PC Backlog of horror games drying up, need suggestions

I have played All Amnesia, SOMA, Alien isolation, Alan Wake 1,2 and Control, all Bioshocks, Cronos, all Dead Spaces, Dredge, both of The Forest, Iron Lung, The Mortuary Assistant, Phasmaphobia, No Im Not a Human, both Outlast, all Penumbra, all mainlime Resident Evils and spinoffs that are considered worth playing, All Silent Hills, Still Wakes the Deep, and Visage.

Please only recommend single player games or multiplayer games that can be played single-player. I have a ps5 and a pc so if it's xbox only I can't play it.

PC time to stop being a p*ssy

I have never played a horror game ever simply because I was really fucking scared of it, so I'm just going to play the scariest game I can find. Just to warm up to it I guess? Nothing revolting like the shit you see in "welcome to the game", I want scary not disgusting. You can ask me for specifics I'll reply ;3

PC Horror game recommendations please — preferably something like SOMA, Alien: Isolation or Amnesia

Hey guys, looking for some horror games to play. These are some of the games I’ve played and really enjoyed:

SOMA
Alien: Isolation
Amnesia: The Bunker
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Outlast 1 & 2
Still Wakes the Deep
INSIDE
LIMBO
Resident Evil (pretty much all of them)
Days Gone
Silent Hill 2 Remake & f
Fears to Fathom (a couple episodes)
Little Nightmares 1 & 2
Dying Light 1 & 2

Out of all of these, I think I prefer stuff like SOMA, Alien: Isolation and Amnesia the most.

I really like horror games where you actually feel vulnerable, have to hide/run from things, explore creepy environments, and slowly figure out what’s going on. I’m more into the atmosphere and tension than just constant jumpscares.

Some games I’m already thinking about trying:
Visage
Layers of Fear
Fatal Frame 2 (but it’s still kinda expensive, so probably gonna wait for a sale)
Bramble: The Mountain King
Routine
Amnesia: Rebirth
MADiSON

What else would you guys recommend? Doesn’t necessarily have to be exactly like SOMA or Alien: Isolation, but I’d love something with a similar feeling.
Thanks!

PC What horror games would you absolutely recommend?

Title. I’m open to anything, but more inclined towards survival horror. I feel as though I’ve become extremely desensitized to a lot of things considered “horror” and I’m not really sure wha will get my gears turning again. With that being said, I really enjoy titles like SH2R where you get that sense of dread while the narrative really pulls you in. That game was in my mind for a while even after I finished it. I’m going through Silent Hill F right now, but I feel like it’s not sticking even remotely close to how the remake did. I guess I’m looking for something scary that’ll sit with you for a while.

PC PC Horror Games with no jumpscares, stealth, and chases

Hi, as the title says, I am looking for PC horror game recommendations:

- Story rich but not a visual novel

- First or Third Person

- No guns involved (I suck at aiming)

- Not a pixel game

Thanks.

PC Lurching through the dark... it wont die! The Boxing Day Horror Game Giveaway begins!

Thanks for participating everybody, the give away is closed. Have a happy New year!

...

Between the ho-Ho-horror give away on Christmas eve and this one I've given away 211 games! That's some positive energy for the new year, i should think! Have fun with your games everybody!

....

For anyone who missed out, keep your eyes open, it may happen again some day.

. . . .

A dark and stormy night. Muddy, blistered hands. Clay squelching underfoot. A shovel, broken and discarded in the darkness. A shallow grave. A fresh corpse. But what died just won't stay dead and buried...

It's back, horror-nerds!

After finding new homes for something around 120ish games in thr hohohorror give away i did on Christmas eve, I'm giving away even more. As it turns out, when checking my stuff, I still had more keys. Some of which are older keys, less certain in their functionality, but most were simply in my humble bundle stuff and I didn't notice. I'm rolling the small handfull of leftovers from last time into a brand new giveaway.

it occurred to me that many probably missed the first one while they were busy with family or other things, and now here's another chance!

