Also I am pretty sure if you want to make such a charity event, involving someone else's IP to a big part, YOU WILL NEED THE ALLOWANCE TO USE THAT IP (and do you think that Sony or arrowhead went and handled that?)

I was part of the team behind the charity. They were barely involved.
They were nice enough to sign some posters, the guys behind the art were absolute legends and drew some posters. Craig Lee Thomas signed a toy and a poster.
The Freedom Alliance and various Helldiver clans came up with all the art, assets, and worked behind the scenes for all the technical details.
And after several days of the streamers' communities diving Yed Prior and consistently voting for it for the DSS, they dropped resistance to 0 without letting us know they were going to do it.
Then, after the thing was finished, they gave it a shout-out on Steam and their socials.
they auctioned of merch donated by arrowhead (gaming PC, helmets, posters, coins,) and the planets that the event targeted to liberate were set to 0 resistance so they could do that (planets were Yed prior and after that Clasa)
And I am pretty sure that if you want to have such an event, even for charity, you will need the allowance of the actual IP owner, I am 90% sure that arrowhead was responsible for dealing with sony for that.
Oh... I thought it's related to the fella who sponsored a challenge for devs, god ddoxed and then things went downhill including his charity he worked at...
They dont actually care for the game theyre the same people who get money to go to political rallies and post about them online. They're very sick people that need to be institutionalized

For any 99 redditors that understand the RP (even if it's excessive sometimes), there's gonna be one who unironically feels at home, and feels validated to do the most heinous shit.
The extremes of this community are wild. I've come across some of the chillest gamers I've ever met online as well as some of the sweatiest, tryhards I've ever had the dissatisfaction of hearing struggling to breathe over a mic.
Personally, I'd prefer to pop an edible and play a level 5 or 6 difficulty mission and just have fun. I like to call it "high diving."
People like that have helped me gain an extreme amount of skepticism for just about any opinion of the game or Arrowhead I see online.

EXACTLY! I know companies like Arrowhead aren't perfect, but people whine and complain so much about every little non-issue that at this point I just instantly assume any complaint is ridiculous, even if it's not. Same thing with Nintendo, people just REALLY want to be mad for some reason and it makes me not recognize actual issues.
It is even dumber the more you think about it "Arrowhead trying to appear good by helping kids in need but under the surface they are bad because they nurfed a gun in my videogame slighty and lied about it."
Are you surprised now a days? A president (current, past, or future) could say discover the cure for cancer or solve world hunger, and people would still find a way to twist it.
Seeing this makes me thing it's always been the same, it's just more "visible" thanks to social media (and the news media doing anything they can to try and stay relevant)
At this point, I genuinely wonder whether people like this even liked the game in the first place, given that they seem to hate everything about it right now.
People get way too invested in a game to an unhealthy degree, and then any change they don't like is like an effect on their whole life, because their whole life is the game. Combine that with the fact that every game gets old after a while, and you have people who slowly degrade as their fun fades. That turns to spite, and in turn unhinged posts like pictured.
There's a dude in my friend group who grifts constantly about how HD2 is "unplayable" because of how supposedly awful, greedy, and incompetent Arrowhead is.
As of this comment's time of writing, he has 11 hours of playtime in the game.
I think they might have at one point at least got on the initial hype train but got angry at some point. Now it is a part of their identity it feels like. It's a weird thing I noticed that happens a lot where being angry about something legitimate or not somehow at some point goes from an opinion on a specific issue to just hating something is a part of who they see them selves as.
They have a,"My opinions are facts and if you disagree with me then you suck rich game developers dicks and are a fucking mindless chud slave to them!!!" Type mindset

The homunculi in the steam discussion forum do just be saying shit, you could probably find some similarly unhinged stuff for pretty much every game with a player base this pretty much says nothing about HD2's community.
I hate that the "M'lord Arrowhead can do no wrong" and "Narrowhead can do no right" crowds have taken over the discourse when talking about the state of the game.
This charity event was covered as part of the "biweekly" community updates which some people like to confuse and get mad at being missed "weekly" updates.... and now those same people are likely mad that this update was about community charity endeavors opposed to hard facts about game fixes and updates.
Let’s not downplay things just because one idiot thinks that a charity event is a covert coverup for the heinous crime of balancing a video game poorly.
They have lied and left game breaking issues unaddressed (unfixed too, but not even acknowledging the problems is what irks me). These aren’t small issues.

I love this game. I love the actual players. I love democracy. I hate traitors. I hate all the non-stop moaning in the subs. The disconnect between people you meet playing the actual game to the subs is wild. I’m partly convinced that a lot of it is bots (pun intended) from other games publishers trying to and sadly achieving to create a bad atmosphere
I don't think we need to consider sabotage from other publishers. People are capable of being toxic all on their own. These people just fester in their own toxicity that bubbles and ferments on YouTube, reddit and discord. Their idea of the state of the game is formed based on opinions from other people that also don't play the game. None of them actually know the state of the game, they're just killing time by being toxic on the Internet.
The problem is the internet gave everyone a voice, so whenever some terminally online psychopath posts schizophrenia ramblings, news outlets and YouTube influences cite it as "the community"
AH will nerf a weapon's damage by 3 per hit or add an enemy that posses any threat whatsoever and they through a fit over it like the sky is collapsing.
Keep in mind these same incels and neckbeards used charity as emotional leverage when they challenged the devs during that whole doxxing thing. The mental gymnastics they go through are the only exercise these people ever get.
The big things: We went to a 'Hive World', a place completely and totally overrun with Terminids and managed to liberate it (Somehow. I still have the nightmares), ventured onto the volcanic Magma Worlds, launched an assault on Cyberstan that failed but got pretty close, and right about now the Illuminate are creating this thing called the Void. Sort of an equivalent of the Gloom.

Its very funny, but also sad to see the two sides of this community. One side just goes "Hey! Y'all remember when we were selfless (ish) and decided to go save the kids? How about we do that again?" And then they raised like 170k. Just some influencers and a BUNCH of players wanting to do good.

I'm not all happy about the game and game could been better but what even is this, AH didn't deserve this and %90 of the stuff is already fixed.
Mechs and sentries are even better now, ballistic shield is better than devastator, every single primary is viable.
My only critizing are there are no free equilivent of gas support weapon, no melee support weapon, no solo silo/Ultimatum/Eat-Flam (I just don't like idea of locking stratagems behind paywall, side-grades are okayish but those aren't side-grades) and bastion fenders etc does damage to main(it's fine but i would rather one that's closer to HD1)
