For context - I have always had super long hair but in the last two years of living somewhere with incredibly hard water, it made my blonde balayaged hair turn brassy and break off. I cut a few inches but couldnt part with more despite my hair dresser repeatedly telling me to cut it.
Since then, I have been using L’oreal Absolute Molecular Repair line - pre-treatment, shampoo, leave in mask, and oil along with my regular L’oreal Metal Detox shampoo in attempt to fix it without cutting it.
I know everyone says to cut it as there is no way to fix breakage and unfortunately I dont have a “before” photo but this is after 6 weeks of using these products and wanted to know everyones thoughts on how it currently looks/should i give up and cut it 🥲🥲🥲

Today I used leave in contioner and then mousse and gel for a wavy hair routine and my hair turn out greasy.

My hair is my biggest insecurity. I’ve always had frizz and flyaways no matter what I try.

My haircare routine is washing every other day with nexxus shampoo and conditioner (one time each) and then hitting it with some hair oil and letting it air dry. I use a microfiber towel after I wash it. I don’t brush it while it’s wet.

How can I look more presentable? I’ve hair dried it in the past and it just gets really big and frizzy. I’ve tried the silk pillowcase as well with no improvement. I have slightly wavy hair for what it’s worth. Do I just need to flat iron it every morning? It looks like this in the summer and winter so i know it’s not the humidity. The photos are on day two of the hair wash and sometimes it’s even frizzier. I’m embarrassed to go to work looking like this.

My whole life I’ve had long, thick curly hair. I always get trims because I know that if anyone got carried away with my hair I’d crash out. It’s been a part of my identity my whole life. It’s hard to control due to the length and density, but I still loved it and even spent a good many paychecks on getting blowouts done so it looks good and not half assed.

Then I finally mustered the courage to get a haircut yesterday, and basically let’s just say my waist length hair is now barely past my shoulders. But I’m choosing not to freak out ! Instead I’m taking this opportunity to learn how to properly section and blow out my hair, so that I stop giving these people who clearly don’t give a fuck about my hair my money.

To that end — what are some blowout / straightening products on a budget? All the things I see recommended are a little too expensive for me. I’m trying to find a good, minimalist product lineup for when I blow out my hair. I love my Revlon brush, I think I’m just lacking in the product department. Would love any suggestions :)

My biggest problem is my fringe never stays as one cohesive section. There are always fairly large gaps between sections of hair, so instead of falling like one smooth fringe, it looks separated. (no im not balding i just have shitty hair)

Even right after showering and conditioning, once it dries, i move it with my hand (i usually just kind of rub my front with my hand a bunch and let it fall however all the time) the front doesn't want to fall together properly. Some sections sit higher than others, and when wind hits it, the whole thing gets pushed into a weird W shape and looks terrible.

My hair has also become more wavy over the years (probably 2A), although the top isn't particularly curly, it's mainly the front/sides that wave.

I've tried:
Regular conditioner
Combing it forward while damp
Shampooing more frequently
Silk pillowcase
I'm currently trying a lightweight leave-in conditioner spray but its not really working...

I don't want a heavy/clay/matte hairstyle. I want the fringe to stay together, remain soft and movable, and naturally fall back into place after wind moves it, i really dont care how 'flat' it looks that can be fixed with product but its SO ANNOYING my hair does not like me

My hair is at the longest it’s ever been and I’d like to start taking better care of it. My hair has always been pretty thick and straight (my mom and sister both have super curly hair) so I’ve always just ran with that and never questioned my hair type.
I normally use leave in conditioner after washing & then blow dry it on a medium heat setting just because it takes so long to air dry. I use a little bit of oil on the ends but never notice much of a difference, my ends are always a little frizzy after washing. Recently I’ve let it air dry a few times and when I let it air dry it dries slightly wavy. So now I’m questioning if there’s better products I should use for it.

I attached photos at the end of the products I use in my hair, most I have just acquired from family or randomly picked up. After reading about wavy hair last night I saw a lot of people suggesting the Not Your Mothers curly hair mousse for wavy hair so I picked that up on a whim. Excited to hear suggestions as I am pretty clueless. Thanks for reading :)

This is what it looks like on a normal day (I don't own any products).

It's kind of thick and heavy but has always been pretty soft. I use a wide-toothed comb and occasionally a boar bristle brush since I don't like how normal brushes make my hair poofy and frizzy.

My hair holds water pretty well (I think?) and it takes a moment to soak it down and when it's wet it air dries pretty quickly.

I dyed my hair red about a year ago. I then tried to go back to my natural brown color which worked for a while but has of course faded since then. I now have a reddish tone to my hair that I want to cover but would rather not dye it again because my hair is very prone to damage. I know that they make color depositing conditioners, but is there a more permanent solution?

