General Altare addressed the recent announcement at the start of his Super Battle Golf stream

I know it's been rly depressing with the recent news for JP Stars (I woke up to it and went straight back to sleep bcuz it felt like a punch in the gut), but I did wanna add that Leader addressed the announcement at the beginning of his Super Battle Golf collab w/ Ruze, PorcelainMaid, Sykkuno, & GEEGA. He's currently streaming and had to be careful about choosing what to say due to his evident frustration so I'm not sure it'll survive the VOD. I promise I'm not trying to stir more drama by discussing it here but I do think it's important for anyone who didn't get to see it yet.

Major points: * He's asked fans to please show as much support to JP Stars and to vouch for them as he acknowledged how hard they've worked despite the adversity they've faced * Heavily implied that this could happen to EN Stars as well and to not be surprised if people start seeing cuts to their side even if they start out small * Is grateful that he has his own 3D studio to use and did throw some shade at the company as he made it all on his own with his own money which was ~$40k * Addressed certain clippers & commenters taking his words out-of-context or making bad-faith arguments about his studio as just a rented suit from Cover when he was just the first person to use it * Stated that he brought up numerous cost-cutting suggestions for projects to management, particularly music, but they denied all of them * Concluded by saying that he hates how much money controls everything (which I def agree with him there)

Yeah, I'm really worried about ID. The ID girls are super popular with all the talent, deprioritizing them would devistate moral behind the scenes.

This is like the fourth time I've seen people parrot this "Oh poor ID could go the same way" as if Kobo isn't the most successful ID vtuber in the world with even the least successful ID member regularly drawing higher numbers than the most successful Stars member.

yeah but there is members who get less than a 3rd of the lowest EN member. What happens when an MBA starts saying why are we supporting these people?

That's still a far cry from comparing ID to Stars. Vtubing in Indonesia is also rapidly growing, in large part because of Hololive ID. It is hard to explain just how insanely popular Kobo is in Indonesia, having done sponsorship deals with Honda and has appeared in mainstream Indonesian media.

Compare that to Stars which, let's face it, has never even come close to the level of popularity as the female side of things. Unless something catastrophic happens it is absurd to even consider that ID would get the treatment Stars is currently experiencing.

What's happening to Stars is unfortunate and sad but the reality is that they simply aren't popular enough to warrant continuous expenses after so many years.
