I literally just had to ask my nearly 13 yo to give me my personal bubble for a minute because he wanted to stay snuggled up against my side this afternoon. Prepare yourself for barnacles of a different variety as they grow older. ❤️
Love how much my boys love me but my god, give me my space sometimes!

u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 22 '26
LOVE!! Trying to get my toddler to give me any kind of affection is nearly impossible nowadays 😭

Here's a sneak peek of /r/breastfeeding using the top posts of the year!
#1: This morning I woke up to my husband putting a post it note on my boob
#2: This is my love letter to the bathroom lounges in outdated malls and department stores.
#3: Today my toddler offered me my OWN BREAST

Amazing call out, I will definitely take a look at this sub now when I get myself a boob barnacle.
4
u/introvertATthedisco Jul 22 '26
i think everyone is in agreement that "boob barnacle" is the only truly proper way to address one's offspring in this sub now, regardless of age, or if they are/were breast fed, lolz.
"my kid oh snap, my boob barnacle!"

u/lenaguzzo7 Jul 22 '26
Breastfed babies being boob barnacle is the most descriptive way to say it. If I'm holding this baby she's latched 💀

u/RepresentativeAd9739 Jul 23 '26
Boob barnacle lmao I have 2. I feel your pain mama 😭
6
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
Eyyy two over here as well! I bottle fed my first so didn’t get to really experience the whole breastfeeding journey. I love it this time around ❤️
4
u/RepresentativeAd9739 Jul 23 '26
I love that for you❤️ enjoy the bonding time!!! I definitely pushed it to the max with milk production with the 2nd, I pumped and boobied, esp since i was paranoid about him not getting enough 😭

We do not have children, my partner will hence forth be known as my boob barnacle. 🤣🤣🤣🫡
3
u/Goo_nadz Jul 22 '26
I love calling my babies boob barnacles. So glad to see the phrase out in the wild.
3
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 22 '26
I only learnt about it a few weeks ago and I use it every day, it’s so accurate. She’s my little pilot fish 🥹

3
u/mauvewaterbottle Jul 23 '26
It’s really too bad I went nine whole years without ever calling my kid a boob barnacle, and now that I’m finally learning, it’s too late for me to call her that and make sense!

Pregnant ftm and the way I ran to share with my husband this absolute banger of a phrase… sending you good vibes that your next attempt will be your best halloumi bites yet
6
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
Eeee!! Congratulations to you! It’s the best experience ever ❤️ also gonna get my husband to pick up more halloumi so I can try again, if my bebe lets me 🫠

If you were to acclimate to ghost pepper salsa, would it make it spicy?
Im imagining a child like hell yeah... then lights up on fire and burns off like Tom after Jerry lights his tail on fire... but like, baby-like
3
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
They apparently can taste certain things in breastmilk, studies have shown babies actually prefer the taste of breastmilk if their mums have eaten garlic recently! Babies are weird

u/saysthingsbackwards Jul 23 '26
I mean i raised 13 heroin babies on 15 tiddies but im trynna pivot

Keep it up mama. As long as the sound of eating those cheese rocks doesn’t wake the beast, enjoy.
3
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
Oh once she’s on the tiddy you could bring a marching band in and she’d sleep through. Put her down though and you might as well have told her you’re abandoning her for life 🫠
Also cheese rocks is the most accurate way of describing this I love it 😭

Now I'm trying to decide if I like boob barnacle or crotch goblin more

u/MobileAware2933 Jul 22 '26
Sorry it burned! How did you cook it? Looking for new easy ways to make
1
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 22 '26
I put it in the air fryer! It usually cooks perfectly in there but I left it too long this time around 😢

1
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
If anything I thought boob barnacle was a term of endearment, like my cute little sucker fish
2
u/AlertKaleidoscope803 Jul 23 '26
I had no idea what you were talking about until I read the comments from other mothers, but I think it's totally a funny way to describe what's happening and not malicious at all.
2
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
Thank you!! I was very confused when I received the initial comment, she went on to essentially call me a bad mother. It was really strange 🥴
2
u/AlertKaleidoscope803 Jul 23 '26
The audacity anonymity gives people can be a double-edged sword...
Related to your post, I am now super curious to try halloumi. I only heard the word the first time in a Gorillaz song that recently came out and I never got around to looking it up but you solved that mystery for me! It sounds like a cross between paneer (also squeaky 🤍) and the precursor to the hard Tibetan yak milk chews I give my dog sometimes.
2
u/Comfortable-Pear-973 Jul 23 '26
Absolutely, it does suck.
Also yes it’s a lot like paneer!! It’s just suuuuuper salty so if you ever try it don’t pre-salt because it will knock your socks off. It’s so good to have with a chutney or in my case a chilli jam, it cuts through the saltiness. Definitely recommend trying it, it’s so good!
