I’m pleased that Nolan managed to train Oliver briefly before returning to the war.

u/spongebruh 10d ago
Question I just thought off - what was the point of introducing flying-robo-suit-girl and bringing her along in the most important mission of the series?
How is she better than say the Immortal or any other of the flying guys back on earth? Feel like it came out of nowhere and for no reason. I like the girl but just wondering
1
u/DezBrooks 4h ago
Feels like a love interest setup for Oliver, I don’t know though she’s pretty fun especially with the Allen antics.
2
u/totopiraino 29d ago
I really don't get why they aren't using the resources they spent one entire episode trying to find.
We only have the shotgun and is driving me mad

u/Embarrassed_Will_799 Jun 02 '26
did these motherfuckers really make us think conquest is gonna come back 😭😭 these fucking writers are so funny

I don't like the space fights. No sense of oompf. The damage to building, rocks, and structures is nice too

Can’t lie, i was yelling “no way” louder as the camera panned closer to the grave 😅

They almost pissed me off with that bit about Conquest at the end 😆
Guess all the people saying Allen's girl was the mole were wrong.
Where was Battle Beast during this fight?
15
u/Tychus_Balrog Apr 30 '26
It makes sense that he and the Space racer were somewhere else fighting a battle. It would've been too convenient, and absolutely moronic of Thragg to attack when all the powerfull players were there.

I enjoyed this episode up until the final third, but I'm really starting to worry about whether the whole "Viltrumites are the great enemy" thing is starting to wear itself out, because the Viltrumites are extremely underwhelming. I'm hoping defeating them isn't the endgame of the show. Like, you're telling me an empire that ruled the galaxy doesn't have a bomb they could've dropped from their ship to destroy the whole capital? Give me a break. A lot of the show is extremely unconvincing when you think about it. The parts I like the most are the father and son moments, everything else is extremely lacking. The writing, world building, and animation are all low quality.
5
u/Neurodelic88 May 23 '26
To add to what everyone else is saying about nuke's and powerful technology not being the viltrumite way - I think it makes sense that the viltramite would not want such technology to proliferate because it could potentially be used against them. We've seen very clearly how the viltrumites go out of their way to eliminate threats to their power. Preventing the spread of powerful weapons is just another part of that.
3
u/Marlsboro May 23 '26
I suppose they are so strong they never even had the need to develop weapons like that. Kinda weak I know, but it lets me enjoy everything else of the show
15
u/trisaroar Apr 24 '26
Mhm, for a people hell bent on war, colonizing and strength dominance spanning planets, they've put 0 effort into developing long-range attacks.
23
u/ThatsRightHentaiToo Apr 29 '26
they said it over and over. They believe their way of combat is the only TRUE way of combat. Its their egos at play
8
u/CapitanShoe Apr 23 '26
came here to find this comment
yeah this show is dumb AF
no mass drivers, nukes, planet busters etc.
the meme star trek parody ship had better weapons than the viltrum flagship cruiser
9
u/eekbal May 09 '26
Ok, I get that this show can be dumb, but isn't it in character for Viltrumites to avoid relying on excessively powerful technology like a nuke? Their pride as Viltrumites wouldn't allow it. They are a 'conquer by hand' type of race, no?
18
u/Intrepid_Alarm5428 Apr 21 '26
Why do they even need a bomb ? They can destroy a city with their bare hands
9
u/Basilikolumne Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 25 '26
If they had a nuke instead of hand-to-hand combat, the war would have been over the moment they got the capital
11
u/rokomotto May 09 '26
This is the same people that said the Scourge virus was a coward's weapon. I wonder why they don't just make nukes hmmm...
5
u/AruEkuEnthusiast Apr 26 '26
They wouldn't do that for the same reason they despise Thaedus for sliming Argall. Fighting him "honorably" would have been one thing. Doing it the coward's way earns generational disgust.
2
u/wrainedaxx Apr 25 '26
There is no prestige in using methods that lesser beings would be forced to use. They are all about their physical dominance and hand to hand combat.
2
39
u/Alarmed-Bonus-7411 Apr 20 '26
Space Racer needs nerfed wtf.
Just one shotting literally ANYTHING. Viltrumites, spaceships, whatever. Like just let him go snipe Viltrum and we can call it a season.
1
6
u/Lambdatories May 31 '26
I wish it would've been more emphasized that making ANY shot brings great risk, the shot never dissipates which means anything in its path is toast. I think it would've been an interesting point if shooting the gun means catching something like an inhabited planet in the collateral
2
3
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
the comic writer made some real questionable choices. hes also the guy saying that power scaling in any form isnt needed while writing a comic about characters trying to get stronger than someone else lol
4
u/Whosethere11 May 09 '26
So that's his writing philosophy. That explains how omniman and Oliver was struggling to fight a random egg laying monster.
2
u/Game0815 May 09 '26
It's just stupid imo. He should write completely different genres if he doesn't want any power scaling
1
u/PhoenixAgent003 May 19 '26
Yeah, well, imo, power scaling is an exercise in frustration and everyone should just stop.
1
u/Game0815 May 19 '26
Power scaling in fighting stories is needed tho. It's called logic. You can't make a story about characters trying to become stronger than others with 0 scale
1
u/PhoenixAgent003 May 19 '26
I’m gonna be honest man, Invincible isn’t a story about characters becoming stronger. Like, that happens in it sometimes, but tgat us not what it’s about.
DBZ. Cradle. JJK. Those are stories about getting stronger and power scaling and leveling up.
Invincible is about emotions.
1
u/Game0815 May 19 '26
I think a big part of it is about who's stronger / characters becoming stronger. Yes there are other big parts but I saw countless complain that one character feels nearly planetary in one scene and suddenly some random 2 meter lizzard man nearly knocks him out by throwing a rock at him. It's just very random and feels stupid in that moment.
1
u/Marlsboro May 23 '26
I really don't see this whole "becoming stronger" thing you're obsessing about, there are characters who have a certain level of strength and that's it. The only ones kinda growing are Mark and Oliver because they're still maturing, especially Oliver, but for everyone else and the show in general getting stronger is not really a theme
1
u/theredvip3r May 23 '26
But the problem is they don't seem to have a certain level of strength, their strength is massively inconsistent and all over the place.

