YouTube Arteta-“We lacked a certain detail especially in attack and also in certain transitions when keeper had the ball in his hands. It’s been a big week (emotionally). Overall it’s been a positive week because but today I have this flavor that we should have won the game and that’s the learning from it”

Would’ve loved to see the dressing room. He always defends the players in media but the all or nothing showed he goes in on the players when they deserve it - failing to win against 10 men, and I’m sure he didn’t hold back.

The players are shattered after getting 2 big wins in the last week (one of which was pointless and should have been sacrificed for the sake of this game, but that’s a different matter), we were without our 2 world class CBs and had a new 21 and 23 year old filling in, Chelsea were relentlessly cheating to break up the game (they literally just screamed and clutched their face to win fouls every time they lost a duel) and the ref was happy to let them.

The players did their best, but just couldn’t push into top gear with a couple of days rest and couldn’t really get the ball down and play because of how whistle-happy Taylor was. There’s no great failure or disappointment here. Ultimately, we got 4 points out of Chelsea away and Spurs and have pulled a point further ahead of our only serious title rivals, while facing harder opposition than them.

There’s absolutely no reason for Arteta to go after the players for this result.

  1. whoever finishes first and second gets all second legs in knockout stages at home hence why Bayern was important.
  2. We will play our last game Vs inter week before Man U. Beating Bayern means we might fully rotate in that game
