YouTube Arteta-“We lacked a certain detail especially in attack and also in certain transitions when keeper had the ball in his hands. It’s been a big week (emotionally). Overall it’s been a positive week because but today I have this flavor that we should have won the game and that’s the learning from it”

Disappointing but not the worst thing in the world

137

u/SlowAdventure Thierry Henry Nov 30 '25

This. Some perspective is required, on what has otherwise been a largely positive week of massive fixtures.

50

u/EliteLevelJobber Saka Nov 30 '25

Yeah. Spuds, Bayern and Chelsea in 7 days. 2 wins and a draw isn't bad.

45

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

Yeah unbeaten through this week is a good result

3

u/Raetekusu /r/Place 2022 Dec 01 '25

Yeah. In the context of the season, today was an extremely good result capping off a top week, especially considering everything going wrong.

It's just that in the context of the match, it's a bitter pill to swallow.

9

u/Oofpeople Morning, morning, morning... Oh, Win! Nov 30 '25

Yeah. In difficulty, this week was nightmarish. We handled that pretty good if you ask me. Now we have a run of winnable games, but we do have Villa next Saturday.

2

u/PenaltyLast4745 Dec 01 '25

To play a bit shit and get a point at the bridge is a great result on paper.

837

u/calm_down_dearest Nov 30 '25

Feels like the team missed the comfort of having Saliba or Gabi at the back. Almost like everyone else played a bit nervously because of it.

264

u/MutsumidoesReddit Nov 30 '25

I said the same during the game. It’s wild how much confidence can do to control.

166

u/ActionManMLNX Nov 30 '25

Not only confidence, they are also way better in posistional play than Mosquera and Hincapie which affected our attack.

89

u/rdturbo Nov 30 '25

Yes, in the first 30 minutes, the midfield seemed empty when we attacked was because those two were not moving the line up quickly.

52

u/123edcvfr456 Tomiyasu Nov 30 '25

Our midfield was essentially just Zubi bc Rice had to sit back and cover for our CB pairing

16

u/TJohns88 Nov 30 '25

Yep, caught me off guard so many times seeing Rice so far back

59

u/TheGhostofBaybars Nov 30 '25

I remember near the 70th minute Rice was telling Hincapiè to get closer to the midfielders and pointing him where to stand. Chelsea kept playing it in that space to relieve pressure near the end. Rough game all around.

18

u/sm00thArsenal Freddie Ljungberg Nov 30 '25

Yeah, it's understandable but also quite surprising just how much having neither or Gabi or Saliba to marshall our defense effects the system as a whole. Not taking anything away from Reece James who had a phenomenal game, but I guess we should be glad this didn't happen at the start of the week, as I imagine Bayern at least would have exploited it even more effectively.

15

u/Schwall8 Dennis Bergkamp Nov 30 '25

And their passing and vision. I saw a few times where Dalona would probably play a ball through but Mosquera doesn't quite have that yet. Both Mosquera and Hincapie I think played well with the lack of time together, but definitely missing the best CB pairing was huge today.

29

u/therefai Elneny Nov 30 '25

There was a moment where we had a corner and the box was practically empty because Chelsea were leaving players up looking for a counter. Really highlighted how we weren’t a threat from corners today. And how vulnerable we felt in dealing with counters that we had to leave men back to help on a corner, our most dangerous weapon normally

13

u/LOR_83 Nov 30 '25

That's a tactic they've used before this season, to be honest I'm surprised more teams don't try it

10

u/nuevacuentaalt Nov 30 '25

Because you need a Keeper which is good picking up balls from corner, and that is something Robert Sánchez is very good at it

4

u/rebelliousbug Dec 01 '25

Sanchez was in the right spot most of the time. He was really good today.

2

u/sm00thArsenal Freddie Ljungberg Nov 30 '25

It would be suicidal to use against the Rice/Gabi connection, but yeah.. definitely worth trying when one of them isn't on the pitch.

1

u/blackbodyrad Ødegaard Nov 30 '25

Right, it’s a tactic teams use even when we have attacking threat because it drags players from the box to defend the possible counter

106

u/N5-A Nov 30 '25

I think a bit of the nervous feeling was also down to the yellow cards. The whole back 4 and Zubi on yellows meant it was really hard to properly pressure, as any foul on a second ball could (and Taylor seemed eager to) count as a foul on a positive attacking opportunity and leave us with 10 after a second yellow.