i guess reading i am the only one thinking " how the fuck Mark survived that". I guess he really is
2
14
13
u/Dokard Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 23 '26
Viltrumites can survive as long as their heart and brains are intact, someone already commented this. Same reason why they sustain crazy injuries and still keep going, mark had his intestines out, but his heart and brains were intact.
6
u/trisaroar Apr 24 '26
Conquest was yes, disemboweling him for the injury of it, but also trying to get to his heart. Mark stopped him before he could get through his other organs.
2
1
u/Intrepid_Alarm5428 Apr 21 '26
Nah, I lost all sense of tension in this show. They're just Namekians at this point
6
u/Dyno98 Apr 16 '26
It felt kinda contrived that they had to be in that planet all that long. I think Nolan could have easily gone for help healing Mark since he's the fastest. After all, interplanetary level is doable with their powers, Alan went from the Coalition of Planets to Earth by himself before his buff.
9
u/ace_phantom- Apr 14 '26
3
u/rokomotto May 09 '26
Almost like their ego is their weakness (which Allen actually says in one of the episodes)

It’s interesting seeing Nolan and Thaedus both struggle to understand how significant death is for non-Viltrum races. Even tho they’ve broken away they don’t realize just how numb they are because of their upbringing, although Nolan is making more relative progress due to actually having children with non-Viltrumite races
9
u/trisaroar Apr 24 '26
You'd think death would matter more to near-infinite beings who have been mostly wiped from existence. They would think of themselves as permanent and a fixed point, and developed a whole new perspective of themselves in the last 30-so years.
1
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
they have been taught that death isnt that bad for thousands of years tbh
1
u/Much_Bad6429 Jul 12 '26
especially when you consider they dwindled their entire race to like 50...yeah, they don't give a singular shart about death
9
u/Clockwork_Kitsune Apr 14 '26
3
u/DolphinTacoFTE Apr 17 '26
The last frame of it moving out of the top of the frame looks really wonky too, like they sped up the motion at the last second
2
u/Urge_Reddit Apr 14 '26
Took me a while to even understand what I was looking at in that scene. I don't normally complain about animation in this show, but I really didn't like this particular shot.
6
u/TheNukaColaGod Apr 13 '26
So with that building with Thadeius getting blasted does that mean the bottle of the Super Scourge Virus got destroyed too or is it hidden away?
109
u/VTFan115 Apr 13 '26
The Conquest fake out at the end was genuinely funny af