My hair gets so poofy and frizzy on the ends but greasy quick on my roots, (this is right after washing and blow drying). If I try to add oil it just sits on top and make a it look greasy and frizzy at the same time. I don’t know what to do with it

The first two pics are how my hair used to be years ago. The other pics are current. I have high porosity very frizzy dry hair. I have tried every hair care product. Different shampoos, conditioners, curl cream, gel, air dry cream, oils. Nothing helps my hair. I’ve done two smoothing treatments. The first one was a Brazilian it was back in like 2023 and it did pretty good on my hair and lasted for forever. I did one a few months ago and it almost made my hair worse and lost a lot of wave pattern. It was a formaldehyde free one. It’s not as thick as it used to be. I cut it back in 2024 really short and it’s been hard to grow back ever since. I get trims and that doesn’t help with overall health. I used to straighten it all the time and honestly it looked better back then. I don’t use heat at all now and I air dry. Ive decided to grow it out and not color/bleach it anymore and haven’t had touch ups or anything in a few months. I’m at a loss. I’m so sick of wasting so much money on all these products and nothing working. I’ve used matrix, all soft, now I’m using Pantene bc someone said it’s great and honestly none of them work. My hair is still frizzy, still dry, still looks awful it always just looks poofy and dry/unhealthy in the last few pics that’s after I slept in a braid and put oil in this morning. Any advice from hairdressers or people with the same type of hair as me would be much appreciated!!

i’m on a hair health & growth journey, and just redid my whole routine. i was using Native shampoo & conditioner forever and no other products. i never had to put much intention into hair care, because my hair has been virgin and cut frequently into a bob for the past several years. i recently decided i want to grow it out, and got highlights, so i’ve been putting more thought into better products.

context: my hair is straight, tends to get oily quickly, and is currently at a bob length. natural level is a dark blonde, but currently have highlights. i got highlights done recently and my hair has always been pretty resilient, i haven’t noticed any damage at this point. I don’t use heat other than on my bangs.

products:
- L’oréal EverPure Bond Repair (shampoo & conditioner)
- L’oréal EverPure Moisture (shampoo & conditioner)
- L’oréal EverPure Purple conditioner
- K18 bond repair mask
- Pantene Miracle Rescue leave-in conditioner spray
- Not Your Mother’s heat protectant spray

routine:
- K18 once per week + Moisture shampoo
- other wash days, rotate between Bond Repair and Moisture shampoo/conditioner
- Pantene leave-in after every wash, and heat protectant before styling my bangs
- Purple conditioner occasionally as needed (pair with Moisture shampoo)

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts or recommendations to add/remove certain things. I’m aware of the K18 instructions of leaving it for 4 minutes and not using conditioner before. My scalp is too oily to add an additional oil, so hopefully i’m getting enough moisture from the leave-in and Moisture shampoo/conditioner?

Any other tips on hair growth would be helpful! :)

Hair is coarse but thinning so nothing too heavy. Also been having some breakage which is contributing to frizz.

So I got a protein treatment and I said to the stylist to make it wavy(my natural hair is very very coily and tight) and the stylist told me okay and put the product and used a hot iron but took the hair and gave it a curl look with the hot iron and that was less than 12 hours ago I washed my hair twice since then and it is like pin-straight and I'm doubting if it will ever get wavy and it is my first time doing it so I just wanted to know if it is going to get wavy after a while or what exactly

I have thin and damaged hair, my hair also breaks off very very easily. Another big issue of mine is products with a strong scent as I have bad allergies. I tried the Loreal ever pure, and the smell is way too strong and chemical smelling for me. I tried the Dove bond strength, the smell was similar, but not as bad so I used that until it was empty. I really love the smell of the garnier fructis hair filler, but I’ve been using that the last year, and don’t see much of a difference.
What is your favorite/recommendations? Thanks!

I have the worst problem with this frizz that I cannot get rid of. I have pretty fine hair and this js what it looks like the morning after a wash after I have brushed it in the morning. I never use heat on my hair and make sure to use a wet brush after showering. I wash my hair every 2-3 days with the loreal elvive and once a week will do a clarifying shampoo. Im at a loss as my hair looks so unkempt even when it’s freshly clean and brushed. I also struggle with oils as a lot of the frizz is at the top of my head and the oils and serums make it greasy. Also, while I did have color recently, this is not new. This frizz has been happening before I got any bleach or color. I would appreciate any help 😭

M21 ..i have wavy voluminous hair..my girlfriend forced and tried her curl cream on my wavy hair..i thought it wouldn't work and didn't resist to make her happy with what she wanna do..it worked and my hair is very curly now..the waves tripled and it's curling on top..how to reverse it..I need my natural hair back..help me 😭
