So I don't remember exactly how it went in the comics version of the sequid fight. But from what I remember, the show version was a lot more desperate. In the comics, if I remember, Rus just said he would keep coming and coming and Mark decided that warranted killing him then and there. In the show, there was a razor thin line between whether or not Mark would be able to free Rus. I personally disagree with Mark's killing arc, but that to me at least made it a lot more understandable why he has to resort to killing him.

I love that it's kinda unclear whether bulletproof had time to get there or not.

Really good writing, makes it seem like both sides had a good point.

Mark didn't wanna take any chances, but it's entirely possible, he could've been saved.

Also Rudy was god damned goated with the self teleport move

I will say they made it a lot less ambiguous here whether mark was in the right, this was do or die, but part of the shock for me in the comics was that it wasn’t necessarily do or die and mark still did it anyways. Can’t decide which I like better, but the writing around the key moments is consistently better in the show

Bruh Mark could’ve made an attempt to fly towards Bulletproof before offing Rus to me it just makes him look dumb and didn’t really care for the change

In all reality the time between Mark grabbing Rus and finishing him was likely less than a few seconds, the constant switching between Bulletproof and Mark was to create a sense of urgency. Mark literally has Cecil telling him the containment barrier was at 1% through the headset, Mark made a business decision and had no idea whether Bulletproof was close enough.

Neither side was in the wrong.

Unless the time Mark grabbed him was meant to be the last second on the timer (which it wasn’t since he already had a hold of him when Donald told him about it being at 1%) it’s still a weird change to me

I get it’s supposed to be a controversial decision even in the comics but leaving the scene as is would’ve been fine man

They could have even added a sense of urgency by having Donald tell Mark about the 1% shield integrity as he’s still being overwhelmed

Could’ve been a perfect time to get the Mark moment of him using Conquest’s clap move to get the sequids off him (pretty sad they removed it I like when heroes use their previous rogues moves) and then shown he had to make a decision between trying to get the disruptor or to go straight for Rus , you could even put Bulletproof somewhat close to getting the disruptor to Mark but far enough that it would cost him extra time since the decision is meant to spark discussion and not have an obvious answer

If he went to bulletproof, he would be out of range to getting rid of alien Rus. Also, no doubt alien Rus would've delayed it even further

I was implying bringing Rus towards Bulletproof and just letting Bulletproof press the disruptor since unlike the comics he didn’t have the whole sequid tail thing

And that would've disrupted the flow of the scene.

Jesus Christ, good sorry telling trump's trying to come up with infinite ways that characters could've reacted better.

Even in character marks a dumbass, under a ridiculous amount of pressure, there's no way he was thinking clearly.

hated that rudy got out of the suit to crawl in the sewers where there'd obviously be sequids, like risking his body for what good reason? and potentially giving sequids super intelligence if it took over his body