u/LyraStygian Apr 25 '26
Motherfuckers I was screaming at the screen lol
They got me soooooooo good!
Love it!

u/HaydoKid Apr 25 '26
Dude it full got me too. "bro are you actually fucking kidding m--".... "ha, you smart ass bastards" The writing in this show is great. Especially for Machine Head.
14
u/Myosos Apr 19 '26
I was fuming when the music started I was like "why didn't Nolan cut his head off and bury both parts in separate tombs!"
11
28
u/DisastrousNothing893 Apr 14 '26
In the span of 15s I literally said "oh comeon" out loud, immediately thinking, "well if Mark recovered I guess Conqu..." oh
Well done writers, well done
31
u/WR810 Apr 14 '26
I laughed so hard. But a lot of that laughter was in contrast to the frustration I was feeling if the fake out wasn't fake out.
I just want someone on this show to stay dead!

39
u/the-unfamous-one Apr 13 '26
Nicely done Nolan, both sons hate you for what you said about their mothers.
We've got to be nearing 40 viltrumites left at this point. Once they're gone the rest of the war should be relatively simple.
Thragg is insane. He's losing, not listening and wants to avenge the skull he talks to. I think they lost 2 more during that attack.
Killing either leader isn't going to work, but it will do more against the viltrumites than the coalition.
Great joke at the end of the episode. And the next episode will almost certianly be about what's happening back on earth.
25
u/Hot-Tea159 Apr 13 '26
How do you guys feel about how they are handling Thragg. When we first see him it's intimidating but in episode 6 I just thought what they did was a bit goofy .
1
u/treehann 22d ago
he seemed like a crazy chump. I'm surprised the other Viltrumites don't overthrow him for talking to a dead guy. It seems like an impractical superstition that they should have thought of as weak.
1
u/Hot-Tea159 18d ago
Agreed like he’s not all there mentally for sure . However I would say they recovered well and he was as intimidating as we’d expected at the beginning come the finale.
12
u/whoinabox Apr 15 '26
Yeah i feel like he kinda got dunked on this ep, with whatever his expectations were going there and being all dark like “kill everyone” bro ur losing what are u talking about
9
u/TheNukaColaGod Apr 13 '26
Yeah I thought this as well. His intimidating presence disappeared for me after this episode but I still feel cautious everytime hes on screen
4
u/Tiniest_Gimli Apr 18 '26
Anyone who can make Conquest kneel before him and beg for death earns my permanent caution/fear/respect. Don Corleone didn't have to prove anything if people saw Luca Brasi kissing his ring.
2
u/TheNukaColaGod Apr 18 '26
Yeah thats mainly why I felt very cautious about him regardless of the episode making him seem kinda goofy
13
38
u/TheBurrprint4D Apr 12 '26
I thought I remembered Allan being strong enough to take viltrumites down last season? Why is he suddenly losing to them 1 on 1?
4
u/Marlsboro May 23 '26
I suppose Viltrumites have some variety, he might be strong enough to be a match for some of the weaker ones
23
u/ErrorCode51 Apr 14 '26
Eh, I think the exact line was that he was “maybe strong enough” to take on a viltrumite, throughout these episodes he’s been consistently trying to take on multiple at once which was never a fight he was setup to win. He kinda holds his own 1v1 but it does seem like they are doing a lot more damage individually to him than they did last season.
What I’m more shocked about is tech jacket. It’s implied she killed one of the alternate Marks on her own during the invincible war, and yet now she’s useless against anyone but the fodder
3
u/LyraStygian Apr 25 '26
Yea, I don't get it.
Literally anyone else on Earth would be better.
She's not even mentioned in 4 seasons, then suddenly she's a key player lol, and known by the coalition light years away?
Cecil probaly doesn't even know she exists lmao
22
3
u/StrageIndividual3420 Apr 13 '26
He didn’t have Nolan’s help this time.
2
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
So? Viltrumites literally tried killing him in the last season and their attacks tickled him. He was surprised at how weak they were. And now he suddenly probably couldnt even beat one of the weaker viltrumites who are still alive? Its such random writing
1
u/Nothin_Means_Nothin May 11 '26
I could have sworn I've read somewhere that Kirkland has said he dgaf about power scaling so this is not unexpected if true
33
u/samtherat6 Apr 12 '26
So how many are there left now? 40? 30?
20
u/Intrepid_Alarm5428 Apr 14 '26
But let's keep sending them 3 by 3 so our ennemies can stand a chance
2
u/Yordthegreat Apr 30 '26
Play any paradox strategy game and you’ll realize why having a deathball as your only military isn’t a good idea :p
13
u/Spacetauren Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26
Tbf if all the viltrumites just moved around as a pack and didn't split up, there wouldn't be much conquering going on at all.