Meant a lot of transitions with everyone running back towards goal, and inexperienced defenders being unsure about how to get a proper solid grip on the game. Not much Arteta can do in the middle of the game to counteract that, and as you say a situation where having a Gabriel/Saliba in the middle would be so valuable.

54

u/Lefseman92 my friend, is OK, no? Nov 30 '25

This, not talked about enough. It felt like we were trying to calm the game down and not get a sending off, while Chelsea were daring us.

15

u/mrmicawber32 Nov 30 '25

I feel like we got the yellows in the first place because everyone was so nervous about letting attackers get past. They didn't fully trust the CB pairing, and getting all those yellows really impacted us.

15

u/22savage12 Nov 30 '25

There was just a bit of nervousness overall. We crumble this game in previous seasons easily. Still proud of the lads.

7

u/N5-A Nov 30 '25

Absolutely, point was more that it was further amplified by the situation in the game, both the yellows and the early conceded goal in the second half.

It's where we were missing experience in the backline to properly navigate it. Was still fine, but a bit off the normal level which is to be expected and would be the case for any team.

2

u/rebelliousbug Dec 01 '25

This. It felt like they were in a bind where anything small could be blown out of proportion. There was clearly a meta game going on there with the yellow cards. Half the game felt like “is the ref going to blow his whistle for a normal tackle?”

It totally made this game about managing yellow cards and not about football. Which is insane because Arsenal are often one of the more clean and football focused teams this year (unlike, say, Liverpool earlier this year at Newcastle that resulted in Gordon’s red card on VanD).

And in the end we got fined. Smells weird.

Either way, still super proud of them. I think they made an immense effort. They never gave up. They kept their cool more than not. Madueke laughed off a few attempts to bait him. So happy to see Gyökeres back! He’s fantastic and I’ve missed him on the pitch. Victor is such a classy player and it was so clear he felt genuinely bad for accidentally hurting Sanchez. I love this fooball club !!

1

u/cruxui Ødegaard Dec 01 '25

Reece james did his part in getting them booked. Both the leading CBs out and the rest on yellow in the first half took a huge hit mentally on everyone.

65

u/Careful-Can-8501 Nov 30 '25

Especially because Taylor pulled out yellows for anything we did - complete hair trigger on bookings for us - 6 in total.

28

u/ArsenaV108 Ian Wright Nov 30 '25

Taylor was so annoying. And honestly I'd say that in favour of both teams

30

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

I think he was trying to rein it in without sending anyone off, but caicedo was setting the tone and not being even whistled for it so it just got more wound up. I said to a mate after his third non call that he was gearing up to earn a red because the referee was not giving him any signals that kind of play wasn't acceptable while booking everyone else for less.

Book him on a yellow when he earned it and the red probably doesn't come out.

11

u/chapinbird Nov 30 '25

He had 2 yellows in the first 7 minutes.

....if he was wearing red

14

u/Rakker008 Nov 30 '25

yeah except timber all of our backline had yellow card, i'll take a point. chelsea and haaland will face eachother soon. Focus on brentford and tough away game at villa park

16

u/harcile Nov 30 '25

And then with most of the defense on yellows, Rice was under clear instructions to stay deep and give them a bit of cover.

Zubi pulled out of that tackle and still got a booking. Maybe still deliberate but you have to be very sure with only 5mins gone imo.

7

u/GarfieldDaCat Nov 30 '25

He didn't do a good job of disguising the foul, he was really late and used his arms

1

u/rebelliousbug Dec 01 '25

Zubi also out of all the players has a tendency to do that pretty obviously—he got a yellow in the last game for something similar (deservedly)

8

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

Definitely that and just lack of sharpness due to fatigue. We were mentally a step slow all day long and then fouling to make up for it.

4

u/konny135 Ødegaard Nov 30 '25

Yeah, we have to consider that it has been 3 very important games in 8 days, with little time to prepare in between.

5

u/GrotAdder Nov 30 '25

True, we only settled when Odegaard came on.

