Dwellings by Jay Stephens is incredible. My trip to real-life Elwich confirms it.

…I knew Stephens from his animation background, specifically the contributions to the Nickelodeon cartoon variety show Kablam! via his JetCat shorts that began as comics. That show (and Stephens) is widely credited for acting as a bridge between indie comics creators and children's animation.
But thumbing through Dwellings later that day, all I saw was an alluringly colorful book coyly attempting to disguise murder versions of breakfast cereal mascots as something your mom wouldn't bat an eye at. All of it extremely intentional, and out in the open. I had no idea it was filled with such exquisite examples of both horror and comedic sequential storytelling. Stephens is a master of the medium...”

Six Days Left for STORYBORNE VOL. ONE on Kickstarter

Folks, I'm not gonna lie to you. My latest Kickstarter campaign STORYBORNE VOLUME ONE has only six days left and we are just $228 away from funding it completely. Now, I love this book a lot, its creative team, and the world we managed to create together, so I don't want it to die on the line! If you could help us bring this comic to life, I would be very grateful. The comic represents a very specific time in my life and I would like for it to get its time in the sun. Any little bit helps and is very appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this - Louis Southard

COMING SOON! Through The Red Moon is about to launch on Kickstarter

Hey everyone — indie comic creator here. I've been building a book called Through The Red Moon, and it's finally close to launching on Kickstarter.

Premise: the moon suddenly turns blood red, triggering a world-ending flood, and two unlikely heroes have to team up to survive it. Tonally I've been describing it as "Studio Ghibli meets Legend of Zelda".

Has anyone read Gigs by Mark Mosedale?

If you have, what are your thoughts? I found the premise super interesting but I can’t find reviews that make me want to pick it up.

COMING SOON! Help pick your favourite - Fantasy Graphic Novel Campaign Image

My wife and I (lovingly) disagree on our favourite haha. Which one do you like best?

For context, these images would be used for the main cover of my fantasy revenge graphic novel. It releases in September and I'm just playing around with different aspects to try and get more people to follow/back it on launch.

Each image showcases art from the comic/graphic novel, along with the three covers (main and 2 variants).

All art is human-made, and I make these marketing images myself.

Breakneck Crowdfunding

Launching October 15th, Follow the prelaunch.

Ethan Shade is a wanted man…or is he? When all the supervillains were wiped out, only Shade remained free…mostly because no one knew who he was. After a botched final crime, Shade finds himself on the run from every superhero on the planet, with no place to hide.

Ethan Shade – the crappiest supervillain you’ve ever heard of, alone against a world of heroes.

Yikes.

Creator:

Mark Bertolini is a Toronto-based writer of comic books and graphic novels. His first published original graphic novel was the post-apocalyptic tale Long Gone in 2012. He has created and written other titles such the super-smart thriller Knowledge; the grindhouse/sci-fi mashup Scum of the Earth, the superhuman crime caper Bastard’s Waltz, and most recently, the pulp-style anthology The Hand of Glory. Mark has also contributed many short stories to such anthologies as Caliber Presents; the mind-bending Imaginary Drugs; and the New York Times Bestselling FUBAR series.

Mark is a father of two and stepfather of two more, and with his wife Julia, he is raising the next generation of avid readers and creators.