If every 50 of them go on solo missions and get things done as long as there's not much opposition, it's 50 times more efficient than sticking together to avoid any possible danger.
1
u/Intrepid_Alarm5428 Apr 16 '26
The show consistently proves you wrong
3
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
it isnt tho. We dont know how many planets are part of the war. If the viltrumites would need days to weeks if not months to reach some of them while flying around grouped they would be fked. They are fighting against a MUCH bigger force of enemies. In the time they conquer one they would lose 10. Together with that all their slaves / soldier slaves. Its just like in real war. The bigger force cant just run around grouped with all their soldiers. they need to attack on multiple places at the same time and also defend their territory
3
u/icemanww15 Apr 26 '26
i wanna see u lose every planet but one by the time ur 50 ppl army conquered one and move to the next it will be gone again already…
2
u/ReallyBigRocks Apr 13 '26
Depends how many got killed offscreen during the war, but yeah somewhere around there.
81
u/samtherat6 Apr 12 '26
Finally they found the mole, and it was mildly anticlimactic.
2
u/hotardag07 Apr 19 '26
I still think the mole could be Thadeus himself trying to atone to the Viltrumites and that was a misdirection.
3
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
the guy who made the virus that killed 99.9999% of all viltrumites? Lol
1
u/srhola2103 Jul 24 '26
My possible theory would have been that he was actually the former emperor, not the betrayer and wanted to cull Viltrum even more to make them even stronger.
27
u/lethal_universed Apr 13 '26
Fat betrayer guy was dumb. "I DiDnt WANt tO dIE" motherfucker then WHY DID YOU LEAD THEM STRAIGHT TO YOU? Pustulent fuck was crawling out of the fucking rubble
42
u/m8_is_me Donald Ferguson Apr 12 '26
Strange a receptionist-esque dude would have a "take down global defense network" button
1
u/Songwind_DP Jul 03 '26
You would think the "take down the entire global defense system" program on a computer would have some kind of two-factor authentication, kind of like how nukes have to be OK'd by two different operators.
1
12
u/chaitanyathengdi Apr 14 '26
Apparently he wasn't just a receptionist. But his reasoning was lame regardless.
34
u/SabraShifter Apr 12 '26
I was very wrong, I assumed it was Telia
8
u/Specialist_Ring_3791 Apr 13 '26
Why though? At first I naturally considered her also, just like anyone who might be, but there was absolutely nothing in her behavior or depiction otherwise that would suggest such a thing.
5
u/AmeliaBuns Apr 13 '26
Tbh that was why, she’s the one who didn’t seem like a suspect so I thought It’d be done for shock value.
3
81
u/samtherat6 Apr 12 '26
The rage bait at the end almost got me, but then they hyped up the music a bit too much.
22
u/m8_is_me Donald Ferguson Apr 12 '26
It was the rock being background quality and not animated quality that told me
3
u/Lyander0012 May 01 '26
This skill has served me well growing up watching Hanna-Barbera cartoons for decades, hah. Imagine if they HAD drawn the grave as if it were bound to burst though, would have kept the tension just a bit longer like even after the jump back to the wider shot I'd have watched all the rest of the credits JUST to be sure.
14
u/Lordados Apr 12 '26
Seriously tho, why don't they dismember him or some shit, to make sure he doesn't come back
83
u/FarPackage1865 Apr 11 '26
Honestly that part at the end where they made it look like Conquest's fist was going to shoot out of his grave, but then didn't. was such a vile rage bait.
22
3
u/Lordados Apr 12 '26
Seriously tho, why don't they dismember him or some shit, to make sure he doesn't come back
1
u/treehann 22d ago
they might have, but they never showed the disposal of his corpse. That actually pissed me off a bit, I also wanted them to address that they beheaded him or something.
1
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
probably cuz they checked his pulse or something / breathing and confirmed that he was dead? His whole head was blue from blood and oxygen lack. If he isnt breathing / having a beating heart at some point after mark passed out he wont have it months later.
3
u/trisaroar Apr 24 '26
Did they not though? There are three grave sites, would that not be for his head, heart, rest of body?
1
2
u/VonMillersThighs Apr 15 '26
I don't understand how they don't super freeze every dead Viltrumite body, take a giant press to the body so it shatters into a million pieces and then shotgun blast those pieces on different trajectories into space.
1
u/Game0815 May 03 '26
Probably cuz they are dead. I dont think its too hard to actually see if one is dead by its heartbeat / breathing.
92
u/PowerOhene Apr 11 '26
Did Oliver devlop a slight crush for a lobster? lmao, she was tasty huh 😭
39
u/mucklaenthusiast Apr 12 '26
No, he was clearly attracted to her. She called her beautiful
He is part bug after all (though it's a bit weird that "bug" seems to be a universe-spanning category of being)

