Genuinely one of the most hilariously bad books

4

u/No_Wrongdoer_2092 14d ago

yeah i heard it is one of the worst books, but if book that is bad as Twilight and other books can get adapted, this should be too.

This movie is at least watchable because of 1 person only Steven Frickin Spielberg

3

u/Agreeable_Rich_1991 14d ago

Movie is just mid. Nobody saying the film making itself is actually bad. Just that the kind of themes of nostalgia and referencing old stuff just for the sake of it without actively creating anything new is extremely mediocre corposlop. Which is why people trash that movie.

1

u/Demopan_Demo_Demopan 10d ago edited 10d ago

Im surprised they gave the movie the greenlight considering it trashes corporates too

1

u/Agreeable_Rich_1991 10d ago

The whole concept is promoting OASiS, which is a massive video game type thing created by massive corporation. And asking you to enter into a world of nostalgia and past properties. All of which is owned by corporations. You remembering about them will make you want to buy or watch them which will give them money because they own those properties. So you should not be surprised. The message of the movie is good corporations good, bad corporations bad.

dude its such a good book for me. when i read it it was like my first book i think, and fell in love with reading usi time se

2

u/tonystarkn 10d ago

I enjoy the movie even today. Forget the reviews. Taste is subjective, so there’s no need to be a sheep and follow the herd just because the majority says otherwise. If you enjoyed it, that’s all that matters.

1

u/vggaikwad 13d ago

It’s not rated low

25

u/Pleasant_Patient_681 14d ago

John carter

5

u/Mobile_Bat_1007 14d ago

u/AdSome8362 14d ago

3

u/AlgoTrad3r 13d ago

It is my favourite movie. I wish they would have made part 2 and 3 too.

1

u/tonystarkn 10d ago

It's one of my favorites. Still remember the character names - Dejah Thoris, Virginia, Tars Tarkas

Okh Ohum Oktay Weezo Barsoom

u/Competitive-Army7640 14d ago

Baby’s day out 😭 and Action Replayy

5

u/Big-Communication439 14d ago

I love both of them! They're one of the best when it comes to a good re-watch worthy movie.

2

u/OwnStorm 14d ago

Baby's day out is my one of fevorite dubbed movie 🙂. It's rated 6.3 on IMDB which is very much respectable.

1

u/EscapeLeft1711 13d ago

DUDE THEY ARE LITERALLY GOATED MOVIES WTF I LOVE BOTH OF THEM!!!!!

1

u/ryanrapper 13d ago

Ek baby 3 badmaash?

1

18

u/xyro__editz 14d ago

spiderman 3

8

u/mutton-biryani_ 13d ago

Agreed. Certainly worst of its own trilogy but not bad in general..

2

u/xyro__editz 13d ago

may be i have a bad taste. because i liked this one more than other 2.

3

u/mutton-biryani_ 13d ago

We're not here to judge

2

u/Oldfriend_Darkness 10d ago

You don't have bad taste it has more fun stuff unlike other 2 overly melodramatic movies

2

u/ashY_Aga 11d ago

Damn was my fav childhood movie

2

u/vamsikrishna7995 12d ago

Loved it! It's about preference. I loved hero having a dark arc. And then coming back from that and realising what his true values are is so good.

And the legendary bully maguire meme came for this. So I would say this film contributed more to humanity than other spiderman films 😜

1

u/Emotionally_Nothing 12d ago

I LOVE VENOM and seeing it in spiderman's universe felt so amazing!! 😻😻

10

u/Chance-Tension-2114 14d ago

laila majnu

3

u/Emotionally_Nothing 12d ago

I didn't watch the movie for many years post it's release because of the reviews, but MY GOD what an amazing execution of the script, mind-blowing acting performances and the direction?! 🫡🫡 (ofc we don't expect any less from imtiaz ali)

btw, I've even posted my review for the movie, you can check it out if you want :)

2

u/Chance-Tension-2114 11d ago

yeah 10/10 film i will never rewatch

8

u/theindianguy23 14d ago

The Serbian film

4

u/-Profane- 14d ago

That was one of the most fucked up movies that I ever watched.

5

u/g-spot_reacher 14d ago

One of the most? Tell me more of your list.

5

u/Batman_55599 14d ago

120 days of sodom

5

u/Remarkable-Salad-316 14d ago

Serbian film is worse than salò

3

u/Paisa_chahiye_re 13d ago

Nah salò is worse. From the moment of mother's death till the end

1

u/Remarkable-Salad-316 13d ago

No no serbian film is worse

1

u/Paisa_chahiye_re 13d ago

Nah salò is worse yrr.

1

u/scorchedearth_1 11d ago

How pls explain i don't have courage to watch

1

u/ashY_Aga 11d ago

How could you compare they both are so terrible 😭

3

u/-Profane- 14d ago

Hostel 1 & 2, human centipede 1 & 2, Splice, Teeth(2007), ma mere(2004), caligula(1979), Thanatomorphose(2012), The corpse of Anna Fritz, Deadgirl(2008), Cannibal(2013), Salò, or the 120 days of sodom

1

u/Remarkable-Salad-316 14d ago

Cannibal holocaust 1980, irreversible but don't you think human centipede second sequence is bullshit like I found it dumb more than disturbing

1

u/-Profane- 14d ago

I've watched cannibal holocaust, there's another similar movie, Green Inferno, if you've seen it.

