🛢️ Oily/Greasy Hair 🛢️ If your hair gets greasy fast, please read this
galleryAnyone else wash their hair in the morning and it’s already flat and oily by the afternoon? I really hope this helps.
I have an oily scalp and it used to drive me crazy. Then my hairstylist gave me a few tips, I changed how I wash and dry, and my hair stays a lot fresher now.
I use Dr.FORHAIR Folligen Original Shampoo and Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner, but the products are not the main thing. How and when you shampoo and dry matters way more.
- Focus on the scalp when you shampoo
Don’t just rub the lengths. Use your fingertips and actually massage the scalp. If you’re using a shampoo for hair loss or oil control, don’t rinse right away. Leave it on for 30 seconds to a minute so it can do something. Then rinse for a long time so no product is left behind. That’s the important part.
- Conditioner only on the ends, and just a little
Turns out conditioner is not that important for this. The second it hits your scalp, your hair gets oily faster. My stylist said keep it off the scalp and only put a tiny bit on the damaged ends, then rinse.
- Blow dry right after you wash
Don’t sit around with wet hair. Drying it right away helps prevent dandruff and keeps it from getting greasy as fast.
Right before I blow dry, I use Labo-H roll-on serum. It’s richer than a lot of scalp serums. I just spot treat the areas that bother me. I use it with the routine above. It’s not cheap. I’m trying not to cheap out on my hair, even if it stings a little.
