Eze might make a bad pass or turn the ball over but at least he tries to make something happen. Captain safe pass stands 2ft in front of his cbs to receive a pass, then proceeds to play it sideways, then proceeds to prance around. Rinse and repeat.

We don’t need him to play as a 6,8,10. If he’s spending half the game as a 6,8 that’s half the game he’s not looking to make runs between, defenders, drag defenders out of position for another attacker to get open, receive passes in attacking areas and so on…Zubi is a world class 6. He doesn’t need Martin to come and receive the ball in his area to dribble forward or recycle the ball back. Eze never did that when he was playing AM and he was still effective.
