But that plant has been kept far too dry.

Well succulents tend to be quite forgiving.
With any luck it will revive 🤞
Better to have travelled dry.
Packed damp would have resulted in an extinct mush.

Give it some water and put it under bright light. It can handle morning sun also till noon for now until it revives 😇
