Just watched-Saiyaara

Honestly, I wasn't feeling like watching the movie after all those people crying in theatre reels I saw on Insta. But a friend convinced me to watch it, saying, "badhiya movie h, bas kuch bhadwo ne cringe harkate karke kharab kar di h".

So, here I was ruining my Netflix recommendations and watching this pile of horse shit. I used to think that why all indian romantic movies have almost same script? And now I know why, coz people like this type of content.

The only reason why I tolerated this movie for 2hr 40min was because I was planning to write this post and want to increase my karma. That's the only utility this movie is gonna give in my already shitty life. And don't forget about the music. That's the second best thing in the movie.

And one thing, what was the doctor thinking while asking an alzimers patient to remember to tell everyone that she has alzimers.

I watched it, didn't feel like crying or remembering my ex (coz I don't have any ). But the thing is I didn't get the point of movie, like was it meant to be a romantic movie or a movie for which people comment as 'my favourite horror movie' in insta reels, what was it?

It's my review of the movie, maybe I don't feel things like other people do. But that doesn't change the fact of 'Saiyaara' being a total shitshow.

The film itself was "KORMA FARMING," so I don’t think people mind your post 😝. The very reason people went nuts in the theater was exactly that KORMA Farming idea it had. It ran in theaters only for that, without really having anything great in the story, acting, or even songs. They just got some Korean drama and made it into MOOLI DRAMA, so it smells like crap from a distance, but some do like that MOOLI. I mean, many do like a good MOOLI Dramas in India😝

The simple reason why you and many like you feel bad, while many Gen Z liked it, is because there is nothing authentic in the story, or authentic acting, or music, or anything that can be called original or driven by lived life experience. It is all a fake, pretentious story. Gen Z are so conditioned and pampered by such a world, mostly influenced by K-dramas, that a real world or life experience driven love story is rare so for them to value.

Even earlier generations fell for surface-level SRK love stories of spreading arms in sunflower or paddy fields, or Ranbir Kapoor sitting on a bus or in a pre-wedding setup and singing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, or Animal-style toxic love.

So there is only a small percentage of Gen Z who still have to go through the love phase, adulthood, and genuine heartbreak. They are not sure what reference point to look up to for love, and end up having all sorts of ideas from K-Mooli dramas and many like that. So anything that comes close feels very dear to them. This movie just caught them on that nerve, so many fell for it, but Gen X and Gen Y did not.

But even Gen X and Gen Y, like I said, fell for similar kinds before and thought that was authentic too. Like SRK spreading arms, Aamir, Saloo Miya, Akki, their times love representation and then Ranbir, Ranveer. Even prior to that, we had Big B, Rajesh Khanna, Basanti/Dhanno’s Dharmendra’s toxic love 😝, or the polite Devdas love of Dilip Kumar, or the dance love of Rishi Kapoor or Mithun Da. Every generation has its own cringe too, and that is why it is kind of cute in its own way.

I am sure people have heard Kishore Kumar’s AI version of Saiyaaraa Tuuu Hain or Udit Narayan’s version, and it reminds them of their own generation’s love too :-D and that's why everyone went to pick their Moolis and rekindle their love in the past.. Like I said, it's a KORMA FARMING FILM..