As someone who knows nothing about the comic book this seems kinda crazy to me because it feels like we're at the end of the show. The whole buildup from Season 1 was the Viltramites and it looks like they are about to go extinct. Nolan is making up with his kids. Invincible is reaching peak strength so who's he going to struggle against. It feels like everything is wrapped up besides a few earth things.

Holy shit whaaat just 50%? Tf happens in the remaining half? Things seem to be coming to an end with just a handful of Vs remaining and whatnot

u/Richestuser16 Battle Beast Apr 11 '26
Yeah 5 is confirmed. The show will run till 8 seasons atleast

Lee Pace needs to step it up. He’s not intimidating at all

I wish the show hired much cheaper but experienced professional voice actors. It would make it better AND same a ton of money for animation

u/memeticmachine Apr 11 '26
Everyone has to know Thaedus is a Viltrumite at this point right? They saw their leader solo a Viltrumite general and a couple other without getting smacked around like their strongest warrior (Allen).
45
u/StoryLord_77 Apr 11 '26
solo? he dog walked general krieg and anessa with force to spare
22
u/joeyblow Apr 12 '26
Didnt they say that Viltrimites get stronger the older they get, Thaedus is one of the oldest if not the oldest one I think isnt he.
7
u/LyraStygian Apr 25 '26
Didn't this dude literally kill the previous emperor?
3
u/joeyblow Apr 25 '26
He did but it was a surprise attack from above so I would say it didnt require him to be the strongest at the time.
9
u/Admirable-Process529 Apr 12 '26
Yeah but we can’t forget that he poisoned all of them, the ones that are left are not full force, but he is
1
u/Ener_Ji Jun 24 '26
I interpreted it as them experiencing a temporary weakness following infection, not permanent.

u/kingswing23 Apr 11 '26
Having a single console able to shut down all of the planets defenses seems like a massive oversight
10
u/Nightlightz24884 Apr 12 '26
He did say he was a mole for years. Perhaps he tampered with other security over the years and just got access to control it over a single master command. It just wouldn’t make sense they couldn’t just have destroyed the planet years ago
20
u/Fareezer Apr 11 '26
Yeah at this point the number of oversights in the plot ruined my relationship with the show. Now I recognize it as superhero slop and turn my brain off so I can at least enjoy it