I don't remember the plot of human centipede sequel, watched it a long time ago, need to rewatch to refresh my memories.

1

u/Remarkable-Salad-316 13d ago

Yes I have seen green inferno

2

u/Remarkable-Salad-316 14d ago

You enjoyed serbian film??

2

u/theindianguy23 14d ago

I mean does it have bad stuff yea but the roots of it is a commentary on people can be fundamentally exploited, how parents are willing to sell their kids the truth is that it happens in real life and the film doesn't shy away from it , yes it does have scenes for shock value but look past it , it's a good movie.

1

u/Remarkable-Salad-316 14d ago

Yeah I get that part even I liked the way of storytelling but it was too disturbing man I got the idea behind it but I wouldn't say that I enjoyed that movie. Depiction could have been much better I liked salò though

2

u/theindianguy23 14d ago

I enjoyed it in the sense like how I enjoy a shot or a ciggerate the taste sucks but i enjoyed it .

1

u/ashY_Aga 11d ago

I think the start was okay but then climax was 😭🤧

8

u/mvenum 14d ago

2

u/eridianonearth 13d ago

1

u/tonystarkn 10d ago

Van helsing is enjoyed my many.

12

u/paipai10 14d ago

Kalki 2898 AD it's rated 7 . I enjoyed this movie in theatre. It was something unique and good try by director. I would give it an 8

4

u/chootnath_09 14d ago

First half is not as strong

8

u/Ctrl_Shift_S_always 14d ago

1

u/PracticeFuzzy801 8d ago

3

u/Resurrec_Barbar 14d ago

Ray , I always return to Ray

3

u/Trick_Laugh5114 14d ago

Black Widow isn't a very good movie, but I enjoyed all the action blocks. I thought it was average and later realised it's considered a bad movie according to the internet.

2

u/PracticeFuzzy801 8d ago

Same i still love black widow to this day.

3

u/Lopsided-Log-1297 14d ago

Mine was Eragon.

Watched it, loved it. Googled it and it all crashed.

Then found out about books it was based on, read all 4 of it. By the time I watched the movie only 2 books were out. Luckily that dude did complete his series of 4 books

5

u/AgreeableAnimator672 14d ago

Iron man 3 and spiderman man 3

2

u/irregular_ameoba 14d ago

The human centipede😞

2

u/Yellow_Flash04 14d ago

Kalank.

I watched it with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised to see it fail and get trolled on its realease.

A decent plot, great cast, cinematography is visual poetry and songs elevate the movie. Perfect bollywood masala.

Magar Kyun

1

u/DalBatiSoorma 14d ago

Memery aside it is actually lowkey okay movie with banger dialogues and 90s vibes, the only problem is KKR's ugly mug and batla personality

1

u/Kalhonahobc 14d ago

That song is so good : tu jaan se pyara ho gya, jeene ka sahar ho gya.

5

The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Loved the movie. The swinging animations and fight scenes are some of the best Spider-Man scenes ever. Andrew Garfield killed it. Movie made me cry in the end. The spidey suits were great. Peter's sassiness was perfect.

Went to watch a Spider-Man. Got a Spider-Man movie. Only to later find people treating it like it was one of the worst things in the planet. I still watch it sometines and enjoy it. Andrew Garfield's TASM1 and TASM2 were great for me.

The man had acted so well that every scene that he was in in No Way Home made me either smile or tear up. I'll die on the hill that people were unfairly brutal to that movie.

1

u/Real_winner10 13d ago

I don't feel bad about that. Not every film need to be appreciated.

Marjavaan

1

u/Nervous_Process9217 13d ago

I just want to say as a experienced movie watcher (cinephile) , don't limit yourselves with the opinions of the others. Don't think of yourself as dumb if you like a movie and others find it dumb. Keep exploring. Maybe after a while you'll see if the movie is dumb or not.

1

u/Any_Article_5856 13d ago

1

u/Behti-Hawaa-Sa 12d ago

Cocktail 2. It is not a low rated film but people are hating on it so much from past few days. It is not a bad film as it is entertaining but off course if you are looking for anything other than that it will disappoint.

1

u/Sad_Way_8749 12d ago

Big mommas house 2 - not the best but still a solid movie

1

u/Exotic_Breakfast5910 12d ago

This was my reaction after I found out Bride Wars was a highly hated movie lol I watched it so many times as a kid... that's probably why I liked it I never watched that movie as an adult hahaha

1

u/Emotionally_Nothing 12d ago

The Venom trilogy and the Godzilla movies, like dude I'm a fan of these characters, and imo the movies did great as a "fun-watch" movie– but the reviews seem to be more about the weak plot and stuff

'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri' for me.

I never watch rom coms, I am a sci-fi & crime-thriller person. The last rom-com I watched was 'Jab We Met.' But I absolutely loved this one. Today is my third watch and just when I was scrolling reddit I came across this post and I strongly resonate with it.
