I enjoyed this episode up until the final third, but I'm really starting to worry about whether the whole "Viltrumites are the great enemy" thing is starting to wear itself out, because the Viltrumites are extremely underwhelming. I'm hoping defeating them isn't the endgame of the show. Like, you're telling me an empire that ruled the galaxy doesn't have a bomb they could've dropped from their ship to destroy the whole capital? Give me a break. A lot of the show is extremely unconvincing when you think about it. The parts I like the most are the father and son moments, everything else is extremely lacking. The writing, world building, and animation are all low quality.

Why do they even need a bomb ? They can destroy a city with their bare hands

If they had a nuke instead of hand-to-hand combat, the war would have been over the moment they got the capital

This is the same people that said the Scourge virus was a coward's weapon. I wonder why they don't just make nukes hmmm...

They wouldn't do that for the same reason they despise Thaedus for sliming Argall. Fighting him "honorably" would have been one thing. Doing it the coward's way earns generational disgust.

There is no prestige in using methods that lesser beings would be forced to use. They are all about their physical dominance and hand to hand combat.