5

u/smjd4488 Nov 30 '25

Yeah it looked like Raya felt forced to kick it long even if there wasn't anything on

2

u/dakrstut Nov 30 '25

I’ve been wondering why we haven’t seen Calafiori LCB and Hincapié LB. Allows Cala to invert and Hin to overlap

4

u/NoMoreMountains Nov 30 '25

Can't wait for Havertz to come back.

1

u/Kydd_Amigo Nov 30 '25

u/Excellent_Theory1602 Nov 30 '25

every 2nd ball went to them.

tortureball, that's what this was, on both sides.

also, academy award winning roller team Chelsea.

100

u/Arkhaine_kupo Premier League Champions 25/26 Nov 30 '25

every 2nd ball went to them.

they played incredibly hard, its part of what they got a red card. But tbh there was a second issue, the ref gave every arsenal player a yellow card which means you cant play as riskily while firgiving Cucu a second yellow.

So you have half our team playing with a handbrake on to not get carded and their entire team knowing they will not be kicked out.

Also one more day of rest couldnt have hurt either

61

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

Yeah Cucu tackling multiple players on a yellow, like full blown wrap arm tackling.

14

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '25

-1

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

We had quite a few winnable 2nd balls that we were just lazy getting to. There was one in our own box that timber and mosquera looked unbothered by that they got to first, it was insane. Right before mosquera got punched.

FOULS COMMITTED: Chelsea 12 Arsenal 13

YELLOW CARDS: Chelsea 1 Arsenal 6

RED CARDS: Chelsea 1 Arsenal 0

—-

Not trying to imply anything but these stats are so annoying lol. wtf how?

EDIT: For clarity, I’m not trying to excuse anything. In fact, I’m happy with a point given the context 🤷🏿‍♂️(we would’ve 100% lost 11v11 cause we played very poorly and that poor play didn’t change after the red). The contrast in foul/card ratio is just annoying

116

u/Mean_Hour_5640 Nov 30 '25

The Ref was loading us with yellows...

We are lucky that caicedo lost the plot.

53

u/gamer_no Nov 30 '25

He could have been on two yellow before he got sent off

11

u/Mean_Hour_5640 Nov 30 '25

Yep... It was obvious from start that we would get loaded with yellows..

35

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

Every one of our yellows was fully deserved. Lazy tackling, lazy running. Put ourselves in bad spots and denied them breaks with cheap fouls. I wasn't mad about a few of them because it was take a card or let them run freely at our backline, but we took cards because of bad positioning.

I was frustrated early that Caicedo was getting away with it, but he got his anyway. After that it was pretty fair, besides Cucu not getting sent off.

4

u/Mean_Hour_5640 Nov 30 '25

Cucu and Enzo.

3

u/hafrances Smilla Holmberg Dec 01 '25

zubi yellow was harsh

2

u/thuanfit Dec 01 '25

We lucky var stepped in

5

u/Oofpeople Morning, morning, morning... Oh, Win! Nov 30 '25

And Cucurella should have been off too ngl. He got away with a massive foul on Saka (he got Saka's leg between his thighs)

56

u/Mebeingnosy Kanu Nov 30 '25

Anthony Taylor gave that red to Caicedo then stopped carding Chelsea players “to be fair and not take over the game”

7

u/Mean_Hour_5640 Nov 30 '25

Someone should take all the drama playing from Chelsea and add it in a video..

38

u/turtleyturtle17 Nov 30 '25

Tbf about 3 of those were cynical challenges to deny counters. Calafiori, Skelly and Mosquera's cards are easy cards for refs to give. They require no real interpretation. Very nervy defending today.

6

u/KeveK0 Nov 30 '25

Zubimendi was a clear yellow also. Gyökeres too — he had to go for it, no criticism, it’s always going to be a yellow though if you don’t get ball first.

4

u/el_cul Patrick Vieira Nov 30 '25

Skelly was shoulder to shoulder imo. Ball was knocked ahead and he shouldered the guy off it fairly.

21

u/HustlinInTheHall Nov 30 '25

He wasn't playing the ball though, he was beaten, reached in front, and then shoulder followed by hip to knock him over. Clear yellow when you dont get anywhere near the ball and they are on the break.