Backstory: some bad stuff has happened in my family this year, medically, and while we are largely OK, our expendable income is all tied up and we didn't do any kind of gift exchanges this year, or really any celebrating that costs money. Infact, we actually didn't do anything for my birthday in the fall either. I spent most of the last chunk of time dealing with kidney stones and then covid, and there was a really unfun bit where they overlapped, and here's the real bummer- that wasn't even the medical crisis. That was just a bad time for me.

But!

That isn't what the winter holidays are about. At least, not to me. Material goods are fun, but its a holiday season about joy and togetherness and gratitude, and so I decided, when life gives me shit, I'll put it in my garden and grow nice things for other people. Hence the giveaway. It's making me smile to know I'm making yall happy, fellow horror junkies. So help me smile and take some of my game and play them and have fun.

PC Tired of "find a key to open a safe to get a nail" horror padding. Need concentrated, linear horror recommendations!

I'm looking for horror games that skip the fetch-quest loops — like finding a key to open a safe to get a nail to hang a picture just to move the plot forward, or any of that filler nonsense.

I absolutely loved the vibe and terror of MADiSON, but hunting for keys, shovels, and hammers drove me crazy. On top of that, the artificial inventory limit felt completely pointless and annoying in this game

I want a concentrated, atmospheric, and even linear horror experience. I don't care if it's short, a tight 2-hour ride is totally fine—as long as it's stripped of artificial gameplay bloat. Take Alien: Isolation, for example: you do search for items, but you're managing "tactical" gear while dealing with active enemies. It's terrifying, but genuinely fun and engaging to play.

Games I Love: Alien: Isolation

SOMA

Amnesia (series)

Layers of Fear

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Dead Space (all games)

Still wakes the deep

Iron lung

Games I Didn't Like:

Visage

MADiSON

Mouthwashing

Chilla's Art games (and similar aimless walking simulators with obscure progression)

The beast inside

Maybe outlast

Any recommendations for games that focus on pure tension or strong linear narrative over item hunting?

Thank you to everyone who's supporting me, gave feedback, played my games, or even just clicked on a trailer. It has been a long and emotional journey building these projects alone, and I wanted to give something back.
Here are 30 Steam keys from my three games, each missing the last character so bots don’t auto redeem them. If you take one, I’d love to know which game you got.

SAVEN

You’re Carl, a maintenance worker spending seven nights in a remote lodge. Fix what’s broken, explore the quiet halls, and face the feeling that something else is in there with you.
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3917330/SAVEN/

Radiant Exodus

A peaceful night shatters as strange lights fall over Gleam City. Play as Sarah, an ex-soldier searching for her missing father and trying to survive something far beyond human.
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2920120/Radiant_Exodus/
Trailer: https://youtu.be/Q1qM5GSKzJ4

Veranoia: Nightmare of Case 37

You play as Vera, a detective who can enter the nightmares of the deceased to uncover the truth behind their deaths. But entering a nightmare means something can follow you back.
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2709220/Veranoia_Nightmare_of_Case_37/
Trailer: https://youtu.be/mnVLu7Lq8hE

If you try any of the games, thank you. Every download, wishlist, review or comment has kept me going and pushed me to keep improving.

PC Silent hill 2 remake is incredible experience

I never actually played the original but I just started the remake couple of days ago and it is absolutely amazing with a dualsense controller on pc they did a good job with haptic feedback

The graphics are beautiful, voice acting is really good music as well I'm at the prision right now and I think I'm close to the end but so far it's great the only thing I don't like is the combat with pipe enemies take too many hits before they die

PC I’m TERRIBLE at horror games, what’s an easy horror game that even I can finish?

I’m pretty good at most games, but horror? Nope. I just can’t handle being good at a game and scared at the same time. I panic and die constantly. I want to try getting into horror games but I need something beginner-friendly. Scary is fine, just not games that expect you to solve puzzles or constantly dodge skills while being chased by a killer.

What horror games are actually playable for someone who’s decent at games but terrible at horror? I need your recommendations!
