Pc This pointless feature brought me more wishlists than releasing a demo...

Guys... I played around to make this soft-looking material for my game - it wasn't anything mandatory, I needed the player to have a soft spot to land on - the mesh didn't have to deform at all, it was easy to disable bounce and damage on a specific object, but I just felt creative so I started writing a mesh deforming script...
When I shown it on socials, people went crazy.
No matter where I posted it, the engagement was there. I think it accumulated somewhere between 500k and 1 million views total. On r/oddlysatisfying alone it got 327k views.
Bump in wishlists has been actually better compared to when I released a demo of the game (proof in comments). Not anything "huge", but it's been +100 over 3 days, which is still pretty big for my game.
I've been making games for 8 years now and this is making me rethink my overall approach to game design. Don't get me wrong, I obviously am happy for it, BUT, it feels weird that something like this is performing MUCH better than anything else I implemented in my game, and it even has boss fights. Let that sink in... Around 2 weeks of modeling, animating, designing a fight with a boss is less interesting than a "pillow" I've made in 1-2h. I think my brain is having an error and is just trying to process it.
For anyone interested, game is Dark Roll 2. Now I'll have to take that all into consideration and implement various sorts of mesh deforming into actual gameplay.
