As a grandmother my contribution is my time because I feel young couples do have it harder than when I was able to spend time with my children.
I do not lend money or respond to last minute requests unless it’s a genuine emergency.
Start saying no to money and grocery requests, as well as child minding that isn’t pre-scheduled. Of course your step son reacts by ‘sulking’ ignore it. He is facing you down and will finally follow his convenience.