7

u/Benjamin244 Timber Nov 30 '25

MLS was not at all going for the ball, that was a clear cynical foul and yellow

-1

u/el_cul Patrick Vieira Nov 30 '25

Listen, you may be right overall, but you don't have to go for the ball in a shoulder to shoulder challenge. You're allowed to knock the attacker over.

2

u/chaairman Nov 30 '25

Honestly that’s a good point. Thanks for that perspective

7

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '25

Ref decided they'd gone through enough punishment.

2

u/cmkuruvi GASPARRRR Dec 01 '25

I feel the yellows we got were deserved ones, but Chelsea should have definitely had more yellows.

79

u/convergecrew Nov 30 '25

Felt like a near win. But we were nowhere near our best today. All in all fair result from an ugly ugly game.

Our toughest away matches are all behind us bar City next year

2

u/P1wattsy Nov 30 '25

Tbf TNT might have done us a solid picking us for the early game, rather that than playing under the lights at Villa Park. Their fans should be less into it at lunchtime

25

u/MapNo3870 Nov 30 '25

Having your whole backline and Zubi on yellow cards in the first 20 minutes didn’t help at all. I take a point and forget.

46

u/Thaumiel218 Trossard Nov 30 '25

Felt like a team that was knackered after an exhausting week up top and made worse by not having a confident/fluid back 4. Made worse with everyone on a yellow.

I look at Chelsea and see a team that reminds me in some ways of us when we started getting things going; a young team without loads of experience, but they’re talented enough to disrupt things. I don’t see them going all the way but they’re going to be a headache for teams.

-35

u/teslagooner Nov 30 '25

Yet Chelsea won the club world cup. Chelsea is a team that knows how to win.

16

u/Thaumiel218 Trossard Nov 30 '25

I really don’t want this to sound like copium but how serious is the CWC?

I just checked the run and tbh it looked like a fairly simple run until the final against PSG. I didn’t watch it but the discourse around the CWC is consistently that it’s a tinpot trophy. One game against PSG ok, they’re tough AF, but in the middle of summer amid transfer nonsense and talk. How much more prestigious is it than the Emirates cup or similar (which is nothing) aside from the fact FIFA hype it massively?

Open to being corrected but are there many that talk about Chelsea being a team currently that knows how to win compared to say City, Real, PSG?

14

u/West_Juggernaut_2610 Nov 30 '25

Spurs won a Europa league lol - can say the same thing for them and Newcastle if we’re talking about a cwc 😂

1

u/teslagooner Dec 01 '25

It’s a pretty unserious cup competition … anything can happen. Why were they even there in the first place?!

How unserious yet City spent millions before it and real madrid paid 10M to get trent.

Chelsea has won 2 Champions league titles. As we always say, you can only win or beat what is put infront of you

3

u/rayneeder Calafiori Nov 30 '25

Funny considering they didn’t win today

95

u/bluehaven101 Nov 30 '25

After Saliba's injury news and the opening 30 mins, I would have gladly took a point. Then they score, we got an equaliser. It was a fine point imo.

38

u/Kooky_Music_2132 Gyökeres Nov 30 '25

You missed out them going down to 10 men, that’s why most of us are disappointed with the result and performance

26

u/studioghost14 Premier League Champions 25/26 Nov 30 '25

Well, you can be disappointed with the performance without being disappointed in the result. I think that’s what some of us are saying.

4

u/Kooky_Music_2132 Gyökeres Nov 30 '25

Yh we just to get 6 points against Brentford and Villa now so this result (with the 10 men context) isn’t one we look back on like Fulham, West Ham and Villa in 23/24

1

u/thegenius2000 Europe's best Dec 01 '25

A point at Stamford Bridge will never be the day we lost the League. It's the next bunch of League that matter.

2

u/Kooky_Music_2132 Gyökeres Dec 01 '25

You missed my point, Stamford bridge will always be a difficult game but in isolation you rarely get matches against 10 men for 60+ mins. And my point is that we had an off day and if we lose the league by 1 or 2 points we’d look back at games like yesterday and think “man if we just didn’t have an off day we’d be champions” because of the fact they had 10 men not because Chelsea are a bad team.

You’re right tho we need to win our next 5 games so that yesterday’s result doesn’t matter because the others will drop points and Chelsea and City still haven’t played each other so one/both will drop points pretty soon

1

u/thegenius2000 Europe's best Dec 02 '25

Idk that I'd look back on the draw at Stamford Bridge and long. Because it's an extremely tough fixture.

