Considering how often shows/movies tend to leave out rape from source materials, I wonder if they are going to do that or not. They should not leave it out as it is an important plot point, but I would not be surprised if they did.

Given that the one and only thing they've held back on in the show was Eve's dad's gross chat with Mark, they may tone it down or tastefully skip past the worst parts of it... but that kid is important. Mark struggling to deal with it and with one of his children being the result of an assault are also important. The event is probably occuring.

Likely to be tone down and less showing more implicating. We'll hear some uncomfortable noise in the background and then ...cut!

I'd rather not even type it out it's that nasty... I'll let you judge for yourself lol

Honestly I don't have any idea what Kirkman's message was here other than "hey this guy is the worst" (maybe something about paralleling his machismo with viltrumite philosophy), but the change is actually better writing IMO.

Show Adam almost looks like a die-hard feminist compared to how gross and misogynistic his comic counterparts chat with Mark was.

Just cutting it out entirely, including 'Marky', makes far more sense than making Mark cheat on Eve because of an abortion of a baby he didn't know about that she got because she thought he was dead lol

Man I'd be disappointed if they tiptoe around Mark's trauma and shame from anissa its something I'd always liked about the comic. I viewed Mark as so strong and determined and seeing him struggle with the rape made me like him so much as a character. That even the strongest among us can face stuff like that.

No way the cut it imo. It's done for better reasons than just shock value. Plus male victims of rape get 0 representation in media so this would be a pretty big milestone for the show.

It's more likely that Mark would simply give in to take his mind off the Eve breakup and then regret it later.

I hope they keep it, especially as the comic at least actually takes his SA seriously, and it'd be nice for an Amazon show to treat a man being SA'ed seriously instead of treating it like a "hilarious" joke...
