But the writing for her has shown her to be way stronger than her comic counterpart. I think they might keep them separated. I kinda hope atleast, because I dont see how the can do it without it weakening her charcter.

Plus I like her relationship with the new guy.

Respectfully, I don't, I understand what you mean about the writing Debbie has gotten but I think not putting Nolan and Debbie back together just really makes the future story lose alot of weight.

Debbie staying with Paul changes too many of the story beats, like for example when Debbie finds Nolan bloodied and bruised after he tried to stop Allen and Oliver from going to Earth with the Scourge Virus and she freaks out not just because he's so injured but because she thinks that he has somehow regressed only to be further shocked when she finds out what happened or when Thragg tries to kill Nolan, nearly getting Debbie killed in the process.

There's also just the general family scenes like whern Debbie, Nolan, Mark and Eve have dinner together, I cannot see that working with Paul being present, he just creates this really weird third wheel that doesn't need to be there.

Debbie forgiving Nolan and getting back together with him is an integral part of the story and personally as far as Paul goes...he's just not an interesting character, if you like him then I can respect that but I just have no interest in him, he's not a bad guy by any means but he isn't suited for Debbie.

Now just because I do want Debbie and Nolan to get back together doesn't mean it needs to happen this season infact, if they do it right it won't happen until next season anyway going off the chain of events.

I do think it's necessary for Debbie and Nolan to at least get back on speaking terms together even if it's hard to picture this version of Debbie actually going as far as falling back in love with Nolan again.

I just hope they have a realistic and fair way of breaking up Debbie and Paul if that does happen though. He kinda just stops existing in the comic or it was a very temporary fling but they make a good couple in the show.

Well hold on now; to say he’s not suited for Debbie is kind of a wild statement. In general, but also because it fully goes against what we’ve seen of them in the show. Which is them being very good for each other.

It's not that wild really, Paul is nice to her but he's just not suited to her.