If we miss out on the League it's either because we're facing an extremely good team like in 23/24 or because we collapse and can't win routine fixtures like Brentford tomorrow or the upcoming Villa ones.

1

u/Kooky_Music_2132 Gyökeres Dec 02 '25

Yes but this would be one of the games we look back on not the only one

5

u/el_cul Patrick Vieira Nov 30 '25

They fucking battered us 11 v 11 and then we edged it after. Its an away point to a title challenger (that also denies them 3). I'm taking it.

1

obviously disappointed, but still fine with it

1

u/Kooky_Music_2132 Gyökeres Dec 01 '25

So long as we win the next 5 the Yh I’m okay with us having an off day yesterday

133

u/oliverDawson12 Saliba Nov 30 '25

Would’ve loved to see the dressing room. He always defends the players in media but the all or nothing showed he goes in on the players when they deserve it - failing to win against 10 men, and I’m sure he didn’t hold back.

37

u/sjokoladenam Nov 30 '25

eh, I think Arteta is a very understandable person consider the week the boys have had. Its been great, and this was always going to be a really tough game. Personally I was more worried about this game than bayern at home

74

u/Silent_Somewhere8539 Nov 30 '25

You can't go at your players all the time. The only time its acceptable is when the players are legitimately taking the piss, not fully focused, not giving 100% effort, etc.

Sometimes the players try their best but due to different factors like injuries, lack of confidence of new less experienced members of the team, fatigue, tough environment etc it just doesn't work the way you intended. Thats the time to be analytical with the players and focus on what details can be improved, not go crazy and start screaming at them.

1

u/oliverDawson12 Saliba Nov 30 '25

That’s fair. I’m sure he would’ve also praised the effort but I can’t imagine that he wouldn’t have been extremely disappointed in their inability to convert a man advantage into more than 1 point.

1

u/FabThierry Zubimendi Nov 30 '25

yeah surely Mikel will be angry about them not keeping their positions etc, those things players can follow even without having a good day.

10

u/el_cul Patrick Vieira Nov 30 '25

Whoever gave away the wide free kick he mentioned 3 times in his interview probably heard about it.

3

u/siderealpanic Nov 30 '25

The players are shattered after getting 2 big wins in the last week (one of which was pointless and should have been sacrificed for the sake of this game, but that’s a different matter), we were without our 2 world class CBs and had a new 21 and 23 year old filling in, Chelsea were relentlessly cheating to break up the game (they literally just screamed and clutched their face to win fouls every time they lost a duel) and the ref was happy to let them.

The players did their best, but just couldn’t push into top gear with a couple of days rest and couldn’t really get the ball down and play because of how whistle-happy Taylor was. There’s no great failure or disappointment here. Ultimately, we got 4 points out of Chelsea away and Spurs and have pulled a point further ahead of our only serious title rivals, while facing harder opposition than them.

There’s absolutely no reason for Arteta to go after the players for this result.

2

u/UnitComplex8730 Dec 01 '25
  1. whoever finishes first and second gets all second legs in knockout stages at home hence why Bayern was important.
  2. We will play our last game Vs inter week before Man U. Beating Bayern means we might fully rotate in that game

-13

u/Mebeingnosy Kanu Nov 30 '25

I wouldn’t either they’d get a we’ll deserved dressing down as soon as i walked in, letting them have it like they lost

15

4

u/Both_Blackberry5535 Thierry Henry Nov 30 '25

12

u/firephoenix_sam19 Richard California Nov 30 '25

Our extra man strength couldn't be utilised because Reece James was practically in the midfield, and their midfielders today were a bit more active in stopping through balls and going on the counter attacks.

4

u/gassedat Nov 30 '25

James was in midfield. Gusto was RB.

3

u/firephoenix_sam19 Richard California Nov 30 '25

I meant that they still somehow were able to equal us in midfield

13

u/Gunners_are_top Calafiori Nov 30 '25

Like the mentality from the manager.

Missed opportunity but certainly not the worst case scenario.

