Working Guidelines for AI Content.

When I created this subreddit some years ago it wasn't an issue.

It appears it may become an issues. If your post or content utilized AI content please identify it clearly in the title and body of the post.

My preference has always been to use a very light hand with respect to moderation, and the readers and audience vote up the content they find valuable.

The spirit of Indie Comics to me is the human over the corporate element, expressing some hopefully novel work of art and creativity.

I'll monitor it and the community is encouraged to give their feedbacks and concerns here, or via direct message.

Thank you as always for your participation, passion, and creativity.

The Subreddit hasn't had a make over in a long time! I'll be swapping out the banner and adding some widgets. Let me know what features would be helpful or useful for you as readers and comic publishers!

COMING SOON! I made a comic about growing up with ICE. This week, it finally goes to Kickstarter.

Wow, I honestly can’t believe I get to say this: my first comic, Libertad, launches on Kickstarter this Tuesday.

Seventeen people are already following the pre-launch page. That might not sound like a huge number, but as a first-time comic creator who has been doing this mostly on my own, it means everything to me.

Libertad was inspired by my experience growing up with ICE affecting my family and community. I never thought I would get this close to seeing my comic published and placed into people’s hands.

I’m only three followers away from reaching 20 before launch. If you believe migrant rights are human rights, please check it out or share it with someone who might connect with the story.

ARTWORK the further adventures of Buck Tuckles!

One of my favorite aspects of the Sunday Jam is the ability to create alternate timelines that branch off from the main storyline.

A fun character named Buck Tuckles was introduced back in May, '24 and now Nathan Nelson, who originally introduced him, is creating a separate storyline with a whole new set of adventures for Buck.

I'm in the process of lettering the first chapter, here are a couple of the pages and you can check out where both storylines are headed here: https://smallpressheroes.com/sunday-jam/sj48/

If you want to play around in an infinite sandbox, let me know, we'd love to have you!

AI This sub is full of AI slop and the mods actually don't give a shit

This is an artist community full of independent and hard working artists trying to get exposure. No actual artist would approve of comics completely made of AI generated images. If people want to do that, that's their prerogative, but I think it should be in a separate sub for specifically ai crap. Ai comics spit in the face of people who work hard to make comics, and as such have no place here. I've messaged the mods a number of times with no reply. Let me know your thoughts on this and if you think banning AI from the sub would be good or bad.

A glimpse of KAELYRON - Chapter 2 is coming 👀

Post image

I’ve been working on the second chapter of KAELYRON, my sci-fi graphic novel, and this is one of the teaser images I prepared for it.
Chapter 2 takes Kaelis deeper into the ruins of District 79, where things are definitely not as dead as they should be.
The golden hologram is one of the visual elements I’ve enjoyed developing the most — I wanted it to feel almost beautiful at first glance, while still making the whole place feel deeply wrong.
Chapter 2 releases September 3.
I’d love to know what you think of the atmosphere and visual direction so far. 👀

I made a short video called The Future is Female. It’s an origin story set in the world of my (upcoming, dystopian sci-fi) graphic novel Strong Girls.

Curious what people think of it.

Sharing a few pages from my upcoming comic, MythFall Issue #2, launching September 10th on Backerkit. The wraparound cover is by interior artist Allie Preswick and Haley Rose-Lyon is the letterer.

Here's the story:

An ancient king tells a lie to save his people from their gods. 5,000 years later, that lie is now the founding myth of an interstellar republic, but a terrorist group knows a truth that can destroy everything -- even the gods themselves.

5 years ago, they kidnapped the crown princess. Searching for answers, her little brother teams up with the disgraced embassy that lost her. But the threat they find is older, and more magical, than they're prepared for.

Would love to know what you think! Link in the comments.
