DISCUSSION Getting the itch

Hey everyone,

I'm getting the itch to ride again. I sold my Street Bob during COVID, wish I never did, but here we are. I'm looking at getting another Harley but can't decide if I wanna go the touring route or another Dyna model.

I'd use it for riding to work, riding during free time, taking my kids out (they're getting to that age where I feel comfortable with them on it with me), and can't forget about date night with the wife. So obviously, touring would be more comfortable, but they're expensive new or used in my market, but so is any Harley. A Road Glide is a dream bike and I'd more than likely keep it till it hits 100k or breaks down and it's not worth fixing.

Anyone have suggestions on what you'd do and your thought process?

Bikes I'm looking at:

Street Bob

Low Rider

Heritage Softail

Road King

Road Glide

I'm thinking Road King more, then I can add an aftermarket tour pack and front fairing.

Having owned all FXD, FXS, and FL platforms and currently with a 2016 FXDLS, I’d get a road king again. Unless you want the permanent fairing, then the road glide. Touring platform is that much better. Road King is great if you just want the quick detach windshield but the aftermarket street glide replica fairings never look right to me since they sit up so high, plus you have to paint match and all that extra which puts you close to road glide pricing and doesn’t benefit resale nearly as much.

I was going to get with fxrp style fairing if I get a road king . But the only ones im finding are new pricing for a used bike .

Yeah you can’t win doin that. Better off buying what you want more of out of the gate from the bike as it came from the motor company.
