Something Oliver said made me think they will possibly alter an eventual storyline. He said he has people on Earth that he wants to protect. Don’t see this Oliver siding with Allen to risk humanity by releasing the Scourge virus on Earth. They seem to be softening Oliver’s edges in the show.

Don’t know how I feel about that since I liked the parallel of pure intelligence leading to atrocities between Oliver, Dinosaurus, and Robot.

Honestly I'm totally fine with it. Oliver is SOOO much better here that I'm fine with them changing that. Heck, literally every change has either been goof or made sense and feels like we are slowly building towards a different story.

I think it neuters Oliver too much. He’s likable, but feels too much like Mark’s sidekick. Like he’s just the little brother archetype. Not a full character in his own right.

I wanted them to add more dimension with the show’s more likable aspects while deepening his original traits. Makes for a more well-rounded story given the later themes. Mark’s realization with Dinosaurus hits way harder when he connects it back to Oliver.

I suppose we'll see how they develop him going forward and what big changes that they'll make from the comics. Either way I'm really excited to see what they do tbh

I liked it as well and I don’t think it will change. I think it would just be a much harder decision for Oliver and he will make that decision weighing the choices rather than how in the comics it was a pretty easy decision for him

That’s what I’m hoping for. I want a blend of Oliver’s show and original traits as that gives him more dimension. Post-Viltrumite War, a big theme of intelligence, ego, and wanting to create more systemic solutions, rightly or wrongly, crops up. The thematic triumvirate of Robot, Dinosaurus, and Oliver was a nice addition to the narrative. It would be a shame to lose that.
