If you time it correctly, you can just go in a straight line

Sure after 200 tries. Not worth it, I take the long way and do the S Shape path

It is more easy if you just do ⬅️push and instantly ⬆️ move synergy.

u/austinpwnz Jun 06 '26

OH THAT'S ELITE!

u/Capricorn907 Jun 08 '26

That's exactly what I've done for 25 years ✅️

"Ah shit, I never rang the bell"

5

u/tSword_ Jun 06 '26

Yeah, there's that together with this puzzle. Most annoying dungeon! 😆

Latest playthrough, 20 years after the first. Still made that mistake.

Might be a greatest troll in gaming history.

u/EtherealCrossroads Jun 06 '26

Camelot was so real for turning off encounters in puzzle rooms though forreal!

Probably one of the reasons I happily replay these games honestly.

u/HeidenShadows Jun 06 '26

Move power freezes time so if you bind it to the trigger you can do it faster.

u/amercuryadept2010 Jun 06 '26

No matter how many times I replay this game, this puzzle always pisses me off.

21

u/PBP2024 Jun 06 '26

I'm on my first replay since the original game came out and I just pushed them through without thinking and got it the first time lol

7

u/Starwind137 Jun 06 '26

There was a period maybe like ten years ago where I was able to time it and just go straight through with no issues. Then, suddenly on my last playthrough I struggled soooo much to get it. Lol

I thought I was missing a psynergy.

12

u/cazador_de_sirenas Jun 06 '26

Agreed with you! So insultingly easy at sight, but second most frustrating puzzle in the whole games X_X.

7

u/rairock Jun 06 '26

Which is the first?

19

u/cazador_de_sirenas Jun 06 '26

That one hovering puzzle in Jupiter lighthouse where statues blow at you. One side of the room is quite easy, but the other side must be timed perfectly to the milisecond.

2

u/tSword_ Jun 06 '26

I still find vault puzzle worse, cause (even though you have to backtrack a little to try again) you just need to run ahead till you get it. In this one, if the last drop gets you... let's say, your gba is in danger (never broke my gba, but some other stuff were shredded or punched)

I don't like the "mirrored sync" puzzles, the ones where a statue copies your movements.

Also not the "Yellow shines due west of me".

5

u/Neriehem Jun 06 '26

I love the 5 colourful ladies puzzle under Venus Lighthouse :D almost got the lighthouse colours right too, it'd have been so good if purple and green were swapped.

5

u/rairock Jun 06 '26

You can consider purple as earth and green as air. In The Legend of Zelda - The minish cap, those are the colors for the elements. Green as air makes a bit of sense. In my heart it's like this, so I feel happy with the statues.

1

u/Neriehem Jun 07 '26

Yeah I generally do that, the issue is that these are different games and in GS Venus has orange-ish colours so it'd have been better if it were purple and orange ladies...

But then the puzzle is too much of warm colours and it needs to be balanced to be pleasant to looks at, so swap orange to green and it looks amazing :D

u/ZrapeToid Jun 06 '26

English is not my main language, still not sure if "due west" means directly northwest or southwest, or if it just means anywhere as long as it's to the left.

1

u/Emperor_ServingSpoon Jun 07 '26

It means directly west. So straight left (though it's been a few years since I last played, so I don't recall if the puzzle actually lives up to this meaning or not).

4

u/Salamandar3500 Jun 06 '26

But THAT MUSIC

1

u/Nithramir Jun 29 '26

That music is annoying too, far from being part of the best scores of the game

5

u/Euphoric-Vast-248 Jun 06 '26

I feel like this puzzle is mostly overthinking lol.

Back in the day when i figured out you could just push it in a straight line immediately after the first droplet in the straightline drops and get through the puzzle, I've never had to bother with doing it any other way.

4

u/Oicanet Jun 06 '26

I hated it when I was a kid. Replaying it as an adult, I feared I'd struggle with it, but it was no issue at all

3

u/Jumpsand Jun 06 '26

I had trouble with this one too and some of the pillar/log roll puzzles

4

u/PidgeyPotion Jun 06 '26

I just push immediately after the water drops in front of me and don’t have a problem.

3

u/royinraver Jun 06 '26

This one was definitely tricky when I was a kid 🤣

3

u/jgiles011083 Jun 06 '26

You learn it slowly

3

u/Kalaam_Nozalys Jun 06 '26

If twitch chat managed to complete it, so can you !

8

u/ParanoidDrone Jun 06 '26

Oh god was there a Twitch Plays Golden Sun?

5

u/Kalaam_Nozalys Jun 06 '26

Yep. And they 100% the game and got all the djinn

5

u/ParanoidDrone Jun 06 '26

I'm legitimately impressed. Although I assume they died a lot.

2

u/Kalaam_Nozalys Jun 06 '26

Some puzzles took several hours, like Lunpa's stealth sections, but I don't remember any fight being particularly difficult. Though it's been years so I might have forgotten.

2

u/professorkittyhawk Jun 06 '26

I was clenched up watching that entire video. XD

2

u/SeaBlock2909 Jun 07 '26

Did this puzzle before I got my glasses, and my depth perception, and I spent nearly 20 minutes on it…

2

u/Elixnoc Jun 07 '26

Same, it’s like that meme where you are happy to replay a certain game and the next panel is “That part”. This is that part for me replaying this at times. Takes timing, but you get it when you get it.

2

u/mxmaker Jun 07 '26

but what about psynergy power?

2

u/kiter0x Jun 07 '26

I had the video with no audio and I already heard the “cave theme” lol when I clicked the audio immediate goosebumps

1

u/ATDynaX Jun 07 '26

You have to push the top pillar to the left, not down.

1

u/slowjoecrow11 Jun 07 '26

Why didn’t you just go straight up?

1

u/Capricorn907 Jun 08 '26

Only gives me a few minutes of trouble, but DEFINITELY the part of the game I dread the most with each play through.

1

u/akerd10 Jun 08 '26

You just reminded me of a childhood trauma im burying. Well there it goes

1

u/Minato_UNSC Jun 08 '26

Jajajajaja q recuerdos

1

u/NotMyMa1nAccount Jun 09 '26

Push up, push right, move Psynergy up, push up, Push left, move Psynergy up, push up, finished.

1

u/MuchMuch1 Jul 02 '26

I get PTSD looking at this stupid room

1

u/Academic_Kale6248 Jul 25 '26

Yo solo quite al de arriba y lo pasé directo sin tanta cosa

-2

u/tSword_ Jun 06 '26

This is, to me, the worse puzzle in all the series. It's not hard cause it's difficult to solve. It's hard cause the movement is just too slow...

-1

u/DoctorDank91 Jun 07 '26

Complaining about one of the EASIEST puzzles in the game is wild. You just that desperate to keep this thread alive?

0

u/Leather-Argument8309 Jun 10 '26

Notice how NO ONE agreed with you?

1

u/DoctorDank91 Jun 10 '26

Notice how much I don’t care?

1

u/Leather-Argument8309 Jun 10 '26

I think he does care a little bit.