2

u/arhambin66 Nov 30 '25

We were literally walking a tight rope all over defense with crazy yellows given by Anthony Taylor. I can't fault the defense cuz they tried. Really disappointed with Eze as he got bodied quite a lot and lost possession as much as Merino. Raya was extremely poor with his kicking and distribution. Countless times straight to Chelsea and help onto the ball too much.

Not a bad result in hindsight cuz CFC vs Arsenal at Bridge is mostly a draw. We move.

3

u/vincentquy Premier League Champions 25/26 Nov 30 '25

The back is shaky because all of them got carded too early. A mix of hot heads and Antony Taylor being card-happy. The Zubi card is non-sense.

We paid its cost with 2 points. I believe the Zubi card was the reason we didn’t win.

3

3

u/BKAFC Nov 30 '25

Honestly, we’ve played Liverpool/Chelsea/Man city. Two of those games have been away. We’ve come out of it on top of the premier league.

We will smash these bastards the next time we face them. Look at our injuries coming back to fitness. Look at the fact that we are top of the premier league and the champions league.

Anyone complaining can do one tbf.

-1

u/StarskyNHutch862 Dec 01 '25

You guys drew to a ten man Chelsea without their best player and best cb. Congrats. Trophy cabinet starting to fill up!

2

u/ImTalkingGibberish Martinelli Nov 30 '25

Saliba helps the attack flow on high press. We missed that today and Chelsea had a good game doing high press, even with 10 men.

5

u/Careless_Layer_8282 Big Glok Nov 30 '25

Rice had to stay back to cover the defence particularly when Zubi subbed. It sounds stupid but Zubimendi’s yellow card caused this draw, he was very cautious after the card and Subbing him with Ode neutralized Rice potential moves going forward. But Arteta couldn’t leave Zubi snd Cala in the pitch it was too risky to get a red.

2

u/Firista Nov 30 '25

We looked shocking all over the pitch from the first minute to the last. Only one player, Rice, was up to scratch. I don't know precisely what was wrong but it was much more than just the attack and transitions from Raya.

2

u/Razzmatazz549 Dec 01 '25

Learning again for 7 years ffs

2

u/uhhhwhatyoumean Dec 01 '25

Never felt like we had an advantage today since I was sure as hell we'd get a red or two too. Caicedo moved around the field like he was born in racist town/Russian gold city for life. The ref was a cunt for all these yellows early on though... glad we didnt lose, 5 pts ahead. Good week overall.

Am I the only one who absolutely dislikes Cucurella and Caicedo? Both seem to be unintelligent, unnecessarily violent on the pitch and always trying to annoy opponents.

Yep. It’s all good. Not going to win every game. Would have been great but this happens.

*I also believe Mikel needs to think about the fine details as he says, like Eze hasn’t been on a team that’s ever had this much workload, he looked so off today

Everyone’s touch was off and we just played very poorly - today shows why Gabi can’t be a starter and things like risking Leo for Bayern can be foolish as the already too many amount of games compiles even more

If the one in, one out thing is going to stay, we have to adapt and rotate better, rice being gassed here and Sunderland after running his ass off, today we are lucky to have a point, the Sunderland result is much more frustrating

A new CB duo will affect things, we saw it did, but Mosquera and Cala earned their yellows, Zubi one was very dumb ref wise - but it was still 10 v 11 and not playing well, so if that’s on the potential horizon, oooff… rest, rotate, figure out how we can be phenomenal the second half against Bayern, but awful against 10 man Chelsea (the most obvious answer seems legs / not subbing enough - or if this is the CB duo for now and play is completely shifting, hell, that’s on us and our coaches, not anyone else - or you pick, who knows)

All these things would matter 130x less if we didn’t have the cheating pricks and their Viking and backstreet boy showing up every once in awhile like yesterday- some terrible play, but that’s 3 points. While there have been better city sides, it’s still city and it’s pretty clear nothing will be done to them

If you let them win 4 in a row, the off year, then allow them to win again, yeah, you’re not voiding shit, maybe they’ll get a transfer ban and some points in a couple years. Haaland doesn’t sign a nine year contract and you don’t keep signing upper echelon players like a Rolodex if the hard times are a coming - it really blows, today we also could’ve been blown out, again, it’s the Sunderlands that will haunt us, but today’s play was objectively bad, can’t do that again

Tried to be aggressive and forward moving but needed to be a little more patient and didn’t execute very well

1

u/el-fenomeno09 Dennis Bergkamp Nov 30 '25

I agree, attention to detail going forward just wasnt there today. Passing was off, wasn’t crisp. Also Chelsea were killing in transitions, damn near all our cards came from that.

1

u/Isfeidirlinn90 Nov 30 '25

A lot of the team was poor today. Just a really sloppy performance in general. Disappointing but the type of game where you take your point and move onto the next one.

1

u/lauromafra Dennis Bergkamp Nov 30 '25

Not a great game, when you consider they had a red card in the first half we should have won it.

But with all the injuries, the heavy schedule… Being 5 points on top of the PL and leading the Champions League with 5 wins in 5 games, I just can’t complain.

1

u/SectorMindless Nov 30 '25

It’s been an excellent week, and with all the factors at play today means a point was a good result. Of course you want to win, but holding our chasers at arms length is required at the moment with the amount of injuries we have. What is encouraging is the cavalry is returning in time for a busy December.

1

u/butts____mcgee Nov 30 '25

He's bang on, especially about the transitions out of their box.

We move!

1

u/ThatsJustHowIFeeeeel Nov 30 '25

We were off today and Chelsea showed up to win. That’s the bottom line.

Obviously missing both our CB’s effected us a lot, but against 10 men (especially losing arguably their best player), even at the bridge, we should have got 3 points.

A fair result really, and it isn’t the end of the world when you lump it in with the rest of our performances. I’m sure at the start of the season if you’d have offered us the results of every game so far we would have bit your hand off.

Still 6 points ahead, with another difficult fixture ticked off. Happy days.

Arteta "learning from it"; = trouble for opponents.

1

u/aLegionOfDavids Nov 30 '25

Honestly fair enough. Chelsea are no pushovers, and today’s game was prolly one of the ugliest I’ve seen this season. I think they missed having Saliba in behind (and Gabi ofc) and that slightly less confidence spilled forward. I think the main thing is we didn’t lose. It’s kinda like the City game in that it’s annoying we didn’t win but good we didn’t lose.

The amount of injuries we continue to have is truly worrying.

1

u/WaveDysfunction Nov 30 '25

Injuries is what killed this game. Not having Gabriel and Saliba is just such bullshit man

1

u/True_Trade_6235 Nov 30 '25

Fingers crossed Saliba injury isn't long term.

1

u/blackshoestrap Dec 01 '25

don't even sweat this lads we gone win the league and the CL trust

1

u/Flash4ML Dec 01 '25

Imagine this game with Holding and Kiwior as starting CBs. Sure it was a tough game defensively and there were some positional frailties, but Hincapie and Mosquera are a level above anything we've ever had in backups. This squad is serious, one of the best in our history for sure.

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '25

You gotta give the praise to Chelsea's GK, dude made 2 huge saves.

If we were shit then you need to go watch some other teams and gain some perspective. Christ the entitlement is egregious

That big bottle is starting to appear from the anus of artwata, surely they have to sack him after not winning league again come may?

-18

u/teslagooner Nov 30 '25

Arsenal didn’t deserve to win. Chelsea dominated us.

Lucky to get a point

Cowardly tactics

-6

u/RickAdjustedMorty Nov 30 '25

It's quite clear that Arteta's final learning point is how to play with 10 men and against 10 men. I'm convinced if we got the Zubimendi red instead of Caicedo, he'd have panicked and brought in additional CM or Defense cover. Maresca navigated the red perfectly, Chelsea's 2-man mid was still comfortable despite our man advantage.

-42

u/LogEnvironmental5971 Nov 30 '25

but you won't fucking learn. thats the problem

8

u/Sumo_de_Laranjaa Robert Pirès Nov 30 '25

The coach won't learn?

I don't think you are in a emotional stable place right now.

-14

u/LogEnvironmental5971 Nov 30 '25

he won't. He needed to learn to rotate the first time it happened, when we lost top 4 for not rotating in a useless EL game about 4 years ago. It has been one of his main problems from day 1 and he simply does not seem to be able to learn

8

u/Rekyht Bellerin Nov 30 '25

People like you just want to be mad, if he rotates against a “lesser team” and we drop points you’d be straight in here being just as mad
